Chapter 1: Sunset Of New Beginnings

The Nine Realms, Mortal Emperor World

The crimson sun cast its grand rays across the lush earth, and the azure-blue sky seemed to shimmer. Within the Hundred Cities region of the Mortal Emperor World, known for its stunning grand civilizations and monumental architectural feats, sat a small grassy hill.

It was nothing special, a mound of coarse dark-brown dirt further covered in a lush blanket of succulent green grass. Overhead, musty-grey sparrows flitted about, swirling and diving throughout the trees with aerial prowess unmatched among its fellow bird peers. A small brown-speckled rabbit ran about playfully down the hill, its naive little eyes sparkling with joy.

While the natural scenery was stunning and all, a pocket of the wilderness in a place mostly devoid of such serenity, there was something else that stuck out like a sore thumb. In the middle of this fun-little grove, on that small hill, was a person and a block of wood.

The slab of wood had been haphazardly stabbed into the dirt, bold ink calligraphy written vertically across its surface.

Meanwhile, the person seemed to be fast asleep, the wooden "sign" casting shade over his upper body. It was rather uncharacteristic of the region for anyone to camp or rest here. Practically blasphemy. Putting aside the large Sect's and Kingdoms, there was practically always a city within an hours walking distance.

Why would one be foolish enough to sleep outside civilization's protective walls, where Heavenly Beasts and other threats lay when you are literally in the most colonized place in the world? But of course, no one was around to insult him, so he slept on.

The person napping was a lanky-tall man, about six feet tall, with slender arms and long legs. He was a rosy-pale complexion, showing much more health and vigor than most snow-white young masters and mistresses around.

He was quite the looker too, a small and sharp face filled with dry charm. Slim long nose, light eyebrows, along with a wry smirk on his face. A vast silky mane of ink-black hair fell along his muscular chest, wispy bangs falling down his face like a waterfall as he snoozed to his hearts content.

His dress was quite simple, consisting of a pair of rugged bamboo sandals on his feet, black hakama pants, and a plain dark-blue robe of sorts.

This carefree youth was a man by the name of Yun Xie. Yun as in cloud, and Xie as in scorpion. It was a rather strange name that was definitely not created in five minutes with absolutely no context at all.

Putting that aside, Yun Xie was a rather special person. He didn't seem to possess genius-level intellect or other talents at a first glance. In fact, to any passing Cultivator, he seemed as normal as could be. A complete mortal with no foundation, or anything of that sort.

And that was indeed true. From the carpet definition of "mortal" in this world, he was one. An ant before the feet of the cultivators who was so irrelevant that he had no worth other than to praise and worship.

But that wasn't… Exactly the case. The self-proclaimed Sect Leader of the recently established Tiny Hill Sect, Yun Xie, was not from this universe. He hailed from a different universe where everything around him now was once a compilation of digital text on one's computer screen.

Yun Xie was a transmigrator from another world. Twenty-years ago, he'd fallen asleep exhausted on his cozy mattress, only to wake up in the midst of an ancient forest. Completely bare of any clothes, the only thing with him was a simple paper note with a collection of abilities he supposedly possessed on entering the then terrifying world.

And with this, he was thrust forth. Near death had been a constant as he navigated through that beast-filled forest, learning the ways of that world. At least, that was what ideal character development would have felt like.

Instead, this happened:

Day 1

"sUpEr SaIyAn BlUe!!!"

He regretted yelling that out loud. It was rather embarrassing. But the hair actually wasn't as bad as he thought. Sure, he felt and looked like an American convenience store popsicle with a tad too much food coloring, nevertheless, there was some charm to it.. Did he also say how powerful he felt?

Day 2

[Avada Kedavra]

Felt like Voldemort. It was throwing beams of green magic about.

Day 3

[Almighty Push]

Deforestation was at an all time high.

Day 4

[The World]

Stopping time was cool.

So, in all his anti-climatic glory, Yun Xie had ascended to the top of the food chain with no effort whatsoever. No character development or hardship. Just pure power and a copious load of cringe to top it off.

Before he even knew what universe he'd landed himself in. But sure enough, the time quickly came as he ventured into a city. There were countless clues. The myths of Immortal Emperor's, wandering cultivators, not to mention the name of the world was "Mortal Emperor World".

The bells rang in Yun Xie's head. From a web novel hated by some, and loved by others, he had transmigrated to the world of Emperor's Domination. It was a Xianxia filled with a copious amount of things that made most others in its genre feel as bare as the Sahara Desert.

It was also extremely dangerous. At least, it would have been if Yun Xie hadn't crossed over with literal hacks. He could become immortal, kill everything in one punch if he wanted, and travel the world in an instant.

But Yun Xie was far too patient to do such. Throughout the years, he had seldom used any other transportation besides his feet and sandals. With such a beautiful world around him, wasn't it best to just take the scenic route? Why rush when you have so much time?

So, the Tiny Hill Sect Master slept the afternoon away, his snores rather faint. The Sun began to descend below the horizon, and the orange-purple glow of sunset illuminated his little grove. Finally, after a good five hours of rest, Yun Xie woke from his slumber.

Pupils large and clothes rumpled, he patted them off, getting to his feet. A flourish of his right hand caused a cone straw farmer's hat to appear. Yun Xie gave loose a low yawn as he plopped the wide-brimmed hat on his head.

It was a nice nap. Now, what would he do for the rest of the evening? His storm-grey eyes squinted off into the distance, through the facade of tree branches. There were so many places he could go and wanted to go too.

For now though, he wanted to grab a little something to eat.

Considering the slab of wood for a moment, Yun Xie shrugged. The Tiny Hill Sect… It was a lame joke of sorts he'd made just before he fell asleep. There wasn't much to it, but he honestly felt it had some charm.

Reaching out, Yun Xie yanked it out of the dirt with a single hand, watching as grains of gravel spilled through the thick grass below his feet. Propping it on a shoulder, he walked away from the small hill and the grove, off to new adventures.
