198 Captured

As they returned to the house, Aida immediately noticed that the blinds that were once closed had been opened and the electricity that she placed on the door had disappeared. Her face turned grim as she dashed inside.

Looking around, the house had been turned upside down. The laptops were utterly destroyed and the walls and floor had scorch marks. It could be seen that there had been a battle here.

Aida paled as she called out, "Xiao Ai! Xiao Ai! Where are you?!" It was obvious to both of them that the perpetrators had taken Xiao Ai.

Artemis had also entered and was studying the scene. He noticed on the window sill, there was a card. It had a single O on it. "Aida, come look at this."

Aida ran over and looked. Her eyes narrowed and the killing intent rose in her. Seeing the card, she knew exactly who the perpetrators were. It was none other than the Organization. They had taken the opportunity to kidnap Xiao Ai and also tried to kill her and Artemis.

Picking up the card, she read it. [tOo LiTTlE ToO LAte GIRLie]

Seeing the note, she knew exactly who took her precious daughter. Scrunching the note in her hand, she said, "Let's go."

Artemis nodded grimly as he followed Aida out the door.

Back at the building, Trinity sat at a table staring at a little bun that had been placed in a jar. Xiao Ai was uncharacteristically pale and smaller than usual. She wasn't responding to anything in her surroundings as well.

He tapped the jar curiously. "You're really a piece of work for something so small."

Trinity was the one who kidnapped Xiao Ai while Enyo was distracting Aida. As Aida's former master, he had long since known about Xiao Ai's existence.

After Enyo left the building, he secretly tracked them and watched as Aida got ambushed. After he confirmed that Aida was preoccupied, he snuck into the town house and had a fight with Xiao Ai.

Xiao Ai had extremely weak defenses and, once she exhausted her powers, Trinity immediately placed her in a glass jar nearby. He only left after sadistically dropping a note to Aida.

With a sinister grin on his face, he tapped the glass containing Xiao Ai. "You and I are going to be best friends before long."

Just then, Enyo stomped into the room with heavy footsteps, she was absolutely furious to have lost two members of the organization to Aida.

Reacting quickly, Trinity tossed a cloth over the jar and turned to look at Enyo. "What happened?" He inquired as though he didn't know the truth.

Disgruntled, Enyo walked past him, sat on a chair and propped her legs up. "She got away. Her companion helped her."

Trinity bowed his head as he thoughtfully suggested, "A companion? Is this companion male? I bet our Master won't be happy to hear about that."

Hearing this, Enyo's disgruntled face lit up and exclaimed, "You're a genius!" Then she disappeared as quickly as she appeared.

Trinity stared at her departing figure with unreadable eyes before picking up the hidden glass jar and exiting the building. It was time for him to leave. He got into the car and drove towards the government hall, formerly known as city hall.

Meanwhile, Enyo excitedly took the elevator up to the floor that Ace was staying on. Charging into the room, she saw Ace sitting in the exact spot as before with all the monitors surrounding him. All the screens appeared to be searching for something.

He didn't react at all upon Enyo's appearance but instead continued to type. Angered again, Enyo charged up to Ace and slammed her phone onto the table."Look at this!" She pointed to the pictures she had captured.

In the photo, Aida could be seen holding Artemis' hand. She excitedly waited for him to get angry at that wench for being disloyal but to her surprise, he turned his anger towards her instead.

He stared malevolently towards Enyo. "Touch her again and you die. If you even so much as look at her again, you will die."

Enyo looked at Ace with a shocked expression. She didn't expect that he would know that she had made a move. "H-how did you know?"

Glaring at her, he pointed at the photo. "Their clothes are a mess like they rolled around in sand, there's blood at the end of the man's sleeves and she is holding her knives. Isn't it obvious?"

Devastated by Ace's response, she stomps away without even taking her phone.

After she left, Ace picked up the phone and stared closely at Aida's photo. Touching her face through the screen, a longing smile appeared. "It seems I need to pick up the pace of my work here."

He tapped a few buttons on the phone screen and emailed the picture to himself. After cropping the man and making Aida his screensaver, he continued to focus on what he was working on before.

Trinity didn't realize this, but Aida and Artie had a means to track down Xiao Ai using the little breadcrumbs from her small signatures of energy. A large part of why they could use this skill was because Xiao Ai had been a major factor in both of their transformations after Aida had been infected. She used her own energy to facilitate the merging and growth of Aida's electricity abilities.

Aida anxiously followed Artie's directions and reached a common looking building. They stared at it for a while and Aida was about to crash the place, but Artemis held her back. "Are you sure it's this location?"

"Yes I'm sure! Now let me go, I'm going to find my daughter!" whispered Aida in an angry and anxious voice.

Meanwhile, Artie was rapidly scanning the entire building for signs of Xiao Ai. Then he sounded again. "Mama looks like sister was here, but she's not here any longer."

Following Artie's instructions, she left the entrance of the building and walked down another path.

Artemis hailed a cab and dragged Aida in, they quickly followed Xiao Ai's energy signature. If they waited too long, it would disappear.
