1 Why Did I Trust Her

"How does this even make sense, they live in the 21st century but she's not allowed to work?!" It's a good thing Song Lin's roommate was out because of a dinner party otherwise her image would've been ruined. Even her monthly exams hasn't gotten Song Lin this frustrated.

Song Lin stared at the empty wall behind her laptop before calming down. She was assigned to one of the newer dorms so the walls were a bit thicker, otherwise someone would be heard complaining about the noise levels right about now.

Song Lin felt her eyes starting to droop, holding back a yawn she glanced at the time, 3:45. Not believing her eyes, she rubbed her eyes and checked again, 3:46.

'...**** it's Monday today, I still have classes in a few hours.' Song Lin hurryed into the bathroom after recognizing reality. She quickly completed her nightly routine.

It was 4:15 when Song Lin settled into her fluffy blanket and closed her eyes. It was quiet for a couple of minutes but sleep seemed to be avoiding her, usually she would fall asleep within 5 minutes but Qing Lin kept haunting her thoughts.

Why did she listen to A-Hua and read the novel that A-Hua has been talking about non-stop. She, of all people, should've known that popular novels doesn't mean good story.

Song Lin looked at the other bed, no one was in the dorm room besides herself. She opened her phone but was reminded of the time, 'people should be asleep right now.' Song Lin thought through her options: complaining at the public forum, posting comments on each chapter, write a review for the novel or spam A-Hua's messages. 'Posting a review would be the best, most people read them before making their decision to read or not,' she thought as she got out if bed.

Sitting herself back at her desk, she reopened her laptop, the novel "Overbearing CEO Won't Let Me Go" was still opened at its latest chapter. Released 4 hours ago, containing a bit over 300 comments, and many fans asking for updates.

"...I don't even know where to start with all this...love the story has got," mumbling under her breath she scrolled through the comment section. 'This is too much, I should be sleeping but these fans tricked me into hoping for something better. I can't let them do this to more people.'

Song Lin thought for a second before the clicking sound of the keyboard filled the room.

SLin - [This story is full of plot holes, the female lead - Yu Zhenzhen (YZ) - and all the other characters were forcibly made dumber than the male lead - Ao Tian (AT) - just so he SEEMS smarter than everyone!! His parents somehow dies without an explanation outside of saying it was some "terminal illness" which made AT take over the Ao group at a young age. YZ was somehow lost in the middle of a highway after drinking at the reunion party and met AT who came home late from work. How did she even walk to the middle of the highway when the party was held in the middle of the city and she lived on the same city?? AT who is then "indifferent to everyone" suddenly felt like helping this girl who he doesn't know and clearly drunk, either a person that has some moral standards or...a creep. He sent her to HIS house that supposedly "no one but the cleaning auntie that visits once a week for an hour" is allowed in. His bedroom is off-limits to even the cleaning lady, he has lots of guests room with all the basic essentials, and YET he decides to let a drunk unconscious girl stay in his bed. He didn't do anything but seriously? You had options. He somehow noticed YZ's friend, Qing Lin (QL), who sent messages to YZ's phone asking if she is alright. AT was somehow able to unlock YZ's phone and reply to QL's messages, QL then falls in love with AT?? Can people even fall in love after a few text message? AT then rejects QL but asks more about YZ, creep confirmed. YZ for whatever reason had her address and name written somewhere and AT found it. He sent her back in the morning before she woke up because that makes so much sense, can't wait a few more minutes before she wakes up. QL was at YZ's house explaining to her parents that she's safe and saw AT. AT starts sending gifts to YZ who was super confused until QL explained what happened because YZ doesn't back-read messages on her phone. YZ avoids AT because QL likes him but AT became increasingly annoying. He later finds out that YZ avoids and tries to cut off the "relationship" with him because of QL and got QL fired. QL can't get another job because "that's too easy on her" even though she's supposed to be a "top buisness and administrator master's degree" holder. Like you got where you are by your own ability but somehow this guy was able to repress you with one word. How much more useless can QL get? Helped introduce YZ to AT, made sure YZ was safe, let AT be confident in his "love" for YZ, before giving up on her life and let YZ not need to think about her- what? A capable business woman become so stupid and her own good friend has a great relationship with her crush. YZ and AT ended up overpoweringly defeating every major businesses and become the richest couple. But QL seriously can't put up a fight?! Even with the world's setting be all over the place. What the heck is this, why make QL smarter than YZ in the beginning if she ends up dumber than YZ and AT?? I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORY!!!]

Enter. It only took seconds after the review uploaded for the author's loyal fans to mass disliking Song Lin's post. 'Sure enough, these people didn't even read, it would've taken at least a minute to finish.' She refreshed the page and started reading the comments.

FirstReader - [Some people have no life, taking time in the middle of the night just to type some nonsense about this hidden gem]

Seconds - [SLin probably didn't read the novel :p]

TripleScoop - [How dare you talk **** about my Ao Tian. You wished you were Zhenzhen!]

FortiePie - [You're jus-]

The laptop screen blacked out. Song Lin who was in the middle of reading, spaced out for a few second. She then remember that she was supposed to charge it before bed to take notes later. She grabbed the charger on sitting at the side of her desk. It took her a few tries to plug the charger in properly but the screen lighted up very quickly indicating that it's restarting. The logo played on the screen, a loading bar filling up at the bottom, and sparks flashed in the corner of her eyes.
