Cen, Ryo, and Marshy

Sitting at a table in the far-left corner in the cafeteria, the three girls sat quietly before Cenexia broke the awkward silence.

"So, I'm a third year, what about you two?" She asked and waited for our reply while reaching over Akane's arm and taking the last half of the pizza on her plate. "Sorry, were you gonna eat this? No? Your welcome." The blonde grinned. Ryoko grinned while Akane just gave her a defeated look.

With a sigh the black-haired girl responded, "We're second years. Ryoko and I have a few of the same classes together." Cenexia nodded thoughtfully.

"Good to know," She flipped her hair over her shoulder, unknowingly hitting the person sitting behind her.

"Oi, you brat, what do you think you're doing?" The male growled. Ryoko paused, blinking thoughtfully before jumping up and pointing at him.

"It's you!" She yelled, catching the attention of half the cafeteria. "Oops…Didn't mean to yell that loud." The male, who had been facing the wall, slowly turned around and stood up, having recognized her voice.

"It's you." He muttered, looking straight into her eyes, refusing to look away. Feeling uncomfortable, the red head broke her gaze and hesitantly lowered her arm. "Well, weren't you going to shout out your undying love for me in front of the school?" He smirked, "Seriously, you save someone once and they think you're their hero." A tick mark appeared on Ryoko's forehead.

"Un-undying love? What? No way, I was gonna say that the next time you tell someone to move, try to be somewhat polite about it." She said, her voice challenging him to retort. Obliging with her dare, he quickly changed his demeaner.

"Well, lil brat," The raven-haired male started, "Don't you have somewhere to be? Like, I don't know- a trashcan?" A roar of laughter was heard from the surrounding tables, people thankful that they hadn't been the ones insulted.

"Turkey," the red head muttered. "Did you know that turkeys are so stupid, that they'll lift their heads up and drown in the rain? Well, that's your new nickname; Turkey." With that, she grabbed ahold of Akane and Cenexia's arms, and left the cafeteria. Cenexia pulled her to a halt after having enough of being dragged around, Akane trying to tell the red head that her grip too hard.

"Good job showing him who's boss, but won't you get targeted?" Cenexia asked. Akane nodded in agreement.

"It might get a little bit bad…will you be alright?" She asked nervously. Ryoko paused, considering their question.

"Sorry…I guess I kind of dragged you guys into it, didn't I?" Cenexia smirked.

"Oi, don't apologize. It seems kind of interesting, ya know, who knows what's going to happen next. Don't worry, I'll take them down in under five seconds if they come at you. Trust me on that." Ryoko nodded.

"Oh, trust me Cen, I believe you." The blonde paused.

"Cen?"

"Yeah, I figured you needed a nickname. I usually suck at names, so like, yeah…do you mind?" Ryoko asked. Cenexia shook her head.

"I like it! What about you and Akane? You can be Ryo, or Ko…" She laughed. While Ryoko pouted. Akane smiled hesitantly at their liveliness.

"Doesn't 'Ko' mean child?" Akane questioned, Cenexia quickly answering.

"Yeah, isn't it cute? But I like Ryo a little better, so your welcome." She grinned, Ryoko putting her hands together in gratitude.

"Phew, I was scared for a minute there," the red-head joked, going along with Cenexia. "Thank you, ma'am." Cenexia then turned to Akane.

"So, like, you're totally a marshmallow, all cute and sweet." Ryoko nodded in agreement.

"Completely. But marshmallow ain't much of a nickname, so what about Marshy?" Akane awkwardly stood there, messing with the pockets of her hoodie.

"I'm good with that…" She muttered quietly, "I mean, if you like it." Cenexia nodded in approval.

"Marshy it is then." The bell rang, causing the three to jump, startled, before Ryoko and Cenexia laughed, and Akane chuckled quietly. "I guess it's P.E, don't all three classes combine for P.E? I forget." Akane nodded.

"Let's go together, I mean please. If you want…we don't have to." The black-haired girl awkwardly said. Ryoko grinned and grabbed her hands.

"You can chill out ya know, we don't bite. Or- Cen does, but I'll protect you, so don't worry." Ryoko grinned, sending a peace sign Cenexia's way as said girl pretended to snap at her. Akane smiled hesitantly, before slightly relaxing her shoulders. "Now let's go- oh snap."

Akane quickly finished her thought. "We're late, aren't we?" Cenexia checked a clock that conveniently happened to be there and took off down the hall yelling at us to hurry up. Glancing at each other, Ryoko and Akane quickly started running after her.

Upon arriving at the gym, all the classes had already been split up and they were getting ready to play some type of game involving- oh. Dodge ball. Terrifying. The gym teacher walked up to them, looking ready to yell when Cenexia pushed down Akane and Ryoko's heads down into a bow.

"We apologize for being," Cenexia was cut off when she pushed down a little too hard on Akane's head, and the girl tripped, falling forward. Cenexia stared at her for a moment before bursting into giggles, while Ryoko closed her eyes and pretended not to notice the commotion. Akane quickly stood up, mumbling words of apologies before bowing again, this time managing to stay upright.

"Whatever," Mrs. Cole spat out, "Just get ready for the game. You'll be on the same team, try not to screw up." Ryoko looked at her two new friends, desperately praying that they would all get through this alive.
