30 Why Demon Race Becomes the Evil (2)

While Sally was sleeping soundly. C drove their carriage until they're out of the forest before stopping.

"Ugh... hungry..." C was starting a bonfire when noticed his stomach rumbled.

He took a box from within the carriage, as quiet as possible. Then he saw a dim light from Sally's black pendant.

"So fast? What a monster...," he mumbled to the sleeping Sally.

C took the pendant and lightly pinching it.

Click... It's sounded and opened.

there are a small pills inside. One was black, the other two were white. He picked out the white ones an put two red pill inside. He closed the pendant, and everything was looked like nothing happened.

"Why is she sweating so much?" C frowned seeing Sally's forehead down to her neck.

"Truly... as expected from elven pure blood. Was she a royal? She's even more beautiful than demon queen. Unfortunately, she's married." C shook his head to sober up. He likes beauties, but he's not pervert enough to desire other's wife.

"Is she having a bad dream? Huh?" C was startled.

Tears dropped like a broken string of pearls.

Sally begged someone to not crying, while she herself was sounded so sad, so desperate.

※"I'll find you... I'll save you, so please don't cry..."※ she said her promise like a chant.

What is she saying? Elven language? She sounded so sad. Is she dreamed about brother in law? C thought. But he quickly dispersed the thought.

"I'm sorry. I miss you too..." Sally looked calmer, then backed into the deep sleep.

He closed the carriage front door. Didn't forget to open the window a little.

He saved one white pill to his pocket, and eat the other one. C took sweet potatoes from inside the box, and a bottle of wine.

"Heaven...," he smiled smelling the delicious aroma of sweet potatoes.

Leaning on a tree. Eating and drinking leisurely. C enjoyed the silent night while humming softly.

He remembered the afternoon when Sally defended him, calling him a friend.

People was usually disgusted by demon race, whether they ever had problems with demon or not. They believed that demon race was not deserved to even breathing in the same place with them. Because demon was always an ominous, symbol of evil. So in fact, the bees reaction was normal, and Sally... was the weird one.

Almost all demon has immunity to miasma, it's higher for the upper class. Even some demons could get stronger inhaling it. But of course not all got benefits, took the example of goblin. Goblin lost their mind, becoming like a naughty child without wise, because of miasma.

Miasma wasn't always a good thing for demon, this fact had been a secret for like... forever. Saying it's a secret was too exaggerated. Actually, if those idiots out there could sit down and think carefully, they could come up with this theory on their own.

Demon race was thinking that they're the highest race in this world, that's why the royal had ambition to rule the world. And other races were thinking otherwise. It's just a matter of power greeds.

"A bunch of idiots," C mumbled between his humming.

Meanwhile, for the group who tailed C and Sally.

The three people were tailing Sally and C the whole day. Why? Well, what's more suspicious than a half demon with a green elf come out from beastman tribe territory?

But, seriously, there's nothing.

"The two were just a pair of merchants. Why must we starving here for nothing? It's just ordinary honey," Tail A grumbled while eating his harden bread.

Tail B looked at carriage rooftop where C tied three barrels of honey and covered it with thick clothes.

"Are you sure? Maybe it's just a disguise. A half demon are in the place that were leaked miasma. It's too much for a coincidence." (Tail B)

"Maybe he's a spy?" (Tail C)

"What? He wanted to know who's gutsy enough to wreck goblin dens? Even we can't find... not even he or she...? What's so special about half demon? In my hometown, many women were burnt because pregnant with demon." (Tail A)

"I don't know. It's order from higher up." (Tail B)

"This is the first time I see an half demon. He looks weak... like ordinary human." (Tail C)

"Stupid! Can ordinary human drive for hours without rest?" (Tail B)

"They have honey. I heard honey can make you stronger. That must be it!" (Tail A)

"I wished I prepared some decent food... There isn't a single animal crosses our way, it's frustrating!" (Tail C)

And so the three tails couldn't get a wink of sleep with grumbling stomach.
