2 Chapter One;

"We will take care of her madam, please don't worry about it. Rest assured that we will provide the best treatment that we have for your mother."

A woman in her mid forties, dressed in a black professional business suit was sited behind a desk facing Courtney whom was sitting in front of her. The woman had a little bit of grey hair and some wrinkles on the corner of her eyes.

Courtney's clothes looked dull compared to hers. And the woman wondered how she was able to pay for this program. It was a very expensive program and not a lot of people can afford it.

"Please do," Courtney agreed. "I would be grateful if you could give her the best treatment this facility has to offer."

Courtney was informed about the kinds of therapy treatment they use for such cases and things related to it. After the explaining everything to her she was a document to sign.

After going through it she then signed it and handed it back to the woman in front her. "By signing this document you've agreed to our terms and conditions."

"I know. I just went through it." The woman stared at her one last time before extending her hand to shake Courtney's.

Courtney stood up and said her goodbyes to the woman and her mom. When Courtney tired hugging her mom, she pushed her away saying that she is the cause of all her misfortune, that if she didn't her, then life would be much better.

Courtney is used to her moms abusive words and behaviour; including the rejection she faces from her own mom.

A bitter Sweet smile spread on Courtney's lips as a single tear slipped out of the corner of her right eye. Everything will be fine soon, her mother will get the treatment she needs and she will be able to live the life she has always dreamed of.

"Your mother is so lucky to have you," the woman commented. "Girls your age mainly concentrate on their own lives, careers and finding someone to marry."

Of course Courtney was like other girls; she wanted to go to college and become a teacher and settle down with a nice guy, but she didn't want to go through it without her mother by her side. And also, because she didn't believe that love actual exists, she only believes in attraction that's all.

She left the centre and hailed a taxi before getting in and giving the driver the directions to a train station. Courtney was going for a job interview. She wasn't sure if she will be able to get the job as it required a lot, but the salary was great no wonder she was going for it. Not to mention that she will also be staying there if she gets the job.

The job requires her to take care of a little kid, but she was warned that the kid is rather troublesome and has been able to make 30 nannies quite in just over a period two months.

But what did this kid do to make all his past nannies quite? That was a question that ran through her mind.

To distract herself Courtney listened to some of her favorite songs.

Six hours later, Courtney arrived in front of a huge, old fashioned mansion that looked like it just popped out of a fairytale book. After getting through the gate, which had way too many guards, she knocked on the door.

When no one answered; Courtney was about to knock again when she noticed the door bell next to the large, oak wooden doors. Of course rich people have doorbells they don't knock. she rung it, but no one responded again.

Courtney was about to ring the doorbell again but the large oak wooden doors finally opened.

A woman in her late fifties came into view and greeted Courtney with a wide and warm smile spread across her face. Courtney has always wished that her mother would smile like this towards her.

The woman had a lot of grey hairs and wrinkles all over her face. Her hair was tied into a nest bun, which gave her a strict look.

The woman was dressed in a authentic maid's outfit like the ones which were worn in the 1700s and wearing flats. "Come in!"

She gestured for her to come inside, opening the door even wider. Courtney was now standing in the hallway, taking in her new surrounding.

The hallway had antiques on either side and authentic paintings that looked looked like they costed a great fortune. Everything was so sophisticated and elegantly decorated. Courtney felt out of place.

"Ah!" The woman exclaimed. "You must be here for the job interview. My name is Tiffany, the head servant of all the servants. Come with me." Courtney followed her silently while staring at everything in sight.

The mansion seemed more modern in the inside than it did on the outside. The leather dark brown couch with the marble floor complainted each other very well. The entire room was painted white, which made Courtney wonder, how do they manage to keep it so clean and spotless. But she realised that they are wealthy, they probably hired dozens of maids to clean this place. There was also a large flat screen TV mounted on the wall.

Tiffany led Courtney to the dinning area which was even more spotless and extravagant. A long, rectangular table had been placed in the middle of the room with eight very comfortable looking chairs on either side of the table.

