180 Sharing Experiences

After greeting Aida, the twins dragged Little White, Rose and Xiao Ai upstairs to catch up, leaving all the adults downstairs. Ace continued to cling onto Aida like a koala on a tree. It was clear that they had all dearly missed each other during this time. Light chuckled at the scene before redirecting a curious gaze towards Lackey 1.

Sensing the gaze, Lackey 1 immediately straightened up and reported. "Hello, I'm from Green Base and came here as Boss's number one lackey. My name is…"

Before he was able to say his name, Ace interjected, "I am Master's number one lackey! Shoo shoo!"

Aida rolled her eyes as she pried Ace off of her and addressed Light and Lucifer, "This is Lackey 1, he is in charge of managing all the troops that came from Green Base. We have roughly 800 people outside who will be a part of this upcoming mission." Both Light and Lucifer gave him an acknowledging nod, while Ace continued to glare at him.

She walked towards the tatami and sat down. Rather than beginning the conversations immediately, Light instead went to the kitchen and brought her some tea and light snacks. He had long learned what a foodie she was.

Taking a bite, Aida sighed with satisfaction. One of the hardest things about being at Green Base was the lack of quality food. Most of the new chefs at Green Base had only worked at fast food restaurants like McDonalds or Subway. It was hard for her to downgrade to food made from inexperienced cooks after having had Light's delicious home cooked meals. She never wanted to part from Light again.

Forcing herself to focus on, she maintained her cold facade. "Tell me everything that happened." Aida directed the request at both Light and Lucifer as they all sat around the tatami enjoying snacks. Ace was still unrelentingly glaring at Lackey 1 as if he were the greatest enemy of all time. Lackey 1 looked sheepishly at everyone, which was a direct contrast to the tattoos on his face.

Light took the lead in summarizing all that happened. They had been kidnapped by the guards and then ended up overthrowing the leaders in Orange Base in response. He then introduced Seven, who had been shyly standing on the side this entire time. Seven would be one of the representatives to lead the troops. Aida nodded politely towards Seven before continuing to listen to Light.

He moved onto talking about their lack of success at Yellow Base and their short but terrible experience there. They had almost gotten trapped in the base and eaten as a meal. He wrapped up the summary by saying that the troops from Orange Base should arrive in the next day or so.

Lackey 1 listened to their report in shock. He knew that anyone his boss considered companions surely couldn't be weak, but to be able to overturn an entire base and escape such a terrifying situation at Yellow Base was remarkable. They were truly peas of a pod. He was also secretly astounded by the amount of trouble they found themselves in within such a short period of time.

As they finished summarizing their experiences, Aida tapped the table in thought. They had clearly been through a lot. She wasn't surprised to hear about the cannibalism case, this was quite typical in an apocalypse. Nevertheless, this didn't mean they should be allowed to continue existing. She didn't have the time to personally get rid of them. Instead, she silently worked with Artie to pass this information onto all the Rainbow Bases, including the ones affiliated with the government.

As a loyal lackey and official secretary, Lackey 1 noticed Aida's distracted look. He took it upon himself to summarize Aida's experiences at Green Base.

This time, it was Light and Lucifer's turns to be shocked. They had spent so much time and effort, had been held captive so many times during their time apart, and even had to run away from the base. Yet Aida had been able to successfully take over a base and win the loyalty of most of the people in less than a week.

They couldn't help but think that Aida would have been able to capture the other two bases as well if she joined them. This was a hit to both of their egos. Comparisons were truly odious!

Everyone went silent, seemingly lost in their own thoughts. After some time, the kids all came back down too. They all sat down besides Aida and snuggled up against her, refusing to budge. Ace also tried to edge his way in only to be kicked out by the others.

It was then that Rin finally looked up and saw Lackey 1's face, "Monster!" It had to be remembered that even though the kids were more mature for their age, they were only 10 years old.

Yukio and Light both reacted at the same time and smacked him on the head. Lackey 1 shot a pitiful look towards Aida, who simply shrugged. She couldn't do anything about Lackey 1's poor life choices.

He gave a helpless look before silently standing up and walking towards the sink. At first, everyone thought Rin had hurt his feelings and that he was sulking. However, he then took out a cleaning solution and began cleansing his face. No one knew what he was doing, but now they were all curious. Even Ace set aside his animosity to spectate curiously.
