Chapter 52

Leo was absolutely shocked that Roy would offer up his assistant as 'Something sweet!' He quickly pulled her hand off of his lap and scooted away. Jamie lowered her head in embarrassment, and tears started to flow freely. She raised her hands to cover her face as she let out small sobs. Leo was torn between comforting this stranger or getting up to leave, but something told him that something was off. He moved closer to her, and patted her shoulder, "There, there. If you want we can say we did, but I don't want to hurt you." his words only made her sobbing worse. He started to panic, "Look you're very beautiful..."

"You think I am pretty?" she looked up to meet his ocean eyes.

Leo raised his arm and rubbed the back of his head, his cheeks turned slightly pink, "Yeah..."

"So why won't you..."

"I am man, I am not like that monster. I believe in courting a woman and cherishing her." he looked deep into her emerald eyes that were watery and noticed that her face had tear stains from her mascara. He took out his handkerchief and wiped away the stains, "Why do you stay when he does this to you?"

Jamie started to shake with frustration, "I wanted to prove to my parents that I could handle this type of lifestyle, but I have failed. Haven't I?" her hands curled into fists.

"I am sorry, I cannot give you that answer." he paused and thought about something, "But if you want, I can help you get out of this."

Her eyes widened, "How?"

He grabbed her hand, stood up, and pulled her to her feet, "I am going to tell Roy a little lie now, but I promise it will be in your favor. Take this, and wait for me." he handed her his car key. She looked up at him confused, but he turned around and headed out of the office.

After twenty minutes he came back with a box. As he walked closer she noticed that inside the box was her things, "What did you do?" she was full of so many different emotions that she didn't know what to say or do.

"You're free now, but I have a tiny favor to ask." he looked at the stunning lady before him, "Leave this place in my car. I will take you somewhere safe."

She had no clue who this man was or why he was so willing to help her. She was scared to move. Could she really trust a man after everything that Roy had put her through. She kept standing there like a doll thinking about what to do.

"Look, I know that we just met, but I cannot walk out this door without you. Please come with me."

Jamie blinked a few times, but suddenly walked towards him. "Okay." her voice was very light. She grabbed her box of things from him, and followed him to the door. He pulled it open, and let her go through first. Roy was standing next to Veronica when she came out, and he smiled at her. She simply held her head up, and continued to walk. Leo followed after her, then took a few large steps to her side. He casually placed his hand at her backside, and then pressed the elevator button. When the doors closed he removed his hand.

"Sorry."

"It's okay."

She followed him to his car, and he placed her box into the backseat before opening the passenger door for her. He then proceeded to walk to his side. He looked up at the building, and curled his fists, "I will tear this place to the ground." he then cleared his throat, and pulled his drivers side door open.

"Did you say something?" Jamie asked.

"Just talking to myself." he started the engine and turned to her with a smile, "Now where to? Are you hungry?"

"Not really..."

"Would you accompany me to dinner? We should celebrate your freedom."

As she heard this she remembered that her place was owned by Rong Real Estate. She lowered her head, "I suppose I can accompany you."

"Great!"

Jamie smiled as she came back to the present, "Leo, I don't think I could ever thank you enough. You accepted me even though I wasn't pure, and you even encouraged me to follow my dreams. I wouldn't be who I am today, if you never helped me that day."

"I was helping myself." he kissed her, "I was able to acquire your heart, and you blessed me with a lifetime of happiness and three beautiful children. Thank you." he kissed her again, but it was deeper and filled with passion, "Cera will be fine, honey. I just know it."
