Seeing this, Ace, Yukio and Rin all shouted, "No!!!" as they watched her fall.

Light, who was still fighting in the middle of the crowd, did not see what happened but felt his connection with Aida suddenly got cut off. As he turned to look, he saw that Aida had disappeared.

They were all shocked and angry, but nobody had as big a reaction as Xiao Ai, "MAMA!!!!" She screamed out in her youthful voice, "DON'T HURT MY MAMA!!"

As Xiao Ai yelled out, she floated to the roof of the car and discharged a huge amount of energy from her body, pushing back the mob that had circled the minivan and creating space for Ace to move. After sending out the huge shock, Xiao Ai shrunk in size by half and fainted. Yukio quickly caught the falling Xiao Ai and placed her safely back into the minivan.

Light was the second to react. He began fighting his way through the mob, making every hit lethal. Despite his efforts, he was still far from reaching Aida.

Waking up from their stupor, everyone else in the van went into action. Rin hopped out the window and launched himself into the crowd with great ease. He began to take people down at a faster rate than Light. People were literally flying through the air.

Meanwhile, Yukio propped himself onto the sky roof as he began shooting the limbs of every person who was near Aida. This served as a great deterrent, preventing people from further injuring Aida.

Ace drove the car in Aida's direction as well, disregarding the obstacles in their way. He stepped hard on the accelerator. Prior to Aida falling, Ace had kept a health distance between the car and Aida to ensure the car didn't get dented as she had her fun throwing people into the air.

Soon, they reached Aida who was still lying there unconscious on the ground. Light swept Aida up in a princess hold as Rin fought off any person who dared to continue attacking them. Most of the mob had already backed off when they saw the many injuries and fatalities. Yukio acted as their cover, picking off anyone who appeared a threat and also prevented anyone from attempting to throw another dart at them.

In this manner, the group slowly made their way into the car. Before they left, however, Ace made a promise to them with angry, red eyes, "You will all die."

He made sure to remember every person involved in this attack. If they were still alive when Aida woke up, he would be sure to come back and personally torture and murder each one of them.

As they drove away, the War faction leader watched on thoughtfully. He had made a good decision not to make enemies with this group. Although their leader had fallen, each member of the team had demonstrated incredible fighting prowess and coordination. He was confident that this leftover mob from the Science faction would come to regret their actions in the near future. They had provoked someone they shouldn't have.

In the car, Light had been holding onto Aida as he checked her vitals and did a visual check for wounds. He noticed a number of cuts and injuries all over her body, but they were visibly healing at an unprecedented rate. He was able to see the bruises quickly disappear, and the cuts were closing up on their own. Realizing that she would be okay and that there were no lethal injuries, he turned his attention to the little bun that seemed to have fallen asleep as well.

The dart that hit Aida was the same anesthesia the scientists used to knock out the infected and induce a coma. They were in a major rush as they departed on the helicopter and left most of their supplies at the airport. Unfortunately for Aida, her blood did not view anesthesia as a toxin that needed to be expelled from the body which is why she fainted immediately.

Ace watched on sourly as Light checked on Aida and Xiao Ai. He dearly wanted to personally inspect them as well, but had to drive everyone out of the airport safely before doing anything else. As soon as they got far enough from the airport, Ace pulled the car to the side of the road and moved to the back with everyone else.

Not trusting Light, he also did a quick check up on Aida and Xiao Ai. Light was not at all offended as he would do the same if he were in Ace's position. After verifying that both were alright, the car descended into silence. Aida had always been the core of the group. Light and Ace had never attempted to talk or get to know each other this entire time.

Yukio and Rin were watching on the side with wide eyes as they leaned quietly against Light. Having seen them in action earlier, Light knew there was nothing wrong with their bodies and was able to focus on their current situation.

Ace hesitantly began the conversation, "We should find a place nearby to stay for the time being."

Ace hypothesized that Xiao Ai was low on energy which is why she was unconscious and had shrunk in size. They had previously seen Aida's experiments with Xiao Ai and knew the absurdly large amount of energy Xiao Ai consumes. For the quantity she needed access to, they had to get to a building and directly connect her to a power line. Ace also hypothesized that if Xiao Ai was not fed enough energy, she could be at risk of disappearing.

Light was not familiar with Xiao Ai, but knew how precious she was to Aida and that reason alone was enough incentive for him to help her. Nodding, Light responded, "I know where we can go for now."
