3 Qian Yih's Past

Qian Yih started at her food, reminiscing Long Wei and her past...

It was the first day of High school.

Qian Yih walked into her classroom, her eyes bright and cheery. She couldn't wait for lessons to begin. She surveyed the classroom, accidentally catching the eye of a certain boy. Long Wei. He introduced himself later. His eyes were sharp and brown, they seemed to capture her heart. Realizing that she wasn't the only girl staring at him, she raised her eyebrows. Was he that attractive?

" Yes, " she answered herself, " He is, but it's the first day of school. You didn't come here to be charmed by a good-looking flirt, "

She had promised herself that she wouldn't get herself caught up in any boy. What a joke. In 2 months, she was talking to him every day, having study group with him, going out with him. That devil had charmed her.

She still remembered that time he officially asked her out.

" You want to eat dinner together? A date?" Long Wei confidently proposed.

" Seriously? What a joke!" She laughed.

" No, not a joke. Be my girlfriend, " Long Wei asked again, his mouth with a hint of a smile.

Qian Yih raised her eyebrows, " What if I say... yes?"

Long Wei broke out into a full smile, showing off his dimples and brilliantly white teeth.

Qian Yih's cheeks flushed red, she had fallen for the devil.

That was their first date. The 29th of February. Everything was so awesome, she got a perfect boyfriend who made all the girls envy her. Her family business was going well being run by her mother. Her older brother was going to join the family business.

But like everyone says.

All good things must come to an end.

Her mother died of cancer. Her father quickly married his mistress, Jin Li who had borne him a daughter who was just 10 minutes older than her. Qian Yih's world came crashing down. She lost her mother and suddenly had a new older sister, Qian Lian. Thankfully, she still had Long Wei who comforted her. That wasn't that bad, she thought.

Not long after, her brother, Qian Shun, disappeared, leaving the family business in the hands of her father who was incapable of doing anything except play with women. The family business came crashing down, with nothing to help them.

Qian Yih had then taken it upon herself to take care of the business. Long Wei who had then not joined his family business helped Qian Yih cope with school and work. Being so busy, 4 years passed.

Qian Yih graduated and was ready to further her studies locally since she couldn't bear to leave her company alone with her father. She couldn't even begin to thank Long Wei when news came that he was going overseas to study. She then tried contacting him to say goodbye, however, it seemed like he was deleted from her life, he didn't respond to anything.

Soon she focused on her busy life and forgot Long Wei. Yet, no matter how she tried, without Long Wei, she couldn't balance the two things and could only let her company go, leaving it to her father, hoping that her step-mother would help. The company closed down.

Qian Yih quickly found a job so that her family would still have some income. It didn't help that Jin Li and Qian Lian were careless with their money. Whenever they needed more money they would ask Qian Yih and if she refused to hand them money, her father would threaten to kick her out of the house.

Being burdened with supporting her family of 4 while paying for her own education, she didn't have enough to pay for an apartment and had no choice but to hand over the money she was saving for university, thankfully Qian Lian had already dropped out and she didn't need to pay for Qian Lian's education too.

It wasn't long until she finished college. By then, she had no choice but to stop studying and work full-time.

Yet because of her current salary, she moved out of her home and lived alone. Wiring over monthly allowance to her family, hoping that she would never have to meet them face to face again.

" Qian Yih!" Lolia waved her hand in front of Qian Yih, bringing her back into the present.

Qian Yih smiled bitterly at Lolia, before tucking into her food.
