Chapter 1: Dare Accomplished
"Okay.. I dare you to prank the school's badboy, River by pushing him in the pool during the party" my bestfriend Katie ordered.
"What?! Have you lost your marbles?! You're going to get me killed" I yelled shifting from my bed so I was sitting up.
"Oh come on, a dare wouldn't hurt.. besides the party is tomorrow night so you atleast have a day to think of a way to lure him near the pool." She smirked while I rolled my eyes.
"No wa-"
"Bubble tea the day after, my treat!"
"Deal"
I groaned recalling the stupid dare I decided to accept. I was now looking at my reflection infront of my mirror seeing the same girl but wearing make-up which is a smokey eyeshadow in which highlights her grey eyes. Her used to be pink plump lips was now coated with dark red lipstick on her pale face, her once huge doe eyes were now slightly bigger because of the wing liner that stayed on her lids.
Her strapless black dress that shows her long pale legs since it stopped on her mid thigh as it shows her curves. Her midnight black hair was now loose into beautiful curls that stopped in the middle of her back.
"Saph! For the love of God you look really gorgeous now let's go!" Katie yelled from downstairs. "I'm coming! geez chill woman" I grumbled as I picked my purse and walked down the stairs wobbling on this death traps that you call "heels".
Once I stopped on the last step a gasp had forced me to look up. "Sweetie you look really pretty" mom complimented while helping me get my balance back. I smiled "thanks ma" I said kissing her cheek.
"Anytime love, now be sure to come home before 12 okay? I'll try to cover you from your dad as much as I can " She giggled fixing my hair. Dad didn't know about the party and I made sure that he won't be able to find out because if he does.. then I'd be grounded till I turn 50 or older... kidding, I hope...
"Got it ma, thankfully Ry and Ty aren't here or they'd just be like dad. I mean Gold would be happy but those two. Yeah no" I scrunched my nose causing both Katie and mom to laugh.
Ryder is my oldest brother whose 25 and lives just 30 minutes away from us with his fiance. While Tyler and Gold are two years older than me and that makes them 21 and are in their senior year of collage around San Fransico(almost 6 hours away from Los Angeles). Tyler took business just like Ryder whose now working with our dad. While Gold took fashion Designing, I'm currently 17 and would turn 18 in three months.
So I was practically the baby of the family.. Their words not mine, even though I'm in my Senior Year of highschool..... Dad and my brothers are very protective towards me and Gold but mostly me though which sometimes is annoying.
They wouldn't let me hang out with boys without their approval, they'd rate my clothes if they were too revealing. Which is funny because I always wear jeans, and baggy clothes or a hoodie! And rarely wear skirts and dresses, I mean I wear shorts but when Im at home or when I go to the park and sometimes when I go to the mall but would always have a long fancy or plain and not so thick jacket on top off my outfit.
So wearing this short dress was like my first time. "Saph come on, you spaced out again" Katie whined, her long red hair was tied into a high ponytail, her short-skater skirt that stopped just above her knees and her cream off shoulder shirt that was tucked in her skirt.
She was wearing a dark purple eyeshadow that compliments her blue eyes. "If you're done checking out your bestfriend, sweetheart then you guys can go. Sometimes I wonder if you're lesbian or not" Mom laughed mumbling her last sentence which she hoped I wouldn't hear but I did.
I rolled my eyes "I'm straight ma, anyways we'll be on our way I'll see you later" I told her hugging her petite frame before smiling.
"Alright call me if anything happens okay?" She replied and I nod.
The second I stepped out of our porch, I started thinking if what I'd do later on would humiliate me instead of him. And to worsen it, what if I have just signed my death wish?

Katie and I stepped out of my Purple Matte Audi R8. A few attention was brought towards my car although I didn't care, unless someone decided to slash my tires then I'd go mad.
Katie tightened her hold on my hand which I almost laughed, keyword 'almost'. When a jock from school tried flirting with her but end up making it sound more of a slur. Much to my surprise though is that she smacked her purse in his face and yelled at him.
