162 Rebellion

An uproar began, there was a challenger. Aida's eyes narrowed as she heard this and Artie quickly identified him to be the leader's right hand man. This man had a stocky build and generally looked unremarkable.

"Mama, he has a shapeshifting ability and can turn into any animal he can think of," reported Artie.

Aida nodded and a glint appeared in her eyes, she was secretly glad that there was a challenger. Without one, there would have been no justifiable way for her to demonstrate her strength and force the people on the base to submit. Seeing is believing.

The crowd automatically backed away to create an open space for the fight. The stocky man walked towards the center while taking off his top. Aida rolled her eyes at his dramatic actions and simply jumped down from the makeshift stage.

Standing there indifferently with her arms behind her back, she simply looked like a king. She raised one hand and said, "Begin."

The stocky man was enraged by her casual behavior and charged towards her, shapeshifting into an elephant. Aida watched as he ran towards her and didn't move at all. Just as he was about to trample over her tiny figure, she simply stepped to the side and tapped him with a finger. The elephant quickly halted and turned back into a man, laying on the ground shaking from having the electricity course through his body. She had added enough electricity in that one tap to kill a normal human, it was a pity he hadn't died.

Aida casually walked over and placed a foot on his neck, asking, "Do you concede?"

Because he was shaking so hard, he had no ability to respond to Aida.

Aida continued tonelessly, "Arrested on multiple accounts of assault, murder and ****. Part of the Black Death Gang and killed his own mother. You deserve death."

Saying this, she stepped down and there was a loud crunch as the bones in the man's neck cracked, dying from the impact. Even after death, the electricity in his body continued to stimulate the nerves in his body, causing his body to continue shivering as though terrified of Aida.

This made for a jarring sight that induced fear in every person on the base. Everyone on base had seen endless amounts of death and the worst side of human nature. They even thought that they had become entirely numb to any amount of death. Yet this scene still stuck in their minds and caused a collective shiver to run across the crowd.

Aida casually walked back up to the stage, ignoring the horror in the people's eyes as she directed her gaze towards the crowd. Rose stared at the dead body in distaste while Little White continued to have a blank look on his face. Her new lackey took the initiative to hand her a bottle of water before heading down to remove the dead body. He had a reverent look on his face.

Aida drank some water in a leisurely manner as though no one were looking at her. Rose had helped her cool the water so it was delightfully cold.

Gazing into the crowd, she asked again, "Is there anyone else who wants to fight?"

Again met with silence, she continued her one man show, "Bring out the items."

A few men then brought out all the drugs in the base and stacked it into a messy pile on the side of the stage. Many people's eyes lit up when they saw this and some of them even began to run forward.

Aida frowned when she saw this, their reliance on drugs were far greater than she imagined. The many people surging forward almost trampled a few of the kids in the crowd. Rose, who had been sitting calmly on the side, stood up and reached out with her hands. She created a wall to prevent people from approaching, while erecting mini barriers to keep certain children from getting killed. Aida took this time to have Xiao Ai send a streak of lightning towards the pile which quickly caught fire.

The entire crowd gasped in horror. If they previously thought she was a ruthless killer, now they looked at her as if she were a monster. It had never occurred to them that their new base leader would remove their source of survival. "No!!" screamed many people.

Since the outbreak occurred, all of these people had been drugged and fallen to addiction. Some of them did it involuntarily while others did it voluntarily to numb themselves from the pain and memories of lost ones. It had become a critical crutch for all of them.

Aida watched this scene indifferently, they would have to get over their addiction sooner or later. Then, someone from the crowd screamed, "She's crazy! We ain't going to let some murderer be our leader. Get her!!"

Hearing this, a glint appeared in Aida's eyes. The insubordinate leader had finally reared his head. He led others to run towards her and attack her, clearly intent on killing her. He was one of the few people on the base who wasn't addicted to drugs and had deep ambitions to become the base leader. The crowd surged as they followed his lead, eager to keep her from burning more of the drugs.

Aida had been waiting for this moment the entire time. The purpose of organizing this town hall was to weed out the bad seeds all at once. Rose and Little White were already standing, prepared to fight the angry crowd.

To her surprise, Lackey 1 and the two other leaders also responded, "Defend our new leader!"

She hadn't expected to find people who were loyal to her during this town hall. Afterall, these people had only known her for a couple days. It was a pleasant surprise. They were worth developing afterall.

Refocusing her attention on the incoming people, a savage grin appeared on her face. She waved everyone with the intention to help off as she dashed straight into the crowd. Just her was enough to quell the angry crowd and get rid of these hidden threats.
