Chapter 24

Mikan's POV

Lure and I just said goodbye to Yuna and her parents. We walk out of their door when suddenly I began thinking about her future self and I got worried again. I wonder how is she now?

It's good to know that auntie and uncle will always be there for her and support her. They both care a lot for her so she should be okay.

(Phew!)...I'm so glad we visited her today. It gives me relief.

"So how is she?", I heard a familiar voice from a short distance asked.

Huh?

When I turn my head I saw Akira standing there, not so far from us with his left hand in his pocket. He stares at both Lure and me and he lightly smiling at us.

Uh! My blood boils just by seeing him. I hate that fake smile on his face.

Now that I'm reminded, I hate the fact that he lives just right next to Yuna's house. It's very impossible that their paths won't cross. It will make it more difficult for Yuna to move on.

" You? What are you doing here?", Lure asked with an intense face and with a displeased tone.

I forgot, she doesn't know yet that he lives right next to Yuna's house...

"Just ignore him Lure..." I said as I grab her right arm and pull her away from him but we pause when Akira gets a hold of her left arm.

Lure turns her head on him with a sharp look in her eyes.

He looks into her eyes then he began to speak.

"I am still the closest person to her..." He said closing his eyes with a half-smile on his face.

I look at Lure and she is very displeased with what she heard. She throws a sharp glare on him.

I understand how she feels. I let go of her right arm.

Is he taunting her? He obviously means something with those words.

Is he trying to make her jealous?

"Come on Akira...What is your intention now?" I said because I was already enraged by him.

He ignored me and just look straight at Lure...

"Are you really serious about her? I know she is nice and all but still both of you are girls. That can't be real."æ

"Oh really! coming from you. Do you really know what love is? Yuna loves you so much but you only hurt her." I said in a sarcastic tone.

Akira turns his head on me but his facial expression change.

"I wonder if you know something..." He said talking to me but Lure cuts him off.

Lure removes his hand from her arms and looks at him with a straight face.

"You know nothing." She said. Then Akira and I both look at her as she continue talking.

"I don't care about your past with her but don't you dare get in my way. Don't you dare get close to her...Yuna is mine." Lure said fiercely looking at him in the eyes and then she turns her back on him and walk away.

After hearing those words from her Akira seems speechless. I smirk looking at him.

Bad for you, the person you are in love with is only crazy in love with the girl you just dumped.

I just look at his face to wait for his reaction but I'm surprised when he let out a sly smile.

Uh! What is in his mind?

He straightened up his body.

"I see...but do you really know who you are in love with? Are you sure it's her?"

Lure paused and just stand there while my stare remains on him wondering...

I wonder what does he know?

***The next day

Yuna's POV

I just walk out of our door

(sigh...) Do I really have to go to school?

If it's not because of my promise to Mikan and Lure...

(sigh...)

I still feel down.

"Yo!"

"Huh! Akira?"

I raised my head and I see him standing in front of our house in his uniform, he raised his left hand to say hi. My heart starts aching again.

What is he doing here? Did he wait here for me?

He walks towards me then he stopped two steps in front of me.

"I don' know if it's right for me to ask...Yuna will it be okay if I stay as your friend even we broke up?", he asked intently looking into my eyes.

"A friend..." I whispered.

I don't know if I can do that if I am still in love with you.

"Yuna you can still talk to me and rely on me...even though I am not that reliable in the first place."

"Please don't say that...you know you are the one I talked to with everything before all of this. You are the one whom I shared all of my troubles...the one who is always with me since then...so if you will stay as my friend that still makes me happy."

I feel like I am almost in tears...

"It will make me happy as well..." He said with a smile while closing his eyes. He turns around. "Let's walk together to school then..."

Ah...

Without thinking, I raise my hand wanting to reach him. I wonder if it will be okay...I want to touch him but I pull away. Whenever I think that deep in his heart it's not me...

I was in deep thought when suddenly a black car stop in front of us.

"Huh?"

Akira and I standing there looking at this luxurious car in front of us.

A man in a black suit came out from the driver seat door then he walks around to open the door in front of us while bowing.

Lure came out in her uniform. She is standing there and looking at us. Her face looks so displeased.

She started walking towards us but she ignores Akira. She just walks past at him to approach me.

She stared motionlessly straight ahead at me.

"Yuna why are you with him?" She asked in a bit annoyed tone.

All of a sudden her eyebrows curled against each other, and her eyes widened with grief.

I know she is upset but I was a bit surprised.

She got surprised and snapped out when she saw how I reacted as well.

Her head falls a bit.

"Yuna I'm afraid...what should I do..." She said as the sound of her voice slowly goes down.

Somehow I feel a bit hurt seeing her head down.

"Did you come here to pick me up? thanks, Lure..."

I said with a smile my eyes closed trying to cheer her up.

"I guess I'll just see you at school."

Akira said turning his back on us and started walking.

There are words I want to say but I just keep it to myself.

I got in Lure's car. I saw Akira on the way, walking at the side of the road. My eyes still follow him as we passed by on his side.

I close my eyes and took a breath in...

"Oh!"

I had a sudden realization and got quite a jolt when I turn my head and see Lure is actually sitting right beside me. I turn my head straight.

I wonder what she feels now.

I slightly tilted my head and move my eyes to my side. I tried to take a peek at her face to check how her face like...

Is she upset? She is so quiet. Her eyes just focus straight in front and her face is absolutely blank.

It is still hard to comprehend and embrace the reality that we are in a relationship.

I know I said last night that I choose her and I will make her happy but how will I stand by what I said...Aside from the fact that we are both girls ...she is still a stranger to me.

...and by the way where is Mikan? She always picks me up so that we could go to school together...
