chapter two: the unthinkable happens

( in English class the teacher is in the middle of a lesson when suddenly the pa system gose off )

Principal Maine voice : would Jake Cruz please come to my office please thank you .

Tommy: yo Cruz what did you do

Jake: I don't know see you guys

Tommy ok see you

(Jake exits the class room and enters the principal's office )

Principal Maine : Mr Cruz please take a seat

Jake sits down

Jake: is everything alright sir ?

Maine: yes I have a few questions to ask you about Monty he's been missing for quite awhile

Jake: yeah I've head

Maine: do you know what could have happened to him ?

Jake: no sir I haven't seen him since the game

Main: I see well I only ask because his parents are worried

Jake: I understand sir

Main: ok are you sure

Jake : I only encountered him once but I was looking for my friend at the time

Maine: ok well

Miss Lance : sir I have some terrible news

Maine: what is it? (noticing her eyes are filled with tears) is everything ok ?

Miss Lance : no it's Monty he's he's dead

Mine: what !! Are you sure !?

Miss Lance : yes they found his body by the docs it washed up two near by fisherman spotted the body they said they body looked like he was in fight

Jake: oh no

Main: what is Mr Cruz

Jake oh nothing sir I gotta go my apologies

Maine: it's ok son don't worry about it .

( Jake gets up and race out the door )

Jake no he can't be there has to be a mistake

( Thinks back to ten minutes before the homecoming game again only more is reveled this time )

Monty: what was say it to my face

Jake : come on Monty I don't want any trouble

Monty: to late punk

Luke: hey Monty what the hell man

Monty: stay out of this Luke

Luke: Monty chill alright

Monty: fine you lucky he's here

Jake: what ever

Monty enters the looker room

Luke: sorry about that Jake what was all that about

Jake: it's fine don't worry about man sometimes I wish Monty would just go away forever

Luke: hey I got you alright

Jake: thanks anyways I gotta find Jessica see you

Luke alright man see yea

Jake: good luck

Luke: thanks

(Flashback ends )

(Bell rings Luke exits his class and See's Jake with a zoned out look on his face )

Luke : Jake what's wrong man is everything ok

Jake: no man it's Monty he's ..

Luke: it's ok just breath man

Jake ( takes a breath ) he's dead

Luke: what how why ?

Jake : Miss Lance came in when I was in principal Maine's office saying they found his body

Luke: they who's they

Jake: two fisherman where by the docks fishing when they spotted his body

Luke: are you sure it was him

Jake: yea I'm sure he still had his sports jersey on it had his name on it

Luke: man that's nuts

Jake : and they said he looked like he had been a fight

Luke : oh crap

Jake: yea I think we both know why he looks like that

Luke: hey look it's gonna be alright they still don't know if that was the main cause of his death

Jake: that's true

Luke: besides we don't know what happened after the game

Jake: yup unless nevermind

Luke: what is it you can tell me

Jake: ok you remember ten minutes before the game and you saw Monty yelling at me

Luke: yea

Jake: before that Monty and his girlfriend where arguing about him cheating on her

Luke: oh

Jake: what if the girl had a boyfriend and he you know

Luke: I highly doubt it wait who was the girl name

Jake: I don't know I just overheard because I was looking for Jessica

Luke: I see well we don't know if it's fowl play just yet

Jake: your right

Juke: alright let's go find Jessica maybe she knows something

Jake: ok

( Jake and Luke walk off to go find Jessica )
