5 Chapter Four

❤️❤️ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS❤️❤️

"I said, set those damn things down and hand me the YING GROUP OF COMPANIES file on the right side of the shelf!"

Courtney finally snapped out of her daze. She hadn't realized that she was lost in thought whilst staring at his hair. She immediately set the tray on the desk before going to grab the file and set it down.

"Why don't you read it out loud for me."

"Huh?" Her eyes went wide as she she stared at his hair. He hadn't sat up since Courtney entered the room, she was really curious to see his face.

"Can't you read or are you mentally retarded?" He teased, although Courtney didn't notice it because of the way he said it.

"I can read!" She said quickly without thinking twice.

"Then proceed."

Courtney read out the file a few times before she looked up and found him staring at her. His dark eyes made heat raise in her cheeks as they turned a light shade of pink.

His fair skin only added to his attractiveness, and prominent jawline that you would trace with your fingers every second of everyday. His hair fell right on his face as a very intimidating smirk appeared on his thin kissable lips. Young master roamed his eyes all over her body, taking her in before finally staring at her face.

"Hand me the file."

Courtney's feet moved on their own and set it in front of him before she stared at his face some more. All the tiredness and stress she had been feeling was gone. She felt her stomach churn just by staring at his face.

"Stop staring at me Ms Stone, it makes me feel uncomfortable," he teased once more as another smirk found its way to his lips.

"I am sorry!" Oh my gosh he had noticed. Courtney felt the heat in her cheeks raise as stared at the floor, interning scolding her herself for doing that.

How could she have been careless as to stare at perfectly sculpted face, and thin kissable lips?

What had gotten into her? Why was she imagining about kissing his perfect lips? Or maybe what that mouth of his could do?

Courtney finally turned away from his face and glanced at the shelves of books. She loved reading but not studying. Her favorite books were non-fiction as she didn't believe in a perfect life, happy ending, destiny or fate. She believed that our lives are in our hands, we are the creater's of our own destiny and what we choose is our own fate.

Courtney learnt the truth about this cruel world and the disappointments that come along with it at a very young age which led to her not believing in love, but she still yearned for it.

She had always led a simple life and she was content with it, but little did she know that her life was about to turn upside down in just a matter of a few months.

Courtney didn't know how she had gotten away from his desk and was now in front of the book shelf staring at wall of books. She ran her fingers through the books before pulling one out.

The book was titled 'A TALE OF TWO CITIES'. Courtney had seen this exact book in a lot of libraries and had read it before, but she never had enough money to buy a copy for herself.

As she did this young master stared at her. He had never met a woman who stopped staring at him just to look at a few books because most women just shamelessly flirted with him and tried to seduce him. He didn't even realize that he was smiling and had felt half of his stress leave him just by looking at her.

Young master was surprised himself because mainly he was always pissed off if someone entered his office and began touching his staff but with her was happy.

"You are in to reading?" He questioned.

"Yeah," she agreed. "Books are like an escape from reality, and they help me relax."

"But those aren't really completely fictional, you know that, right."

"I know." She rolled her eyes at him which made him even more intrigued by her. "These are my favorite kinds of books. Ones that take you that far away from reality. These books speak some kind of truth which most people can relate to."

"Wow, that was a very vivid explaination, about books." He smiled but Courtney didn't notice as she had opened the book and began reading it.

Time flew by as she began to be absorbed into the book, she didn't even notice that it was already 1 am in the morning.

"Ms Stone it's late." He informed her.

Courtney glanced down at her wrist watch and noticed that she was supposed to be in bed by now. She stood up and returned the book back where she had gotten it from before carrying the tray with her.

"Why don't you take the book back with you." Young master suggested as Courtney was about to exit.

"But I can't," she disagree.

"You can return it once you are done reading it." He said. "I insist." There was something in his voice which was more like a demand than a suggestion.

Courtney didn't feel like arguing with him, because she finally felt the stress of yesterday finally wash over her. She stiffed a yawn as walked back to the shelf and grabbed the book off the shelf.

"Okay." Courtney grabbed the book and quickly exited before he could say anything else. Young master just smiled as he watched her run out of his office.

This woman really had a way of making him laugh even without doing anything. He spun his chair around and looked outside at the forest.
