112 Negotiating

Hours and hours ticked by and beads of sweat were falling off everyone there, but no one complained and no one eased their focus. The biggest contributor to this was Light, who continued to help manage each person's emotions so they would be able to focus. Otherwise, it would've been near impossible for three 9 year olds to stay focused for 5 hours straight no matter how hard they tried.

As time went on, Yukio's consciousness began to return as well, much to Light's delight. He was so excited, he almost lost focus and derailed the entire process. Fortunately, Aida was able to notice in time and refocus him.

With Yukio awake, the process began to run smoother. He was able to somewhat control the elements. Light changed his focus from having to wake Yukio up to connecting everyone's emotions. This allowed them all to move in coordination.

Yukio quickly learned about the situation in his body and explained to everyone, "I can ask them to move to the side and try to coexist. They are my friends. They just didn't understand before how they were hurting me."

As they continued to move through Yukio's body, they were almost able to hear Yukio scolding the elements in his body. He would say things like, "You! Go over there!" "What are you doing Sir Light? You don't belong here." "Move move move!" "I'm going to get angry…"

He sounded exactly like a traffic conductor mixed with an angry school teacher. Rin, Light and Aida all had slight smiles on their faces as they continued to work. It was refreshing to hear Yukio's energetic and lively voice. Little White and Rose continued to have no traces of emotion on their faces, but through their connection, they could sense what was going on and both of them were intrigued as well.

Yukio and the others never stopped using their skills as they continued to organize the elements. There were a few more stubborn elements who didn't want to listen to Yukio, thankfully Aida was there to "bully" those particular elements into submission.

After another 4 hours of ushering and focus, they had finally successfully separated the elements in Yukio's body. After this was done, they slowly removed the power that they had been inserted into Yukio's body. Rose was the first one to let go as the elements no longer tried to harm the body. Next was Little White, who removed his control over the light elements.

Aida had Yukio focus on controlling the light elements first. He spent time talking to the elements and cajoling them, convincing them to be his friends. Rin, who was still holding his darkness powers steady within, couldn't help but laugh at his brother's approach. Light glared at him with reproach, forcing him to be quiet.

Yukio had to negotiate back and forth with the light elements within him and had finally agreed to a set of terms. On the side, Aida had prepared more blood to potentially forcefully get the light elements to submit. Fortunately, it wasn't necessary. The light elements and Yukio had made a pact that Yukio would expose himself to light for a few hours a day. Light watched on as Yukio negotiated, clearly proud of his little brother's talents. Aida was amused by this negotiation, it seems Yukio had inherited the same business talent that Light had. He managed to make a promise that was easy to keep in return for having powerful elements that would cooperate with him. When he grew up, he would surely be one to watch out for.

Next it was time to focus on the wood element. The wood elements were surprisingly more mellow as Yukio went through the same negotiation process. The wood element's only wish was to be near plants. Since it would be hard to achieve in a city setting, Yukio was able to negotiate down from a forest to a single plant. In the end, Yukio promised to find a potted plant to keep in his room for the wood element.

With that, both light and wood elements had agreed to Yukio's terms and were willing to coexist. Everyone applauded Yukio's abilities and made a mental note to not make any business deals or wagers with him.

Aida then asked Rin to slowly withdraw his darkness ability as she carefully watched the two powers interact. Neither elements tried to fight the other side, instead they created a line right down the middle.

Heaving a sigh of relief, she also released control of the blood and allowed it to flow naturally throughout Yukio's body. Light also spoke a little more with Yukio before finally coming out of his meditative state. Yukio had fallen back into slumber, his mind and body still needed some time to mend before he could truly wake up. Light had previously forcefully awakened Yukio's consciousness due to the emergency.

Everyone in the room collapsed from exhaustion, none of them had ever had to focus and work so hard with their new abilities before. Little did they notice, all their abilities seem to have grown quite a bit through the exercise.

Aida, who was most accustomed to pushing herself, got up and called the others back into the RV. After providing them with an update on Yukio's status, Lucifer volunteered to prepare food. After eating, they all piled up into Aida's room where Yukio was sleeping and fell asleep as well. Only Lucifer and Ace responsibly took turns for being the look out that night.

Everyone slept for over 12 hours before finally waking up one by one. Their first action was to look towards Yukio and see if he had woken up yet. Yukio remained unconscious much to everyone's disappointment. One by one, they left to get breakfast.

Ace continued to drive towards City M while Aida and the others would fight along the way. It was only the next morning that Yukio finally woke up. Light and Aida were the first ones to sense it as they had a physical connection with him. Everyone dashed upstairs, following Aida's lead. They found Yukio sitting up on the bed.
