42 Two Candles, But One Flame

After Jinn had held Kai for a while, he leaned up, letting out a sigh.

"What's wrong?", said Kai.

"My legs have fallen asleep.", said Jinn as he removed his legs from under him, stretching them out on the side of the bed.

Letting out a snort, Kai threw his head back, doing his best to hold in his laughter, "Ahhh, ouch!", he complained although he was still laughing.

"Shut up Kai.", Jinn rolled his eyes with a smirk.

"You are such a damn dork, why didn't you tell me your legs were going numb?", Kai continued to giggle.

"Because I didn't want to let you go.", said Jinn

"Where am I gonna go Jinn? Hmm? I can't even take a piss on my own.", Kai responded, letting out a deep breath as he finished speaking as his staples stung.

"…", not saying anything, Jinn leaned forward, so that their foreheads touched for a moment before he placed a kiss on Kai's lips. After one kiss Jinn smirked, closing his eyes, placing another, and another. With each kiss he couldn't help as the urge to smile increased, as he had been longing to touch Kai for quite some time. As Jinn brought his large hand to Kai's face, for a moment, he flinched before welcoming it, kissing Jinn back passionately and this time there was no hesitance.

Gently, sliding his hand down Kai's cheek while they made out, Jinn's hand made its way around Kai's long neck, caressing every inch that he touched. Stopping at Kai's throat for a moment, Jinn squeezed it lightly, before biting Kai's bottom lip and Kai let out a soft moan as he pulled away.

With his brows furrowed, Kai opened his pretty brown eyes as they intensely stared at Jinn, "don't stop.", he pleaded and Jinn bit his lip turning his head away, as he was too turned on to look at Kai anymore.

"I wouldn't feel right doing anything considering that fact I might end up hurting you.", said Jinn as he lifted Kai's shirt up to see the closed-up wound with the staples holding it together. "God it looks like it hurts, look how red it is.", said Jinn as he leaned down closer.

"I swear the staples hurt more than anything, once those are out, I should be fine.", Kai responded, removing Jinn's hand from holding up his shirt and holding it in between his own hands.

"When do I take you to get these out?" Jinn asked.

"They said I could come in on Wednesday."

"Okay then, maybe I'll touch you a little more then.", Jinn said with a smirk on his handsome face and Kai couldn't help, but to chuckle, but his smile soon faded.

"Jinn, I guess I should have already asked you this, but…what about Richard?", said Kai, lowering his head.

Squeezing Kai's smaller hand his, Jinn lowered his head momentarily before he looked back up at Kai. "He already knows that I still love you.", Jinn responded.

"You've told him who I am?", said Kai with a frightened look on his face.

"No baby, but he does know about you. You don't have to worry okay, just relax. Here, eat your breakfast, it's probably cold as shit now.", said Jinn, picking up Kai's food tray and placing it on his lap, lightly touching to see if it was still warm or not. With a smirk, Kai only watched Jinn, he most certainly did miss having him around.

"Can I ask you a question?", Jinn suddenly asked. Glancing up after stuffing food in his mouth, Kai nodded, with both brows raised. "You never told me the real reason you came back, do you really not know if you're staying or not?", said Jinn, a serious expression on his handsome face.

Chewing quickly and swallowing, Kai shook his hair out of his face before speaking. "To be honest Jinn, I came back because I needed to come back. Even though Tomo Kan was my boss, we spent a lot of time together. He became like the older brother that I never had, so he got to know the different sides of me that I swore I was hiding from everyone. He loved having me there, but he could see that I wasn't happy, so he told me to go home. He said that if I went home and I discovered that my place was in fact Japan, there would always be a job for me there."

"So you came back because of him, well that's good he gave you a push.", said Jinn lowering his head.

"No silly.", said Kai with that pretty eye squinting smile and Jinn quickly glanced back up unsure what he was saying. "I came back here for you."

Hearing those words, Jinn's lips parted as he closed his eyes momentarily realizing that, that was the reason Kai had gotten so mad when Jinn had angrily said, "did you think that you were gonna come back here and we were gonna just carry on happily because I said I would be here when you got back?" It also explained the reason that Kai had seemed so defeated all this time, he didn't expect to come back and find that Jinn had moved on. Jinn had made quite the fool of himself because Kai acted as if he didn't care, little did he know Kai was only respecting the relationship that he had been in.

"Jesus.��, he said under his breath before raising his head to look at Kai who had continued eating again, Jinn felt like a total jackass.

After Kai had eaten, Jinn gave him the pain medicine and like before, Kai had become quite tired and drowsy, falling asleep. Wrapping one arm around Kai, Jinn pulled him closer, kissing his forehead. As Jinn sat absolutely still, careful not to disturb Kai, his phone rang, but he quickly silenced it, glancing at Kai a moment before he glanced back at his phone. Looking at the now silent phone that he was intentionally letting ring, Jinn closed his eyes, letting out a sigh. Perhaps he was selfish, but he was grateful now that he and Kai were given a second chance and he swore that he would never just allow him to leave again. He would fight as long as he had to if there was a next time, Kai was his baby, his little sun, he just needed to figure out how he was going to explain that to Richard. Of course, they had broken up, so Jinn wasn't cheating, but Richard had referred to it as 'giving Jinn space', when Jinn had not intended on figuring things out, he had chosen Kai. Letting out another sigh, Jinn closed his eyes, soon falling asleep as well.

