111 Separating the Elements

Soon a week and a half had passed in this manner. It was night time and everyone was meditating, when Light's voice rang out, "Aida come quick!"

Hearing this, Aida dashed up the stairs. Light must have detected a serious change in Yukio in order for her to be called up. As she entered the room, she swiftly walked towards Yukio and held his hand.

Yukio's fever had finally broken and he was in his final stages of transformation. Flashes of white and green could be seen across Yukio's skin, making him look like a human christmas tree. Holding his hand, Aida could sense the flow of energy through Yukio's body. She said grimly, "It seems the energies still haven't been merged."

Light, who had matured a lot through this experience, maintained his calm and asked, "What now?"

Pausing a moment to think, she then called Little White and Rose over. After having them gather, she said with a determined tone, "We are going to force them to work together."

"I can explain the process and reasoning after we get going. Light, you are in charge of communicating with Yukio. Help him wake up sooner and tell him to cooperate with us. Without him being conscious to take control of the elements, they are going to continue tearing his body apart."

He nodded, and closed his eyes. He had never done this before, but for his brother, he would make it happen. He knew now was not the time to be wishy washy. After endless days of using his ability, he now had a general sense on how the empathic ability operated.

"Rose, you need to help me make sure your brother's organs don't get hurt ok?" Aida asked in a gentle voice.

She nodded quietly and prepared her powers while holding onto a handful of gems. She was determined to help this brother of hers who was clearly in this state because he wanted to help her. Rose had finally come to terms with her emotions and realized the great amount of guilt she felt towards Yukio when she saw him lying there unconscious and in pain after healing her.

Aida had the most confidence in her powers since she had already demonstrated her perfect control earlier on.

Turning to Rin and Little White, she said, "We are going to be doing the hard work. This work will require using your powers and extreme focus, don't let your mind wander at all."

Rin's eyes lit up when he heard he could help. He had felt so helpless watching his twin brother laying there unmoving these past few days. He began preparing his power, moving it around to "warm" up as he hadn't used it in a while.

Little White, who had been improving his comprehension skills over the past week, generally understood what was being asked of him. He stood there silently, prepared to act.

Aida continued explaining, "We're going to forcefully push the two powers apart from each other. Since they refuse to merge together, we will make them occupy separate parts of the body so they don't have to interact at all. Yukio will still need to intervene in the end and ensure that the two powers still stay separated though."

"Little White, you have the light element as well, so you should be able to communicate with the elements in Yukio's body. Help me draw them to the right side. We need to make sure that most if not all the light elements are on the right side." Aida had to explain this a few times and demonstrate to him to ensure Little White understood. At the moment, his comprehension skills were around the same level as a four year old. Fortunately, his task was relatively simple.

"Rin, you will have the hardest job. Once Little White draws all the light elements to the right side, you need to insert a very small amount of darkness into your brother to keep the light from running back to the other side. Remember, you have to have very good control the entire time. If you insert too much darkness into your brother, you could kill him. If you put too little, you won't be able to keep the light elements from hopping back over."

Rin nodded solemnly. It was hard to expect so much from a 9 year old, but she was confident he would be able to execute when push comes to shove. Light also grabbed one of Rin's hands while still meditating. Light helped Rin focus using his empathic ability.

"Let's begin. Remember, control your powers and practice moderation, this is going to be a marathon, not a sprint."

Seeing that everyone was ready, Aida also breathed in and made a huge cut, forcing the blood into Yukio's mouth. She had no ability to control the wood powers in Yukio, but she could now control her own blood to an extent since she leveled up.

She actually had the most challenging task of them all. Using her blood, she had to suppress the two powers and force them to obey her without destroying Yukio's body in the process. She emitted a scary vibe as the blood entered Yukio's body. Both the wood and the light elements that were at war with each other suddenly stopped and instinctively ran away from Aida's blood.

Aida increased the intensity of her vibe and suppressed the powers to the point they couldn't move. After successfully forcing the powers into submission, the real work began. Starting from Yukio's feet, she ordered the wood element to move to the left side of the body while Little White helped to pull the light elements towards the right side of the body.

This work went on for hours. Outside, Xiao Ai, Lucifer and Ace were all on high alert. The work Aida and the others were doing was akin to surgery, no interruptions could be had. Their role was to ensure that they had the quiet environment they needed.

Every Reaper or Enraged that passed by would immediately be numbed by Xiao Ai and killed by Lucifer. Ace was acting as a look out.
