201 Escaping Government Hall

They continued to exchange hits but Aida gradually fell into a disadvantaged position. Trinity clearly had the momentum and power. The room had fallen into a complete disarray and not an inch of the room was intact. The glass holding Xiao Ai had also appeared and was rolling on the ground across the room from where they were.

Distracted by the sight, Aida froze for a second. Even in her nothingness state, she couldn't stop the flow of emotions from affecting her. Trinity grasped this chance to lash out with his leg. Aida once again fell to the ground and he placed a foot on her neck.

He grinned savagely towards the struggling Aida. "Weak as always. You're too soft! This is why you were sacrificed."

Unexpectedly, Aida grasped his leg tightly instead of struggling. She called out, "Now!!"

"Wha.." Trinity was surprised by Aida's actions. Artemis appeared through the wall and grabbed Xiao Ai in the glass jar and disappeared again.

"No!!" Angered, Trinity pulled something out of his pocket.

Taking Trinity's moment of distraction, Aida reached for a gun nearby and tried to aim towards Trinity. Unfortunately, even in a moment of surprise, his reactions were still incredibly fast. He kicked Aida's hand so the shot ended up hitting and shattering the glass instead.

After kicking the gun away, he reached down and grabbed Aida by the neck. "I'll go after your friend in a second. First, I'll have to kill the weak little you."

Aida chuckled breathlessly as she released electricity from her palms, shocking Trinity. After that, she threw Trinity off her and charged towards him with a hidden knife.

Before she could land a hit, the half numb Trinity used his remaining energy to press the button in his hand before dropping it and rolling out the window.

"No!!" Aida shouted as she dashed towards the window and looked out. They were 50 stories up and a normal person wouldn't survive this. However, Trinity, as an expert from the organization, might be able to.

Aida picked up the device Trinity dropped and read the words [VIRUS SENT]

Unable to determine the meaning of these words, she was about to leap out the window and track him down. She had to verify his death. Before she could, Artemis called out. "Aida! Come now!"

Disappointed but rational, Aida ran to Artemis who was holding the unconscious Xiao Ai. "She won't wake up!"

Aida quickly picked Xiao Ai up and ran a cursory diagnostic. Xiao Ai was fine, she just needed to charge up some more before she would wake up. Heaving a sigh of relief, she glanced towards Artemis. "She's fine but we need to get going." She carefully placed Xiao Ai into her pocket.

Artie had alerted her that the guards were coming. Securing some rope, she guided Artemis to climb down the building on the outside. Artemis wasn't particularly scared despite it being his first time scaling down a building in this manner since he had an invincible ability that would allow him to survive even if he fell. Even so, he was still tremendously glad when they reached the ground.

They tried to blend in with the crowd as law enforcement created an encirclement around the building to capture the culprit. Just as they were about to get away cleanly, the man at the front desk who had given Aida a hard time noticed her and pointed. "Hey! That's the girl who didn't have an ID! She's getting away, capture her!!"

All the police turned their attention towards Aida and Artemis. Instead of reacting, the two of them ran even faster. Realizing they were escaping, the police began to give chase. Only the guilty would run.

Aida dashed into a car which she hotwired with Artie's help and stepped on the gas at full throttle. They sped away from government hall but had a hoard of police cars chasing after them.

Artemis was excited. "Whoo! I've never been on a high speed chase before. This is so much fun!"

Aida rolled her eyes. Now that she had Xiao Ai back with her, she could finally relax. Even the wailing sirens pursuing her didn't diminish her mood.

Everything was going well and a smile was pasted on Aida's face. Then, suddenly Aida's facial expression changed. She heard Artie call out to her. "Mama! Help." And then she blacked out.

The car suddenly swerved and Artemis frowned. He turned to comment on Aida's poor driving when he saw that she was unconscious, her head fell forward and hit the car horn. He saw the fast approaching wall.

"Sh*t!!" Artemis quickly removed Aida's seatbelt and his own, grabbed her and Xiao Ai before throwing the three of them out the car door. They left just before the car hit the wall and got totalled. The police cars in the back came to a screeching halt.

Seeing this, Artemis ignored his aching body and carried the two of them and ran into a random building.

Coincidentally, the building he had entered was none other than the organization. Very quickly, many guards surrounded them. Artemis began to fight them with all his power, trying to deter them from reaching Aida and Xiao Ai. Being untrained and unarmed, he failed miserably and was quickly knocked out.

Enyo happened to walk down after hearing the ruckus and saw the unconscious Aida. She screamed, "Halt! Don't throw her out. Carry her to the dungeon and lock her up."

The guards bowed and carried them away. "What about him?" Another guard pointed at the unconscious Artemis.

Enyo snorted. "Dispose of him somewhere else." Then she turned away and gleefully followed the guard who was going to lock Aida up.