Poor boy. I thought looking back to the football player who stood there dumbfounded. My eyes searched for my target, I looked to my side seeing no one. But then saw Katie flirting with the bartender, I chuckled and shook my head.
She smacks a jock then flirts with the bartender, what a weird girl.
I decided to go to the backyard since Mr.Badboy was nowhere to be seen. On my way I recieved a few;
"Hi"
"You look gorgeous"
And lastly..
"Damn, You're hot"
Like.. wtf, I shruddered at I recalled a bunch of hormonal teenagers giving me dirty looks. I mean a lot of people from school know me because of me always participating in dance and singing contests.
But I don't really prefer being one of those popular kids.
I was walking when a familiar green eyes had caught my attention, I widen my grey ones. When I noticed he was already looking at me, he was wearing his signature leather jacket above his white tee and paired with his black ripped-jeans.
His hair was a messy perfection, his white shirt was fitted and it was able to outline his six pack abs. Those damn abs that girls would kill just to see them bare. He was wearing his combat boots to finish his badboy persona look.
I rolled my eyes trying to contain myself from drooling over his body..
You can't blame me, I mean if you would see someone as hot as River King then you'd probably drool over on how hot he is.... right?
Shrugging, I walked back inside to grab a glass of vodka then walked back out sipping on my alchohol pretending that there weren't any couples eating their faces off or grinding on each other.
I stopped by the pool hugging my frame while taking another sip of my vodka. A few minutes of just staring at the pool thinking of anything that comes in mind.
My peace had been disturb and a breath on my neck had startled me, causing me to jab their stomach. A familiar groan had filled my ears and with that I immidiately turn back to see River clutching on his stomach.
As much as I'd want to laugh I couldn't because of that stupid dare. So I decided to put up a fake concerned facade as I brought my free hand to my mouth faking a shock.
"Shit! Are you okay?" I asked faking my voice so it sounded as if I was concerned. He just nodded and stood up straight.
Damn, I should have recieved an oscar for my acting skills.
"I'm fine, you're Sapphire right?" He asked with a sly smirk I hesitantly nodded. "Yep, and I supposed you are River?" I assumed well more like pretended to be clueless.
"Guess I'm that famous, huh?" He retorted with a smirk, and I rolled my eyes. "We have the same English Lit and History since freshman year
idiot " I told him snickering at the small blush on his cheeks.
Then I stopped laughing with wide eye. "Wait did I-" pointing to myself "make River Kaden King blush?!" I exclaimed gesturing him.
He bit the inside of his cheeks and rubbed his nape.
Awe.. that's cute
Wait.. nope, you are not saying he is cute you dumb brain.

"Sapphire? You spaced out, you okay?" He asked almost hesitantly while eyeing me. I chuckled and nodded, "Yep, I was just thinking" I lied, and looked up at him.
"Oh? About who? Me I hope" He chuckled making me roll my eyes. "You wish" I scoffed as he laughed.
A deep yet genuine laugh that everyone rarely hears. I smiled at the sight of him, then my memory clicked.
With that I sighed and placed my glass down in a table near me.
"Im sorry" I apologized in advanced, his face soften but he looked at me confused.
"What for?" He asked concern lacing through his voice which had taken me in surprise but forced it in the side.
I stepped closer to him and reached for his hand as sparks errupts from my fingers I but chose to ignore it.
"Are you okay? Are you drun-" He wasn't able to finish his worry filled words when I pushed him off of the pool. A huge splash errupted from the bright lighted pool as River emerged with a shock expression.
But covered it up almost immidiately with a playful glare and a small pout. I was confused on his reaction I thought he'd scream at me but no-
"SAPPHIRE!" he yelled his glare was now real while his pout stayed making me smile.
Then I realized I talked too soon so I laughed then ran away from him. "Bye Riv, I'll see ya around" I called to him seeing him smiling with an amused expression.
I swear, that boy could get really weird if he wanted.
I stopped running and crouched trying to catch my breath and as soon as I saw Katie I immidiately stood straight and ran again, dragging her on my way then throwing her in the car.
"Hey! Why'd you do that" She whined and I laughed.
"Dare accomplished"
