Chapter 72

After parking the car near the entry doors she ran inside to the front desk, there were several people behind it, and if not more just as many people on the front side checking in. 'I wonder how many rooms this place actually has?' she asked herself as she stood in line.

After a few moments she was standing in front of a rather charming middle aged man. He had a slight tan, and his brown eyes were glowing. "Miss, do you have a reservation with us?"

"Oh, yes." She quickly pulled out her phone, and opened up the email she received confirming her reservation. She tilted her phone so the man could see it, "Here it is."

"Ah, thank you." He quickly looked at the email before lowering his head to type the confirmation number into the computer, "Looks like your room is ready. It's going to be in the north wing." The man pulled out a map, and circled the wing, "You are on the 6th floor, and your room number is 682."

"Thank you."

"Just the one room key?"

"Yes."

"Okay." the man made quick haste with making the key, and then handed it to her in a shiny gold case, "We hope you enjoy your stay with us. Breakfast starts at 7am and goes until 10am. It's buffet styled, and is served in our main dinning hall on the East side of the hotel. He referred to the map again before handing it to her.

"Thank you." Mary flashed him a quick smile before turning around, and heading back to her car.

After parking, and taking her suitcase out from the trunk she made her way to the side entrance on the north side of the large hotel building. She quickly found the elevator, and made her way up to her room. It was decent room with a king sized bed, a dinning set with two chairs, a mini fridge, and an open bathroom. The shower had frosted glass that you could see on three sides. The toilet had it's own little room to give some privacy, but since Mary was alone that part didn't bother her. This place was perfect for her to clear her head. She tossed her luggage onto the one side of the bed before grabbing the welcome packet off the table. She jumped onto the other side and started to flip through it, looking at all the famous sights in the area, and optional tours that were offered. She soon found herself nodding off, and rolled onto her side before falling asleep.

At one in the afternoon Tom's plane landed, and since he didn't have to wait for any luggage he walked right to the front of the airport without paying much attention the his surroundings. He walked right towards the rotating doors, and pulled out his phone. He called Mr. X and after four rings it was picked up. Mr. X sounded tired, "Do you have any idea what time it is?"

"It's one here, so it's midnight there. That's not to late."

"That's what you think."

"Where is she?"

"She rented a car at the airport, booked at room at the Suki Hotel. Give me a second, I wrote the room number down somewhere." Tom could hear the shuffling of paper, "Room 682. Now don't call me for the next twelve hours!" Mr. X hung up this time, and Tom just placed his phone back into his pocket, and ran out into the cold weather. He hailed a taxi, and then told the driver to take him to the Suki Hotel.

After a short drive he found himself with another issue, how to get into her room. Just as he was about to call Mr. X back he thought of something himself. He smiled at his quick-wittedness, and walked up to the front desk, "Excuse me, did anyone help a lady with curly brown hair and green eyes not to long ago? Her name is Mary Sun, and she is staying in room 682."

A tan middle aged man raised his head and looked at Tom with a slight glare as if he was trying to figure out Tom's motives. Tom instantly knew that this man had helped her. He walked over to him, "Sir, my name is Tom Lang. Mary Sun is my girlfriend. My flight got delayed, and she told me to just get a room key from the desk."

Once the man heard this his facial expression softened, "Oh, well then I can help you with that."

Tom rubbed the back of his neck, "Yeah, I was really hoping to take her out to lunch, but since my plane was delayed I missed that chance. Would I be able to order room service for the both of us here?"

"Sure."

"Thank you! I appreciate it." Tom watched as the man made the room key for him, and then pull out a menu.

"Our chefs are currently serving lunch until 3pm. When would you like your food to be brought up?"

"She said she would be taking a nap because of the sudden time change. How about in an hour." Tom looked at his phone and saw that is was 1:40.

"I can arrange that." The middle aged man was smiling while Tom picked out a few dishes, a bottle of wine, and a variety of cheesecakes for dessert.

"I think that should do. Thank you again!" The gentleman handed over a map and the room key just after Tom said those words of appreciation. Tom then turned around to make room for the person standing behind him. He looked around the lobby and was amazed by the sheer beauty. Marble walls, decadent chandeliers made of gold, and multiple statues placed around the open area with a large water fountain in the middle. He leaned up against a pillar near the check-in area and opened the map. He decided to walk inside towards her room instead of heading back into the cold air.