Tiffany asked Courtney to take a sit. "Would like something to drink or maybe eat?" her British accent being more visible.

"Water will do." Right now she will need the water more than anything else because her nerves were on the edge.

"Okay." Tiffany left the dinning room in the direction which Courtney thought was the kitchen. Courtney inhaled and exhaled a few times before finally composing herself.

A few minutes later, she came back with a glass of icy cold water. She sat the cup closer to Courtney before sitting down on the other side of the table.

"Now! I am going to a ask you a few questions and I would appreciate it if you answered me truthfully." Courtney nodded. But she wondered why the head of the servants was the one interviewing her instead of the owners of this beautifully, architectured mansion.

"Have you ever worked as a nanny before?" Tiffany asked the first question.

"No, I haven't. But I used to babysit for my neighbors and friends, so I have experience in taking care of a child, and I assure you that if I get this job I will do my very best." She answered confidently. Tiffany wrote something down in a note book.

"Good enough." Tiffany whispered. "Are you educated?"

"Yes! I just recently graduated from high school."

"Okay. How old are you?"

"I am 24."

"If I may ask, and please answer honestly, why do you want this job?" She inquired.

"Surely a woman of your age would be able to get a much better job somewhere else instead of taking care of a kid. Can you please tell me the reason why you really want this job?"

"The first reason is that I love kids and I enjoy spending time with them. And the second reason is because I really need the money and I noticed that this particular job pays a lot." Courtney admitted everything without a second thought.

"The last question; are you mentally strong?" Courtney thought that the question was wired so she asked for more clarification.

"I am sorry, but what do you mean by that?"

She sighed, "I meant to say, can you manage to take care of a child who isn't just physically stressful but also mentally stressful." Upon seeing that Courtney get even more confused, she decided to elaborate more.

"Little master is a bit tough and different from other kids. He is rude, arrogant and way too spoilt, so he does everything he wants, even young master isn't cable of stopping him, and that's when your job comes in, you must be able to keep him under control and make sure that he doesn't leave the premise of this house without young masters permission."

"And you should know that he doesn't like any woman getting close to his uncle, that really pisses him off."

"I understand." But not quite. How bad can this kid really be.

"Great! You'll start tomorrow morning," Tiffany declared. "Let me show you your room, so that you can freshen up and rest before you begin tomorrow."

Courtney stood up and followed Tiffany to another hallway, although this hall wasn't as sophisticated and elegant as the grand hallway. Here the hallway is painted stardew instead of white. They walked passed a few rooms before they got to Courtney's room.

"Here! This is your room." Tiffany pointed to a room that had a number seven on it. "You will be sharing it with Sarah when she comes back from her leave."

"Okay."

"Oh and one more thing, you should wake up at 5 O'clock tomorrow morning." She instructed to Courtney before handing her a key to room. "Also don't go to the opposite direction of the foyer."

There was something in Tiffany's voice that told her to stay away, but her curiosity got the better of her judgement.

"Why shouldn't I?" She question.

"Because that is young master's section of the house and nobody is allowed there without his permission, except for me because I am the head of all servants," Tiffany explained. "Although he used to have a personal maid but she got fired because she tired to seduce him."

Courtney was surprised by what Tiffany had just said, someone tired to seduce the young master of this house and she got fired.

Courtney thanked the heavens, for she had been warned in time. She can't really afford to lose this job.

But, then again, she wasn't thinking about seducing anyone while working here.

"See you at dinner. I will come and call you." She informed.

Courtney entered her room and dropped her luggage to the floor before remembering that she forgot to ask Tiffany where the bathrooms were. She began shouting at herself for being so forgetful.

She looked around hoping that the bathroom might be here but it wasn't. She just noticed two beds with blankets neatly put over them. Apart from that there was a closet and a chest drawer in the far corner. The walls were painted a relaxing color of yellow and oak wood floor.

In the end Courtney just sighed and plopped herself on one of the beds and decided to ask Tiffany when comes to call her for supper.