"Sppp….sppp!", Jinn woke to an annoying hissing sound in his ear. Opening his eyes to a bright room, Jinn squinted to see Saya standing in front of him with a wide smile on her pretty face. "Well, I see that you two are back on the same page.", Saya whispered.

"…", with a smile, Jinn nodded, glancing at Kai who was still sleeping for a minute.

"How's our baby? Did he eat today?", Saya asked.

"Yeah, he ate almost everything I made for him, but I think he feels better, once those staples come out, he'll be in pretty good shape.", Jinn responded.

"Yeah, unfortunately they hurt like hell, but the doctor said they help you heal faster, poor guy, but are you sure you can stay next week? I really don't want you to be going out of your way, I can always call my friend Rob.", said Saya.

"It's really no problem, I've put in for vacation time, but who is this Rob now?", Jinn asked with a raised brow.

"He is one of my friends from college, Kai had met him once, so they're acquainted, he's a good guy."

"Ahh, I see, but no I'll be here with him, we're good.", Jinn said with a smile.

"Alrighty then, well then go home and pack a bag or something while Kai's asleep, I'll sit with him while you're gone.", said Saya with a smile.

Glancing at Kai for a moment, Jinn cautiously removed his arm, before getting off of the bed. Slipping on his sneakers, Jinn glanced at Kai while he slept, for some reason he was hesitant to leave, like if he came back things would be different. "Jinn go, he's fine.", said Saya as she crawled into bed, placing herself next to Kai.

"…", letting out a soft sigh, Jinn nodded exiting the room and leaving out of the house. Quickly getting into his car and pulling off, Jinn hurried home. Even though he had just left, it felt like he had been apart from Kai for too long, and he couldn't wait to get back to him.

When Jinn arrived home, he rushed into the building, getting into the elevator. When the elevator got to his floor, Jinn power walked down the hall to his apartment building and paused when he got there. Standing there with a bag in his hand, raising his hand to the door, and nervously putting it back down like he was afraid to knock was Richard. Closing his eyes momentarily, Jinn continued walking to his apartment door, startling Richard as he hadn't heard him come up behind him.

"Oh Jinn, there you are.", he said nervously spinning around.

With an unreadable expression, Jinn unlocked his door, turning back around to Richard. "You alright?", Jinn asked, as he could see that Richard kind of looked a mess, as his eyes were puffy.

"Uh…well I just got out of class, it went pretty smooth today.", said Richard nervously lowering his head and then raising it again along with his hand, "I brought you some food that I made in class, I know how much you like my cooking and I already ate so I thought I'd bring it to you.", he continued. Reaching his hand behind him, Jinn opened his door, moving aside to let Richard come in. There was no way he had come all the way here on the bus at night after working all day, then going to class just to bring Jinn some food. This conversation was going to be hard to have, but it had to be done.

After the two walked into the apartment, Jinn grabbed Richard's hand, leading him to the couch and they both sat. For a moment there was silence before Richard finally spoke.

"You…you disappeared on me."

Letting out a deep exhale, Jinn turned to Richard who was already looking at him, his eyes watering. "Richard I…I.", Jinn stuttered as he struggled to find the words.

"Jinn please don't just give up on me, I know you still love him, but I love you more!" Richard said firmly.

Closing his eyes, momentarily, Jinn felt for Richard, he knew what it felt like to be given up on, but his heart belonged to Kai. "Richard I'm sorry.", Jinn apologized.

"That's not fair Jinn! I was the one here picking up the pieces that he left you in and not once have I tried to run out on you! You let me fall for you, but you never loved me!", Richard, jumped up from his seat, shouting as tears streamed down his face. He proceeded to storm away, but Jinn also jumped up, wrapping his arms around Richard, hugging him from behind and stopping him from leaving. Burying his head in the nape of Richards neck, squeezed him tight.

"It isn't that I never cared for you Richard. I just…I just."

"You just don't love me because you love him!", said Richard as he pulled himself away, turning toward Jinn and slapping him hard across the face. Surprised, Jinn quickly turned toward Richard with wide eyes before lowering his head, he didn't know what else he could even say at this point.

"He is the same piece of shit that left you the first time and he will leave you again! Don't expect me to be there the next time he does either!", Richard shouted, running with tears streaming down his face as he quickly opened the door and ran out. Once Richard was gone, Jinn walked over, closing the door shut and afterwards flopped down onto his couch. Richard was right, he had been there for him all this time, but the truth remained, he didn't love Richard. Letting out a sigh, Jinn placed his hands on his face dragging them down roughly. Although he was in a rush to get back to Saya's house to be with Kai, he had to sit for a minute. Jinn couldn't help, but to feel like he didn't deserve to be with either of them.
