1 CHAPTER ONE

Mara's POV

The beginning of the schools semester was one of the most dreaded moments in my life life.Well my high school life that is if we leave outside my poverty life at home.

Ohhhh forgive my chattering,my name is Mara Rose and if you came to my school The Drama High school you would find me by the name of "Ugnerd."I know your not wondering what that name means but must incase anyone out there is clueless its actually a combination of the words ugly and nerd hence combined it becomes " Ugnerd.

Am a girl of about 5'5 slim body and long blonde hair that curls to the end near my waist.Apart from my hair which is the only noticeable thing about me are my blue oceanic eyes that have a ring of red around them making people lose themselves staring at me.

Now back to the story about why the first day of the semester is my most dreaded day.I guess your already assuming I hate school well I don't blame you who wouldn't. When am actually an 19 year old girl who dresses in ripped jeans to big for her,baggy shirts with just holes and with no make up on her face since she was born.

In other words I dress like a nerd and am one at a point. Well my reasons for hating the first week are

1.I never have new clothes to show off.

2.The schools ice queen beauty is always ready to pounce on me (actually beauty is an understatement .....in short I have a crush on her but would rather die before anyone knows that.)

3.Adjustment to my working program to the night shifts.(Yeah duhhhh am working I come and live in poverty remember .

"Earth to Mara are you there girl???" Jams voice woke me up from my daydream.

"Ohhhh yeahhh....am go...ood !!" I answered as I turned to look at Jake apparently the school hottest guy and my only friend in this school ....not best friend remember that people;!!!!!!

Behind him stood his friends or minions as he would whisper to me at times when we talked.They stared at me with menacing glares that I swore if looks killed I would have been dead centuries ago.Swallowing hard my bitter saliva as I raised my contacts to my eyes to break the eye contact and turned back to look at Jake who still stood there looking at me like a kid due to his 6'0 height with a grin on his face as he trailed his gaze up and down my body and when he knew he caught him staring he looked at me and started laughing.

"Hahaha Mara don't worry and if your shy to ask yes I did see something that I liked." He then clapped his hand still having a grin on his face as he walked away but he whispered "See you during lunch???"

I instantly felt heat rush through my cheeks as I became tomato red as I felt myself being pushed against lockers reminding me of my torments.

"Huhhhh nice day for me ahead " As I tried being sacarstic.
