Chapter 38

(A/N: Sorry but also not sorry for the late update. I was in Las Vegas. Now I'm back with a low-quality chapter. The next few chapters are…... Strange, but they'll come together soon enough..... I also have finals coming up so the updates as of now will not be very stable....)

Dimly lit, the bedroom had a sort of serenity to it. Calm and peaceful. Besides the gaping hole in the ceiling. Just ignore that. Please. The room was mostly bare besides a giant bed and table. The bed was huge and fluffy, with countless pillows stuffed across it and neatly folded blankets. Blue and violet in color, the color scheme was quite a contrast for the room. The table was a dark shade of brown, wooden, with intricate details carved into its legs. But what was the most interesting, that truly showed this place was quite rich, was that the bed and table were surrounded by water. A man-made river of water had been created to circle the bed and table, about knee-deep, the water was crystalline and sparkling, with candles and petals bobbing up and down gently within the water. Rich….

Plopping down at the side of the bed, Yun Xie clasped his hands together, looking at Huai Ren and Shuangyan, who were a little confused. Clearing his throat, Yun Xie explained why they were here. "Ok, so….. This place is a rich city of sorts, apparently, it is also one of the Soaring Immortal Sects many 'secretive' bases in the Mortal Emperor World...."

The two gasped a little, knowing the significance of this. If it really was a base of the Soaring Immortal Sect then…..

"To think….. This would be the case. How-" Li Shuangyan spoke grimly and curiously, before Yun Xie interrupted her.

"Well, that part is unnecessary information. Now the more important part is that this place is rich. Besides all the relaxation and luxury, we'll also be doing something else...." Yun Xie smirked, as in his hand, a small potato appeared.

It was a strange potato, though it looked fresh and plump, its shape was quite weird…. Reminiscent of an ancient Moai Statue, it had a humanoid face, with a long nose, no eyes, and a grim expression. Of course, it was still a potato and did not seem to possess any human-like traits that would make one repulsed, like the Surprise Apple, which had actual eyes….. Honestly, Yun Xie would never want to try one, even though they were supposedly delicious. A screaming apple? Hell no.

He took out another one and threw both of them to Nan Huai Ren and Li Shuangyan respectively. They were warm and extremely fragrant, and as Huai Ren bit into them, his eyes widened. It was a heavenly experience, the potato had a soft creamy texture, with a hint of saltiness, the skin slightly crunchy to the teeth.

They chewed and chewed, obviously extremely delighted with the food before Huai Ren asked something. "Seriously, Senior, who are you….?"

"This is Verdant Emerald City. They are all rich. We got delicious potatoes. What do you think?" Yun Xie laughed a bit as if what he was implying was some common everyday knowledge.

"Umm….." Li Shuangyan was thoroughly confused.

"We are going to sell Moai Potato and Garara Gator Meat Clam Chowder. Simple, right?" Rolling his eyes, Yun Xie acted like this was common sense, snapping his fingers.

"By the way…. Who's house is this?" Huai Ren asked, looking around at the fancy bedroom.

"Dunno." Yun Xie disregarded that and spread a huge map on the table. "Now... Let's start." He smirked.

"Creak...."

All of them whipped around, looking at the bedroom door, as a servant looked at them, his mouth gaping.

"....."

"..."

"..."

"This does not look like you think it does..."

"INTRU-!!!!!!"

"Okama Kenpo: Don't Mind My Fist!" Yun Xie suddenly appeared before the servant, directly punching him in the face. Oh Come My Way Karate, or Okama Kenpo was the work of a genius, even though Mr. Bon Clay was quite the weirdo, he was still awesome in Yun Xie's opinion.

His Nen Archive was handy to find funny but practical moves like this. Okama Kenpo was a favorite of his, due to its practicality and….. Straightforward attacks? Well, one of them required you to spin around approximately 320,000 times to deliver a kick and another, to fall at a 45-degree angle, strange, but in the end, they were cool, and no one could tell Yun Xie otherwise.
