50 Directionally Challenged

Adapting her usual cold look, she asked, "What is it?"

Rin cocked his head slightly and responded, "Onee-chan, we haven't met before! I'm Rin! Thank you for saving my brothers and I!"

"No need. I did it for Xiao Ai."

"Oh~" Rin responded as he dragged out his tone, "Onee-chan will you teach me how you fight? You were so cool earlier before you fainted. Hehe~"

Aida didn't know whether to be flattered, annoyed or amused. Rin was simultaneously complimenting and mocking her in that single statement. In the end, she chose to just ignore his intent and rejected him, "No."

After responding, she turned away to leave. Rin was entirely unaffected by her rejection and her coldness, instead he continued questioning her, "Are you really Xiao Ai's mother? She doesn't act like you and definitely~ doesn't look like you at all. Did you kidnap her at a young age and brainwash her into calling you Mama?"

"..." Aida wasn't too sure what to do in this situation. She was very tempted to give Rin a spanking, but also understood it was just the natural curiosity of a young child.

Light who had been watching on the side, came over and dragged the monkey-like Rin off of Aida while apologizing with his eyes. Light had allowed Rin to pester Aida for a little while because he wanted them to take some time to get to know each other better considering they would be following Aida from now on.

Aida woodenly acknowledged Light's apology and turned to go upstairs. Xiao Ai was still asleep. Aida estimated that she would be asleep for quite a bit longer as she appeared to have taken most of the drug from Aida, which is what allowed her to wake up so much earlier. Carefully picking her up, she placed Xiao Ai into her pocket and went back downstairs.

By the time she got down, everyone else was ready and waiting for her. She calmly walked past them and sat directly in the passenger seat of the car. Everyone else followed suit and sat down as well.

Each person was armed with a gun. Ace was in charge of driving the car as he would be of no use in an actual fight. Everyone except Aida was on high alert, prepared to fight for their lives. Aida, in contrast, was lounging on the seat while pulling up her scan.

She calmly directed Ace to avoid all the Reapers and drive out the city. Unfortunately, everyone in the van ended up learning on the spot that Ace was very directionally challenged. He seemed entirely unable to follow Aida's instructions. Whenever Aida told him to turn right, he would end up turning left instead.

Each time, Aida would catch the mistake just before they ran into the aggro range of a Reaper. Ace would turn to Aida with puppy eyes and apologize with a "harmless" chuckle. Aida would watch on coldly and smack him in response. By the time they made it out of the city, Ace was covered in bumps and bruises. The others in the car watched on unsympathetically as they were astounded by Ace's lack of ability to follow directions properly.

Seeing that it was a straight shot to the airport from there, Aida laid back and tried to relax as Ace drove. He had no way of going in the "wrong" direction now.

Just as she was getting comfortable, she sat up with a glint in her eye. She just picked up something interesting on her scan. There was a dot that was double the size of standard Reapers and had an immense black aura around it.

Thinking for a moment, she told Ace to pull over and carefully placed Xiao Ai in the passenger seat. Telling the others to stay in the car, she got off and jogged over to the black dot on foot.

The bigger the dot on her scan, the more powerful the adversary. She grinned in excitement as she thought about the upcoming fight. She could finally stretch her legs a little bit~

When she finally reached the location of the scan, she saw a little boy around 12 years old in a high school uniform. He had a huge black aura surrounding the 5 meters around him and his pupils were completely black. He had on the standard expressionless face that every Reaper had. He appeared to be mumbling something to himself as he walked around.

As soon as he noticed Aida, he immediately charged towards her. Aida bounced side to side, shifting her weight like a boxer preparing for a fight. "Alright~ Let's make this a good fight!"

She first took out a knife and threw it at the Reaper as a test hit. While she really enjoyed fighting, it would be no fun if the opponent wasn't able to make it even a little difficult for her.

As the knife approached the Reaper, it did not stop charging forward. Instead, the Reaper did something very unexpected. It merged with the darkness in its aura as the knife went straight through him and landed on the floor behind the black shadow.

"Oh my, what an interesting skill you have," Aida said out loud, completely unperturbed by the fact her knife just passed through the kid. She was excited to encounter a new type of superpower.

Seeing that knives appeared to have no effect on this boy, she decided that they would do hand to hand combat instead. Aida quickly dashed forward with extreme momentum to reach the boy first. Getting the first hit always had an advantage.

Leaning in as she closed in on the 5 meter mark, she prepared to throw a punch when something unexpected happened. The entire world around her went dark.
