He Has A Type

As the countdown to work was near, Kai's mind couldn't stop running wild, sure it was just work, but they were going to be alone in Jinn's apart. "Eh, I doubt he'll even pay me any mind.", Kai giggled to himself. Clocking out and standing up, Kai turned around to see Jinn standing there quietly, just how long had he been there?

"Ready?", said Jinn raising both brows.

"Uh, I actually need to stop at home first, I'll be on my way after.", said Kai, proceeding to walk past Jinn, but Jinn stopped him.

"I don't mind Kai; we'll stop there and then head home…to my place." Jinn said awkwardly, continuing his sentence after a brief pause. Turning toward Jinn and that handsome unreadable face, Kai simply nodded not saying anything.

Exiting the building, the two made their way to Jinn's car and drove off.

Riding in silence, the two sat and Kai was trying his best not to draw attention to himself, so he pulled out his phone, continuously scrolling on his news feed, doing nothing in particular.

When the two arrived at Saya's house, Jinn parked and Kai quickly got out, "I'll be right back.", he said, but as he got out and closed the door, Jinn was doing the same. Staring at each other for a minute, Kai raised a brow.

"I just need to pee.", said Jinn with a smirk and Kai nodded, making his way up the steps and Jinn followed. Pulling out his key, Kai unlocked the door and went in with Jinn following.

Walking into the house, Jinn glanced around, Saya's living room was themed blue, tan and brown, the pillows and curtains color coordinated as well. "Is she home?", he asked.

"Nah, she get's home at like 8:00 o'clock.", Kai responded.

"Oh okay.", said Jinn, feeling a little more at ease, he was pretty sure Saya was going to wonder what the heck he was doing.

"Come on.", said Kai, making his way up the stairs and Jinn nodded following him. As they walked up the stairs, Jinn's eyes traced every inch of Kai, from his short hair, down his long neck, his slender back and his strong calves. Ever since Jinn had known Kai, he had always been slim, but his legs and arms were certainly more defined, and Jinn couldn't help but to stare.

"Shit!", Jinn yelled as he suddenly tripped, awkwardly catching himself and grabbing onto the banister for dear life. Hearing the loud thud behind him, Kai quickly turned around to see the mess that was Jinn getting himself together.

"What the hell? Are you okay?", Kai asked with a smirk on his handsome face, afterward sucking his lips inward and trying his hardest to hide the fact that he wanted to laugh, but the poor guy was failing miserably.

With an awkward smirk, Jinn stood up, clearing his throat, "I just missed a step."

Raising his hand to cover the silly grin on his face, Kai also cleared his throat, turning around and continuing up the steps, giggling to himself while Jinn felt like a dummy.

"The bathroom is there.", Kai pointed, opening his door and walking into his room. Nodding, Jinn walked toward the bathroom, closing the door behind him.

Taking a deep breath, Jinn puffed out his cheeks and let the air out slowly. "Jinn, pull your shit together.", he said softly, starring at himself in the mirror. Taking another deep breath and letting it out slowly, Jinn flushed the toilet, washed his hands and exited the bathroom.

Standing in the hallway for a second, Jinn did his best to peek inside the room, but he couldn't see Kai. Exhaling heavily, Jinn gutsily made his way into Kai's room. As Jinn walked in, he could see that Kai had changed his clothes, as he was pulling a shirt down over his slender back. Although his back was still slim, it was more defined and his pale yet rose tinted skin was as perfect as ever.

Shaking his head, Kai ruffled his hair a few times, tossing it to one side around and turned to see Jinn standing there.

"Shit, I didn't hear you come in!", said Kai, a bit startled.

"My bad.", said Jinn as he glanced around the room, that was pretty neat. The only things that were out of place was Kai's suitcase that he most likely hadn't unpacked yet and an unmade bed. Glancing at the bed for a minute, Jinn continued looking around until his eyes caught sight of a familiar little jewelry box sitting on Kai's beside table. For a moment, Jinn's eyes widened, and his lips parted, "he kept it!", said Jinn to himself knowing that there was only one thing in that little box.

"Ready?", said Kai making his way toward the door bringing Jinn back to reality.

"Mn.", Jinn nodded, not quite wanting to look away from the box, but grudgingly, he did so following Kai out of the room and down the stairs.

Leaving out of the house, Kai locked the door, while Jinn continued toward the car, unlocking it and getting in. For a moment Jinn watched as Kai made his way toward the car, but when he got in, Jinn directed his attention toward the road. If his mind wasn't on overload before, it most certainly was now.

In silence the two drove, Kai was simply doing something on his phone while every fiber of Jinn's being was telling him not speak, because if he did, only God knew what would come out of his mouth.

When the two made it to Jinn's apartment, they went in, getting into the elevator and getting off. From behind Kai watched as Jinn walked, those same broad shoulders showing through his clothes. God did this feel familiar, it felt like only yesterday that Kai was coming to Jinn's apartment for the first time to complete Tomo Kan's building and here they were again, fate sure had a strange way of keeping them in each other's life Kai thought.

Unlocking the door, Jinn went in and Kai looked around, everything was exactly the same as it had been when he had hurried out of here that day, not a thing had changed.

"You can make yourself at home, I'm just gonna go get changed.", said Jinn, but as he walked away he cursed under his breath, why the hell did he just say that?

Walking into the kitchen, Kai opened the fridge, grabbing himself a bottle of water and Kai couldn't help but to notice that all of the junk that use to be in there when they were together was gone. The fridge was only full of bottled water, fruits and vegetables, Jinn really had changed his diet for Kai. Letting out a sigh, Kai closed the fridge and made his way to Jinn's office. Kneeling down on the floor at the table in the room, Kai sat with his legs tucked underneath him as he began to set things up to his liking.

