One Year Later

Standing at gate B2 with her ankle height booties clicking as she jumped, Saya could hardly stand still. Her besties flight had landed about ten minutes ago and after a year, she was itching to see him.

With his suitcase trailing behind him, Kai stared straight ahead as he walked with a smile on his handsome face, man did it feel good to be home. As he walked through the sliding glass door Saya jumped for joy. "Oh my God! Kai!", Saya waved like a mad woman as she ran toward him.

Letting out a giggle, Kai put down his suitcase, extending out his arms, pulling Saya close to him and lifting her off of her feet. "Heya beautiful!", he squeezed the little woman tight.

"I missed you so much!" said Saya as Kai put her back down on the ground. "My goodness look at you! You look so good! You cut your hair and look at those little muscles!" said Saya, flirtatiously raising her brows.

Kai let out a cute giggle, "Well yeah I wanted a change, and my apartment building had a gym, might as well take advantage.", Kai said bashfully.

"You really do look good Kai.", said Saya reaching to hug him again for a second before letting go. "Well come on, you have quite a bit you need to catch up on.", said Saya as she made her way to the car with Kai behind her, the two getting in and pulling off.

"So I have some good news that I couldn't wait to tell you friend!", said Saya.

"Oh yeah?", said Kai excited.

"Well, I'm officially stationed in California, I'll no longer have to be traveling around from place to place."

"Hell yeah, I'm excited for you, I know you've been wanting that for a long time!", Kai responded.

"Yes, but you still haven't told me if you'll be staying yet."

Kai let out a nervous chuckle, "That's because I haven't decided yet, I don't know although Tomo Kan ensures me that I'll have a job if I decide to go back."

"What about your job here? Is that still available?", Saya asked, glancing at Kai for a moment while she drove.

"I've emailed my old boss, to talk about it, but since I was gone longer than I was supposed to be she couldn't hold my position. I'm gonna have to reapply and shit again.", said Kai.

"Ahhh, I see, well if you want, I could always hook you up with a job, it's not in your field, but it's something to pay the bills for now."

"True, true, although I don't think I'll have any trouble getting rehired.", Kai said with a smirk as he was even more confident in his skill. Saya let out a giggle as did Kai followed by a loud yawn. "Ugh, I'm jetlagged like shit.", Kai complained, yawning again.

"I've got your room all set up and stuff so you can crash as soon as we get home, I'll make you something good when you wake up.", said Saya.

"I appreciate you Saya.", said Kai with a cheesy smile and Saya pouted. "What?" Kai giggled.

"I'll only believe you if you don't go back to Japan.", Saya whined.

"Oh stop, I just got back, quit bothering me already.", Kai playfully scolded, but Saya only pouted harder with a smirk.

When the two made it back to Saya's house, Kai went into the room that she had nicely prepared for him, complete with welcome home balloons and his favorite colored black bed spread. With a smirk, Kai kicked off his shoes and allowed himself to fall onto the bed.

Forty minutes away, Jinn was having lunch with his Father.

"Art tells me that things have been going smoothly since you decided to come and help run the wine business.", said Mr. Wilkins.

"Art is good with the business aspect however he's not a people person, it's hard for companies to partner with a man they don't like.", said Jinn.

"Oh, he is not that bad.", said Mr. Wilkins letting out a chuckle.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night Dad.", Jinn chuckled as well

Mr. Wilkins let out a belly rolling laugh, "he is your brother, but I wanted to say I see how hard you have been working. You've been putting all your time into the business, maybe you should take a few days off, go have some fun with your friend."

"Dad I'm doing just fine, there is no need.", Jinn responded, sipping his coffee.

"Are you? I must say that sometimes I cannot tell, is he not making you happy?", said Mr. Wilkins, as he had been worried about his son for quite a while.

"Dad, he's fine, we are fine. I promise, don't worry about me." Jinn responded with that same reassuring, dimple revealing smile.

"…", nodding, Mr. Wilkins said nothing, all he could do was hope his son was happy.

After Jinn had spent a few hours with his Dad, he decided to drive back home. Realizing he had been too distant in the past, Jinn had decided to visit his parents more often and even step his foot back into the family business, hell, as long as his parents were satisfied.

