163 Getting Rid of Pests

Aida threw her hidden knives laced with electricity towards the aggressors. The first to get hit was the leader, who immediately fell to the ground, unmoving. None of the others noticed as they were in a frenzied craze, many physical Variant abilities approached Aida.

She simply swept her hands across as many metal knives flew out and accurately hit each man charging towards her. They were simply unable to defend themselves against her attacks. This was the absolute suppression that a level 2 had on a level 1. After over a hundred deaths, the men finally woke up from their angry haze and realized what was happening. Some of them stood there, while others tried to run away.

At this time, Rose and the lackeys were in charge of stopping them. Aida had arbitrarily named the other two leaders as Lackey 2 and 3. She told them to apprehend and put them through some "re-education" and then walked back up to the stage.

Within 10 minutes, the entire rebellion of hundreds of people was resolved by one person. As Aida stood on the stage, she didn't look as though she had been in a fight at all. Her clothes and hair were still neat and she didn't look or sound winded. The only change was that her previously cold eyes had a tint of excitement and wildness contained within.

Grabbing the microphone, she said, "Great, now that we've gotten rid of the pests, let's continue."

She raised her hand and the men continued to bring more bags of drugs out to the stage and the fire continued to burn brighter and brighter. Rose had to create a funnel to prevent the smoke from getting people high.

The people in the base stared anxiously as they watched their lifeline burning away. Everyone gripped the hems of their clothes, but successfully resisted the urge to stand up and stop Aida.

Aida continued to glare at everyone as the last bag was burned. "Now that that is done, let's talk about the future. You will disavow drugs for the rest of your life."

An uproar erupted from the crowd, they all called out and talked to their neighbors. Aida watched the scene below as they continued to discuss among each other. After her show of force, no one dared to counter her point outwardly, but she could see that they were all resistant.

Tapping the microphone to regain their attention, she continued, "Anyone who does any kind of drugs from now on will be kicked out of the base. I won't stop any of you from leaving so raise your hand right now and we will allow you to leave and continue your preferred lifestyle. For those who have children, I have a message for you. You can waste away all you want, but don't you dare drag your own child into your own poor decision making as well."

To her surprise, no one raised their hand. "Good, since you have chosen to stay, you will abide by my rules. If any of you is caught consuming drugs, you will be punished and evicted from the base. To help you with this process, you all will stay here for the next 24 hours. We will provide you food and water. However, aside from bio breaks,no one is to leave this location."

With that, she sat down on a chair provided to her by her lackey and watched the people. The cooks from the kitchen were all killed by Aida when she found they were knowledgeable of the drugs included in the food. Replacing them were a group of people who were from the slums, including Sarah's mother and father.

As they disseminated the food to the crowd, many people from the slums began to cry and bow down to Aida. They hadn't had real food for months, pretty much since the outbreak, and were extremely thankful towards her. Just this single action of Aida won her the majority of Green Base's slum population.

Aida had a slight smile on her face when she saw people eat. She said in a cold voice, "Eat slowly so you don't throw up and waste the food I provide." The people immediately heard her reminder and slowed down their pace of eating.

On the side, a smile began to rise on Rose's face as well. Her mother couldn't help but soften her heart and remind them even though she makes it sound like she doesn't care.

Aida waved her hand to her Lackey 2 and 3, and whispered to them, "Have your guards round everyone up and have them stay here for the next 24 hours. You and your guards should go out and get rid of any drugs you find. If I find out that you or any of your other people stole anyone's items or hid any drugs, I will personally end your life. Understand?"

Shuddering, they both nodded compliantly and ran off. Aida then waved her hand at Lackey 1 and ordered him, "Grab wire and criss cross it around the entire perimeter to create a wall, then bring me all the excess wire and place it besides me."

Despite being mystified by her orders, he nodded and went to execute. Soon, all the people had been gathered and Lackey 1 and his people had managed to build a pseudo wall around the entire area. Most of the people had finished their food at this point in time and were waiting for Aida to tell them what they would do next.

"Next, it's time for re-education. You all will be staying here for the next 24 hours, so we may as well make the most of it. For those of you who intend to escape, you will regret it." With that warning, she tossed a piece of wood towards the metal wall and it immediately caught fire and disintegrated.

Gasps rang through the crowd again as Aida explained, "I have electrified the walls, anyone who walks near it will be incapacitated. If I were you, I would just sit here obediently and wait out the 24 hours."