After Jinn had changed into regular clothes, he made his way toward the office to see Kai looking through and marking things on the large packet. As always, his eyes were squinted and his brows were furrowed, while he bit his bottom lip as he worked, the nostalgia in this moment was a little more than Jinn wished to handle, but he sucked it up and made his way into the office sitting himself on the other side of the table.

As Jinn sat down Kai let out a sigh, "What's wrong?", Jinn asked.

"Taylor has an interesting eye, it works, but it doesn't work.", said Kai as he placed the charcoal pencil up against his lip.

"She does, honestly when she took on this project, I told her she may need a partner, but she was determined to do it alone, it's her first solo project after all." Said Jinn.

"I see, I really do not feel right making changes, but..", Kai began to say, but Jinn cut him off.

"You have the sharpest eye, if it needs a change, then make it.", said Jinn as he picked up a ruler, a charcoal pencil and began sketching.

"Your confidence in me sure is something.", Kai said with a smirk, as he continued working.

"I know a gem when I see one.", said Jinn, not bothering to look up.

"…", Nonplused for a minute, Kai quickly looked up to see Jinn working with a smirk on his face. Directing his attention back to the large pad in front of him, Kai decided not to respond.

Hours had passed, and the sun had set while the two had been working diligently to complete Taylors project. Sitting up straight and rolling his shoulders back to stretch, Jinn took a glance at Kai, his eyes were wide as he played with his hair, something he did when he was tired.

Biting one side of his lip, Jinn reached over taking the pencil out of Kai's hand.

"Huh? What are you doing?", Kai said confused.

"You're tired, lets take a break.", said Jinn.

"It's fine, I probably shouldn't stay that late anyway, we still have work tomorrow.", said Kai reaching for the pencil, but Jinn pulled it back further.

"A small break won't hurt Kai.", said Jinn with that same warm reassuring smile, his deep dimples present.

Feeling his heart flutter Kai nervously looked away, and before he could speak Jinn's phone rang.

"Hello?", Jinn answered. "Oh shit you're outside? I forgot, I'll be right there.", said Jinn closing his eyes momentarily before standing up and placing his phone down.

"What's wrong?", Kai asked, as he noticed Jinn's relaxed demeanor had changed.

"My...my friend is here, I kinda forgot he was coming over.", Jinn responded awkwardly.

"Oh…well okay, we can pick it up tomorrow.", said Kai accidently dropping his pencil, and quickly picking it back up.

"…", not saying anything Jinn walked out of the room, letting out a sigh, where had his mind gone to lately?

In the office Kai quickly began cleaning the area they had been working in while he heard Jinn open and close the door. He could hear faint voices talking softly and he let out a sigh, this was most certainly the reason Kai wanted to avoid coming to Jinn's in the first place.

Practically throwing his things into his bag, Kai jumped up to see Jinn and his 'friend' standing in the doorway.

"So, you're Jinn's coworker, I think it was you I saw the other day in the market, right? Nice to meet you Kai, I'm Richard.", he said walking into the room with a smile on his face, reaching out his hand for Kai to take.

Letting out a soft sigh, Kai nodded accepting the handshake offered as his eyes traced every inch of Richard. With olive tanned skin, he stood a few inches over Kai and his frame was slender, his smile was pretty, and his eyes were dreamy, Jinn most definitely had a type. "Well it was nice to meet you, I better get going.", said Kai making his way toward the door, but Richard put his hands up like he was surrendering.

"Oh please don't go! I'm making dinner tonight and you're welcome to stay.", said Richard, a hopeful expression on his face.

"Oh no, I don't want to intrude.", said Kai chuckling nervously, hoping that, that would be the end of it.

"Oh please! I'm a culinary art's major and I've been practicing a lot and I could really use your opinion. Jinn is so damn biased, his opinion doesn't matter.", Richard insisted, letting out a cute giggle. Glancing at Jinn, Kai widened his eyes, hoping Jinn would get the hint to help him, but Jinn wouldn't even look at Kai, as he wore a 'sorry expression' on his face.

"Thank you, but I should really get going, maybe next time huh?", said Kai as he slipped past Jinn and Richard in the office, making his way toward the living.

"Okay, I understand. Next time then, you're not allowed to turn me down, okay?", said Richard following behind Kai as he hurried toward the door with Jinn trailing behind them both.

"Mn.", Kai promised although there was no way in hell he meant it. "Well I'm off, have a good night.", Kai nodded, opening the door and leaving out of the apartment. For a moment, Kai stood in the hall while he took a deep breath letting it out softly. Slowly, Kai made his way toward the elevator, allowing his feet to drag underneath him as he walked.

"Kai!", a familiar voice yelled behind, but Kai kept on walking.

"Kai!", the voice yelled again, and a hand grabbed his arm, turning him around.

"What?", said Kai staring at the ground.

"I'm…I'm sorry I don't know why I.."

"What are you apologizing for?", Kai interrupted Jinn, a smirk on his handsome face.

"Well...I..", Jinn said confused, as he was usually able to read Kai like a book, but for some reason this time he got nothing.

"It's whatever, go enjoy dinner with your boyfriend.", Kai said with that same pretty smile as he continued down the hall. Letting out a heavy exhale, Jinn turned around and made his way back to his apartment.

As Kai made it to the elevator, he pressed the button, but the elevator didn't seem as if it had registered, so Kai pressed it again, but still there was no response. "What the hell's wrong with this elevator!?", Kai cursed as he felt his eyes watering. Balling his fist, Kai punched the button and the elevator door suddenly opened. Getting on to the elevator, Kai exhaled heavily, leaning up against the wall as the door's closed.

"What the hell are you crying for Kai?", he scolded himself as tears streamed down his face.