As Jinn drove, his phone rang.

"Hello?" Jinn answered his phone with his car connected through Bluetooth.

"Hey love, I'm home."

"Alright, I should be there to pick you up in like twenty minutes, traffics not too bad.", Jinn responded.

"Okay, have you had dinner yet? Should we go to the market and pick something up? Want to have steak tonight?"

"Yeah, that sounds great, we can do that, I'll see you soon.", said Jinn.

"Okay babe."

On the other side of town Kai had just woken up and taken a shower, it was going to take him some time to get use to this major time change after a whole year.

"You ready Kai?", Saya yelled from outside the door.

"Yeah, just about.", Kai responded as he pulled a black V-neck t-shirt over his head. Smoothing down the shorter sides along with the back of his hair, Kai then ran his fingers through the longer top of his hair, effortlessly smoothing it to one side.

"Alright, I'm ready.", said Kai coming out of his room, sticking his phone and wallet into his back pocket.

"Okay.", said Saya and the two left the house, making their way to the car and pulling off.

"I said I wanted to make something really good for you, but I have no idea what the heck to cook. What are you hungry for?", Saya asked.

"It really doesn't matter, you know I'll eat pretty much anything as long as it taste good.", Kai chuckled.

"That's true, I forgot how greedy you are. It still amazes me that you can eat and eat yet you only put on weight if you start lifting.", Saya laughed.

"Quit bullying me Saya!", Kai whined.

"I promise I'm not Kai, that was a compliment, you look so good.", Saya laughed, patting her best friend on the knee.

"Whatever.", Kai said rolling his eyes with a smirk on his face.

As the two made it to the market, they grabbed a cart and began shopping.

"What kind of things did you eat when you were in Japan? Should I try to recreate a dish?", Saya asked as she browsed in the vegetable aisle of the fresh produce section.

"Uh…nah, just make whatever you like."

"Kai! I'm asking you because I cannot decide on what to make, help me out here!", Saya whined.

"Uhh, I haven't had grease dripping American style pizza in a long ass time.", Kai responded and Saya frowned.

"What?", Kai giggled.

"I'm willing to make you a nice fancy meal and you want pizza? My goodness well pizza it shall be, let me at least grab a few more things since you're home", said Saya making her way down the aisle with Kai following behind.

On the other side of the market, Jinn was pushing the cart, like a child he swerved it along as he pushed it.

"Jinn, Jinn!", Rich called out, startling Jinn as he suddenly stopped, turning around.

"Didn't you hear me babe? I have this cold ass steak in my hand, let me put it in the cart.", Rich complained.

"Oh sorry, here you push it.", said Jinn moving out of the way.

"Are you okay? You seem like your minds been elsewhere since you picked me up.", Rich asked. Jinn turned to his tan skinned, dreamy eyed boyfriend who had a worried expression on his face.

"I'm fine.", said Jinn allowing a smile onto his face, dimples present.

Smiling back, Rich poked Jinn on the forehead, "You better be, come on lets go grab some potatoes to go with our steak.", he said grabbing the cart and pushing it along.

As the two made their way over to the produce section Rich began picking the best-looking potatoes for their meal.

"Will you grab some onions babe? I don't think you have anymore.", said Rich and Jinn nodded. Walking over and picking up a plastic bag, Jinn began to get onions.

"Stop that before they kick us out!", a woman's voice giggled loudly a few feet behind him. As Jinn listened, he thought for a minute, he was sure he had heard that voice before. As the woman continued to scold whomever she was talking to, Jinn suddenly heard a familiar giggle that he wouldn't dare forget. Spinning around Jinn's heart nearly stopped beating. Standing in front of him was a pigeon-toed man in all black, his arms weren't as skinny and his hair was different, but there was no mistake, that was Kai! Completely dumbfounded, Jinn couldn't do anything but stare as he watched Kai walk closer to him, that same eye squinting beautiful smile.

Putting back the carrot that Kai had pretended was a penis, Kai finally looked up as he walked and his heart nearly fell out of his chest as he saw a familiar face, strawberry blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.

"Jinn.", he said softly as the two stared at each other wide-eyed.
