Hearing the voices coming from outside the kitchen, Scarlet walks out with the knife in her hand. "Hi, I wasn't expecting you two so soon," she said. She made hand motions while she spoke, waving the knife in the air.

Startled, Edie stepped back. "Scarlet, please be careful with that knife."

Scarlet completely forgot she was holding it. "Oh my goodness," she smiled and put it in Jason's hand. "Could you put this back in the kitchen for me?" she asked.

"What are you doing, waving a knife in your hand anyway?" Jason complained. "Are you practicing for the circus?" Scarlet's face turned beet red as Jason turned and walked back into the kitchen.
