Almost

Today's weather seemed like the one Volt loves. Cloudy, cold air and chilly atmosphere.

However, he didn't seem to enjoy it as he impatiently waits for his friend's arrival.

"Ugh, where's that guy? I'm running late.", Volt stood up in his seat. He decided to went outside and starts walking around the area.

To somehow relax, he takes a nice view of the green grass and tall trees nearby him. There's also a playground and there, he saw kids playing with each other. Deep inside him, he somehow felt... happy.

Volt suddenly recalled his childhood together with Ashlyn. How he wished the old times to be back. For him, it was the happiest time in his life especially his father was still alive at that time. Every Sunday, the father will always take him to amusement parks or playgrounds together with Ashlyn and his older brother. That's how they spend time despite his father's busy schedule.

Looking back makes him in sorrow again but he can't show any emotions on his face. He remains his facial expression blank even tho his emotions are raging inside him, having the will to scream his heart out. Hence, He must not display his real feelings or they'll use them against him.

"Voltaire! " Zylant shouted while waving his hands enthusiastically. Volt looks at him with laser-like eyes. As Zylant saw his glares, he began to quiver in fear.

"What time is it, stupid rat?" Volt asked with a calm face but a heavy aura. Zylant stepped back and smiled nervously.

"I'm ten minutes late hehe, but here!", Zylant raised the folder that he's holding and slowly handed it to his friend.

"Tch. What took you so long?" Volt asked.

"Traffic hehe," Zylant said as he bit his lower lip.

Zylant remembered what he saw earlier and began having suspicion. He's starting to speculate that Volt's company isn't a typical one. It's more than that.

"Do you need anything more, CEO?" Zylant mocked while fidgeting his fingers.

"Nothing, for now, thanks, dude.", Volt lightly punched his friend's arm then snickered.

"Alright then, I have swimming practice. See ya later, alligator!" Zylant waved his goodbye and so did Volt. Both went in different cars and drives to their destination.

Volt arrives at his university and went straight to the director's office. He wears his intimidating aura and the usual attire. Literal speaking, he is wearing navy blue business attire.

"There he goes, the young CEO of one of the top companies. Welcome sir Voltaire." the director formally greeted. Volt nodded to him in response and sat on the couch parallel to the other visitor.

"Corrections, IN CHARGED CEO. Voltaire isn't the official one yet." Chairman Flammia amended, sitting across Volt.

"Partially correct but I believe that soon enough, his statement will be a fact," Volt told in monotone looking straight into the Chairman's gazes.

The director seems to sense the tense atmosphere between the two so he decided to shift topics.

"Alright. CEO Flammia and Chairman Flammia let's go straight about the topic." Director Langston proceeded.

"Yes. As you may know, Voltaire, the reason for my sudden visit here is that I'm thinking of investing in this institute by conducting an event which the director and I agreed on." Chairman Flammia formally explained.

Volt furrowed his brows in confusion. He laid back in his seat as he is evaluating the right words that needs to be said. He's well aware that the chairman, his grandfather, is not alone.

"I see but why I didn't receive any notice about this exhibition? This matter must be thought carefully alongside the other units involved in this topic." Volt interrogates and crossed his legs.

"What? The chairman told me that you are well informed about the event." Director Langston replied. Both he and Volt looked at the chairman who seems to be spacing out a little.

"The said agreement is kept from you, Voltaire, because I don't want you to be biased about this. I am aware that you won't favor such an occasion since this might involve your personal space at your school." The chairman reasoned in a serious tone.

Volt raised his brow in amusement. He comprehends that his grandfather has his purpose on the sudden investment and is just beating around the bush.

"Too obvious, old man. Two can play that kind of game." He said in his thoughts as he hid his smirk by sipping in his coffee.

"This folder...", Volt showed the 50-page black folder in his hands.

"Yes, That holds the confidential information that this investment will be using like the funds, terms, and agreements. To show you at least some transparency." said the chairman.

Volt looked intently to the old man's eyes before opening the folder. He quickly scanned the whole report and placed it on the coffee table.

"Transparency e? I still have questions in my mind. Answer first Director Langston." Volt instructed without looking at him.

"What is the purpose of this event and what benefits will all of us gain from this?" Volt raised a question.

"Well, this will be a great familiarity for the students since there are sports games and tournaments together with the pageants that may help them with having unity and learn some basic skills about life. This might improve their personalities as they are tested in every activity. Also, experience is the best teacher." Director Langston answered and smiled.

