The expected and the Unexpected

YUVI'S POV:

Next day came very soon the last day of my bachelor life. In the morning we went back to the house where my parents are staying as my mom instructed earlier I went into my formals...

I was directed to prayer room there I saw my cousins, my uncles, aunts, Aandal and sundhari too was there, other guests were present in the living area. The priest came and did rituals to Nuptial chain and Bride's wedding dress after the rituals they served me breakfast sundhari lead me to a room and asked me to take rest till evening as there are pre-wedding rituals in the evening actually I was expecting Aandal to come with me I don know why and now sid disappeared after coming here he seems to be weird from yesterday evening I don't know why.

After some time I went down as it was boring, it was lunchtime so they were serving the guests in the backyard I went and stood in a corner and searched for did, he was serving food so I thought of going on a house tour.

so I was roaming all around the house there were 6 bedrooms one was locked, kitchen, dining and a prayer room in the ground floor and then I went upstairs there were three rooms, I don't know what rooms they are, two of them were locked I think they are personal room of the house owner's family and another one was store room there was many olden day furniture was there. When I finished my house tour it was already 4 PM so I went down.

When I went down mom asked me to get changed into traditional wear.

After that sid was with me I think nearly at 7 we reached the hall, bride's relatives welcomed me with Aarathi(way of welcoming in India especially at weddings and functions) after that I was made sit in the Pavillion and soon my bride accompanied me they made her sit beside me all the guests started applying sandalwood paste on our cheeks and on hands and also blessed us through showering rice mixed with turmeric. It was 9:30 when the function got over.

We were asked to have dinner we had dinner together with other guests I tried talking with her but she did not respond to me, I was disappointed but what to do with that I put my head down started towards my room sid tried consoling me. When I crossed stage while returning from dining to room, I saw aandal and my father was sitting there accounting and settling payments to contractors actually I wanted to go there but sid said its already late and dragged me to the room.

I wanted to ask her who she is? why is she so important here? and doing all kinds of work here. I don't think she is just a worker because everyone here respects her. uffff! whatever let me enjoy the last night as a bachelor.

Slowly drifted off to sleep.

Next morning THE MOST EXPECTED MORNING no no no actually it was like night dad came and woke me up at 4 he asked me to take shower and change into simple attire for going to our ancestral temple when I came back from the shower and started drying my hair by standing near my room window and simply I saw down, there were two-three girls doing flower arrangement there, I noticed aandal in that group I don't know why but a small smile crept my lips.

Later we went to the temple and attended an hour of prayer session then after that we returned to hall the as wedding time was fixed at 7:30. So after some time, I changed into my wedding attire, I was a little nervous no no no hell nervous I don't know why but I felt it and also was happy at some part that I m getting married.

Then I was called to Pavillion on the way to Pavillion my father introduced Balakrishnan uncle who came today only. I don't know a lot about him but I know that he is my fathers best friend and also the one who helped in my wedding, then I was made sit before the holy fire and the priest instructed me some rituals and asked me to repeat some chants. I followed his instructions when I saw the guests Balakrishnan uncle along with aandal and sundhari was seated in the first row. She was beautiful! Godd! I shouldn't concentrate on them. so I returned my concentration back at the chants soon the priest said the most awaited line ...

"Bring the bride"...he yelled at the crowd.

My mom asked the bride's mom my soon to be MIL(mother in law ) to bring her.

We waited for her about 5 mins yet she didn't come so mom sent another one to see after them, after 5 minutes her mother came down crying with a letter.

"She went she eloped from here" said her mother and broke into a sob.

I stood shocked and went down near my parents I was shocked to the hell.

"What are you saying how can this happen she agreed to this marriage know? then what now?" my mom asked with overflowing tears.

"Sorry we forced her for this, she was in love with a guy" her father told.

My father grabbed his collar and shouted,

" How can you do this to us? don't you know why we are doing his marriage this early will you pay my son's life say answer me" he shouted at him.

Balakrishnan uncle went near him and tried to comfort him, another side aandal and sundhari were consoling mom, sid was beside me consoling me with few friends others didn't bother to help.

I don't know what to do I wanted to shout, shout and cry but I have no energy to do that. what's happening in my life I should have been more careful it was my fault for not confronting her yeah it was my fault...

I was in my thoughts worrying .. suddenly mom dragged aandal into a room followed by dad, Balakrishnan uncle and sundhari, what's happening now ???

Many gave me a pathetic look, it killed me to the core god!! What have I done? god!

After a few minutes dad and Balakrishnan uncle came back, dad told me to sit in the Pavillion I gave him a confused look.

"This marriage will happen everyone please sit and sorry for the inconvenience" he said facing the crowd.

He turned to me just told me "go and sit" sid took me to the Pavillion again, god! what's gonna happen now and again?

After a solid 20 mins, Aandal came as the bride with minimal makeup along with mom and sundhari they made her sit beside.

The priest gave me the nuptial chain and told me to tie it in her neck, I once glanced at my parents they nodded in assurance and looked into Aandal's eye for PERMISSION *note the sarcasm permission...

She gave me a small smile and nodded, the smile made my heart flutter for a moment, I don't know the meaning behind her smile.

In assurance with her smile, I TIED THE KNOT around her neck and did some rituals with taking our vows ...

FINALLY HOOKED UP!!!!

IT WAS TOTALLY UNEXPECTED...
