1 Update the app and enter a new age

June 5, 2019, 9am was the day that 13 volcanoes all around the world erupted at the same time. That same day all major news sites were hacked. The hackers uploaded several videos of groups of men flying in helicopters and throwing several containers into the volcanoes. Everyone thought that they just want to burn the world by making the volcanoes erupt. No one predicted that they used the eruptions to spread a virus. The zombie virus.

The virus mixed with the volcanic ash and was easily spread throughout the whole world. In a matter of days the whole world was infected. The virus mutated after being exposed to the extreme heat of the lava. Plants and animals began to mutate. The mutated virus turned 50% of the population into zombies. The other 50% felt their body slowly changing. A small percentage of the population instantly evolved. Gaining special powers in the process.

June 5, 2019, 9pm was the day Poapasi finished updating his webnovel app. He slept all day and just woke up. On the way to the kitchen he noticed an announcement that the newest update for webnovel can finally be installed. So he turned on the data in his phone and started the update process.

Poapasi lived in the 5th floor of a newly built condominium. Right now there are only 5 units are occupied. It's only 15 minutes away from the city and there are few houses near the condominium. 2 years ago there was a rumor that the area would be developed. Casino, hotels and a megamall was planned to be built in this area. Unfortunately corrupt politicians smelling money, tried to fill up their pockets and asked for a lot of money. This made the investors go to taiwan and start their business there. After that happened the price of the condominium plummeted. Unit owners begin to sell at a lower price. Poapasi took advantage of it and managed to buy all 20 units in the fifth floor.

The newest update is a tribute to Ye Qiu of the novel "The King's Avatar". They designed a virtual assistant that would allow users of the app to control the app via voice commands. The best feature of the app is the mesmerizing storytelling of the text to speech mode of Ye Qiu. Instead of the usual robotic voice. They hired several professional voice actors who gave life to the story. It would have been better if there are also music and then add sound effects. But that is only available for premium users. Too bad.

While the app was still downloading the files, Poapasi started eating the noodles that he cooked. He would usually have his phone on the tale, the webnovel app open and a new chapter update displayed on the screen. But this time the app is still updating so he opened the door and placed a chair on his terrace.

He heard several growls in the next building. That's why Poapasi didn't notice the few glowing volcanic ash that fell on his food. He can sense that there is a commotion in the next building but due to the thick curtains he cant see a thing. After failing to discern what exactly is happening in the next building, he finished his food and returned inside.

He was suddenly attacked by a massive headache as well as feeling sleepy. Poapasi walked groggily to his phone. Its not the first time he felt this way. After picking up his phone he saw that the update is finished and a prompt is informing him that his phone needs to restart. He clicked "yes" and slept with his phone still in his hand.

The night passed by without incident for Poapasi. While he was asleep he didn't feel the changes occurring in his body. All the evidences from his unhealthy lifestyle disappeared leaving behind a taller, more fit, athletic body. His hair grew and changed to grey color. His eye color changed into silver and his skin tone turned a shade darker.

His phone restarted while his body is changing. Some of the energy moving through his body is transferred to the phone and it also started changing. If Poapasi is awake he would marvel at the changes happening at his phone. One by one the apps are being deleted. Webnovel is the only app that was not deleted. After deleting the apps, the phone began to melt but instead of falling to the floor, it moved like a slime and covered his wrists. Finally it took the shape of a watch.

Three hours later, the changes in Poapasi's body isnt finished yet. The strong energy coursing through his body is getting weaker and weaker. Poapasi would need more energy if he wants the transformation of his body to continue. When it seems that the energy would run out, his watch changed shape. It turned into a 4 inch action figure. A young man wearing black pants, black shoes and white jacket with red patches on the collar, the shoulder area and the end of the sleeves.

The watch turned 4 inch action figure looked around and run towards an extension cord. It brought the extension cord close to Poapasi. Then it proceeded to open the wires and placed it on Poapasi's wrist. The action figure then returned to its watch form and held the wires in place.

Because of the sudden mutation of other people and their immediate attack to any living person that it finds, people would have discovered that a certain unit in a condominium building is absorbing lots of electricity. The extreme drain of electricity continued for three days and three nights.

When Poapasi woke up he was still holding his phone. He pressed the button to check the time and slowly stood up. He opened the refrigerator and took out a bottle of water to drink. After quenching his thirst he then picked up a chair and was about to open the veranda his phone vibrated.

Thinking that he received a call, Poapasi put the chair down and looked at his phone. The screen displayed Ye Qiu from the novel "the King's Avatar". This helped remind him of the latest update on the webnovel app. He had been waiting for this update for a while and was excited to test it. He placed his phone on the table and moved his chair in front of it.

"Ye Qiu turn on mobile data, open webnovel app and check for updates." Poapasi said the commands he have been practicing for the past few days. Then he observed as Ye Qiu moved in his phone screen.

Ye Qiu jumped up, made a grabbing motion and as he fall down, he dragged down the notification panel to display the shortcuts and notifications. Out of nowhere Ye Qiu pulled out a gun and aimed at the mobile data then, bang , one shot to turn on mobile data.

Ye Qiu then crouched down and made another grabbing motion and pulled up. It looked like Ye Qiu is opening a garage door. The notification panel hid at the top of the phone and an icon of the webnovel app is all that is left on the screen display.

Another shot and the webnovel app opened. The Explore page opened with the novel tab active. Typically Poapasi ignores the comic and fan-fic tabs. The reward for check-in kicked in and he got 12 spirit stones. Ye Qiu then walked to the left of the screen and kicked. The display changed to the Library, displaying all the books in the library. At the top it says 279 mins. Also a notification displayed that '27 stories updated'.

"Open 'Supreme uprising' Novel." Poapasi looked and chapter 774 is the new update. An image of spirit stone the letter 'x' and the number '9' is displayed next to it."Ye Qiu unlock chapter 774 then start reading."

Poapasi forgot that the update "Ye Qiu Mobile Assistant" is focused on the novel "The King's Avatar". For other novels only the robotic voice is available. He closed his eyes and listened for the playback of the audio for chapter 774.

Ye Qiu looked at Poapasi in a confused manner. He was about to activate the audio feature of webnovel that uses a robotic voice but then changed his mind. He made a motion of clearing his throat and prepared to read the chapter.

"Good Evening Poapasi. Im Ye Qiu and this is the latest chapter of the novel "Supreme Uprising".

After Ye Qiu finished reading the chapter he added a few things. He stated that after listening to the chapter Poapasi has the option to rate the chapter, vote with power stone, send gifts as well write a comment. Because Poapasi is familiar with the webnovel app he didn't react much to what Ye Qiu said. Right now he is preoccupied thinking which novel he would want Ye Qiu to read. But before he made up his mind the something Ye Qiu said shocked him.

"Oh, by the way, there is a zombie waiting at the door."