Voltaire looked at him with a blank face, not impressed with his answer. For him, this sounds like the typical student answering essays in exams.

"Ahuh, but I'm a businessman and we're talking about pure business here. How will this benefit my company?" Volt asked.

"Ah.. eh." Director Langston was caught off guard by Volt's sudden questions. He gulped hard as he is unable to answer them and looked at the chairman, possibly asking for help.

Volt sighed and sips on his coffee while reviewing the folder that serves as 'TRANSPARENCY' for the event. He is sharp that the director is a corrupt man and will pocket the funds that Volt's corporation will provide.

"Voltaire, this will help us in advertising the company since this is a broad event wherein big universities will join. It'll help us to widen our reach and be more known." the chairman replied.

"I still have questions with me but I don't think this is the right time to say it." Volt stands up, grabs the folder with him, and went straight to the door. He stopped there before muttering words.

"Give me five days of reviewing this then I'll give you my answer," Volt announced without looking back and lash out.

"Wow, that kid is cocky I can't pass through him nor I can't even read him." Director Langston commented while wiping his sweats.

"Voltaire is a pure jerk that's why he's not qualified enough on being a CEO. He'll just put his father's hardship to nothing." Chairman Flammia said.

On a rooftop near the university site, a man is using binoculars while looking at his target, Voltaire. He lowers his binoculars as he crouched to secure Volt's safety, aiming his sniper on the area around him. As he notices that Volt is leaving, he directly contacts his ally through his earpiece.

"Agent SX, Voltaire is on his way back to the company. Hurry and return." He commanded.

'Agent SX' is busy running after his mark in a squatter area. She's currently having a battle and got baffled on whether to let go of her assigned task and focus on Voltaire.

"But sir, the mark is getting away. This is our chance," she replied panting extremely from the running she did.

"Voltaire is more important than that. We'll find another way. Hurry and go back." her commander instructed.

'Agent SX' halted and went back to her ride. She puts on her helmet and started the engine of her black Ducati motorcycle. She runs it as fast as she can, calculate the time left, and knew it wasn't enough.

"Sir, I think I won't make it in time. Contact Agent Crixx, tell her to distract the CEO." Agent SX told through her earpiece.

"Agent Crixx, do you read?" the commander said as he went down the building. He noticed that there are civilians on the 10th floor so he decided to jump on the open window.

'Agent Crixx' received the call, she's currently inside Volt's office ground. She went inside the stock room and answered.

"Crixx on the call, sir," she responded.

"Voltaire is on his way to the company and SX might delay. He might uncover her so buy SX some time." the commander instructs as he jumps from building to building.

"Roger, sir.", Then Crixx went out and acted her usual office personality, gossip freak.

As Crixx saw Volt's arrival, she directly went to him, holding big boxes full of paper works and a cup of coffee. She purposedly spills the iced coffee to his boss, making him stop and glares at her.

"Oh my... Sir, I'm really so much sorry..." 'Crixx apologizes as she puts down the loads she's holding and wiped her boss's luxurious suit.

"What do you think you're doing?" Volt asked as he takes back his coat.

"Sir, I just need you to sign this proposal for the upcoming event that the chairman arranged." She said.

Volt looked at her and the box.

"Place that in my office. Where's Keisha?"

Crixx did what his boss said and nervously looked around, spotting Keisha but she saw no signs of her.

"We're doomed," Crixx mumbled inside her thoughts.

"Didn't she went outside sir? I met her earlier and she told me that her tummy's not well..." Crixx lied an excuse. She leaned closer to his boss and whispered. "Maybe she's pregnant? Hihi"

Voltaire scowled at the employee and shakes his head. He isn't buying her thoughts so he decided to call Keisha instead. Crixx eyes widened and start to think of another scheme.

"Why is she not picking up? I need those documents." Volt whispered still having a huge frown on his face.

"Maybe she left her phone somewhere else," Crixx muttered but Volt ignored her.

"You leave me no choice, I'm sorry Voltaire." She thought before attempting her last resort.

Crixx snatched his boss's cellphone by loudly poking the phone from the bottom causing it to toss into the air and spin around. She caught it eventually and ended the call.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Volt hissed and violently grabs his phone and glares at Crixx.

"Sir?" A familiar voice saved Crixx from the scariest situation she might encounter while working for him.
