Volume 1: Ydeo's Adventure and the Trial of the Wise King - CHAPTER 6: INCIDENT BEFORE THE STORM

Fire, Scream, Blood, Tears and Destruction. Everyone is scared and confused.

"What is going on?!" Prince El-ma asked to an Elite Warrior.

The Elite Warriors are also confused while keeping the Rajah and the Prince safe from danger. They gathered and defended the royalty as they escape.

Rajah Geroleo and Prince El-ma can only say nothing but curses. They can't do anything at all.

Before the incident..... Head Warrior Gen met the Elite Warriors.

"A pleasant day everyone and as I said earlier we will execute the plan in an hour. I do not want you to underestimate the Slayer, he is stronger than we thought. The Priest and his followers are already in the Palace as we speak, the Rajah will be the one to inform the plan to the Priest. They requested to take the sword on a different route from the Slayer. I ready three ships, one for the slayer, and each of the swords.

"I want two teams to transfer the each kampilan to the ships from the Imperial Armory. Elite Warrior Sesa and Elite Warrior Alliah form your team, I want you two to lead the plan in transferring the swords." I continued instructing them.

"Elite Warrior Mar, go to the Princess and escort her to the Imperial Prison."

Everyone saluted after I brief them with the plan.

Imperial Palace, Imperial Prison and Imperial Armory are located in the Main Island, capital of the Ar-pi called the Imperia. It is one island away from the port.

Meanwhile in the Imperial Palace

"Welcome Priest Pontiveros! Known as Hero and Living Saint of Holy Covenant!"

The Rajah and the prince welcomed me and my followers as I entered the Hall.

"We are glad that you arrived safe, currently some Sea Monsters spotted frequently on the seas of Ar-pi so we were worried." The Rajah said.

"I apologize for being direct, but is the culprit still alive?" the Rajah seemed to be expecting my question, immediately answered.

"Yes, he is."

He continued, "We captured him accidentally when the warriors saw him drunk in one of our islands. The Warriors took him in custody for the safety of the citizen but when they learned the truth that the guy they captured is in the wanted list, they immediately took him to a ship on board to sail to the Mala-Laya, unexpectedly he was able to escape and hurt our men."

The Rajah immediately sent men to us to report the situation. When the Most Excellency heard this, he immediately respond by sending me here.

I hoped that I could rest as I just came back from a mission on the Great Desert.

I got annoyed to Rajah Geroleo as he tried to step in and question things about the Slayer.

"I heard that the Princess of Viyato is here" I said to change the topic.

"Yes, she is but why you seemed to be interested in that, may I ask?" the Rajah asked, I think he is trying to see if the Holy Covenant is also interested with the Princess.

People said the Princess is like a goddess which is why men will become crazy and will do anything to have her.

How cliché is that?

As if I am in a children's tale.

On the other hand in the Imperial Prison.

"Hey kid, where are you going?!"

"Sorry I have to go!"

It is the word that came in to my dream. Ydeo woke me up when he saw me sweating.

"It looks like you are having a bad dream." he said trying to make sure I'm awake. "Is it about the execution?"

"I appreciate your concern but don't worry about me, kid." I said, trying to lighten up the already suffocated mood.

"Don't call me kid I am already 16! I am young man!" Ydeo was pissed.

"Well, I am 2 years older than you."

Ydeo is persistent as he don't want to lose and he tried to make a competition.

I saw his concern as he tried talking to me, "Do not worry too much you still have a future ahead of you" I assured him.

"You are acting like an old man with your young age. Why people at your age act like they are so mature? Only immature people act like that!" he said still trying to lighten the mood.

"Why choose a stressful life if we can enjoy It." he said sadly.

"You can only say that because you haven't seen how corrupted the world is yet."

"I haven't seen it." he confirmed.

"It is good to live in an uncivilized land with little problem than in civilized land with a lot of problems." I said.

"Blah, blah, blah! You talk too much! You're acting like a kid again, don't let other people or circumstances control you!" he said.

I asked to him, "Then how should I live?"

"Our lives is worth dying if we are going to die, then why not live like a wave." he said.

"The same cliché, but look, here we are." I argued to him.

"With your thinking, I feel sorry for your parents"

"I don't remember them." I replied.

"Then I'll just feel sorry for you."

"Are you making fun of me?"

"I feel sorry for everything!" He said.

"You should not be talking to me like this. I am a murderer, I killed a lot of people, when I said a lot, I mean a lot."

"I've killed a lot of rabbits, fishes, and wolves." Ydeo argue

"Those are animals! I killed and hurt a lot of men." I said.

"I once hurt some group of men." Ydeo said.

I got annoyed and argue back to Ydeo and we ended up fighting.

This kid is arrogant for not seeing the difference of human life and an animal life!

"You seem to misunderstand things, life of an animal and life a human are no difference, killing is killing whether it is animals, sea monsters or humans.. The difference is, we kill animal to full our empty stomach, we thank the deities for giving us something to eat, we thank the gods of hunting for helping to hunt. I am not a perfect person, so I cannot be sure if what you did is justifiable." Ydeo said.

"I heard a lot of stories about war which took a lot of life yet the people glorified their rulers for bringing victory. Stories about Galleon Captains killing a lot of Sea Monsters. Known Heroes from legends that took a lot of life, which they said to be evil." He added.

"Killing a Sea Monster is not different from killing an animal and a human, as they have life like us. Is that what you mean?" I asked.

"I am not a god to determine the weight of life. I am not sure, before I came here, I attempt to kill some Sea Monsters, they look delicious, I want to try if they are delicious. Maybe I do not have sympathy on their life as I do not see them as human." Ydeo said.

"But does coming here made you realized that they are the same?" I asked.

"I just thought of it when you said that you are a murderer. But if I was in your situation, and what I have left is to kill them, I may also do it." Ydeo said.

On the other hand in the Holy Land of Mala-Laya at the Shrine, the Bishop's attendant reported to him that today is the day of arrival of Priest Pontiveros to the Kingdom of Ar-pi, and he reported that Priest Pontiveros will soon take the Slayer back. The Bishop said to the attendant to prepare a warm welcome for the Slayer.

Meanwhile, outside of the Imperial Palace,

We were waiting outside of the Imperial Palace, waiting for Elite Warrior Mar to come. Earlier the Rajah said that we could not go to the Imperial Prison without an Elite Warrior. I objected with the Rajah's decision, but when My Lady said that is was okay, I respected her decision. I guess I do not have a choice.

"It is an honor to meet you Princess Mayari, my name is Mar, an Elite Warrior. I came to escort you."

"My Lady does not need an escort, mostly from a man."

"I do not mind, we are not in our empire anyway, you may follow us Elite Warrior Mar, but keep mind your distant. I do not want to be near with a filthy man." My Lady said.

After a while we safely arrived at the Imperial Prison. So this is the Imperial Prison, this is just like our own jail but just like the Palace, it is pink. It doesn't look dangerous to me, but in old times, Pink are known to be the symbol of masculinity, but time keeps on changing and it became the color of feminism. I guess the Rajah who build this is a man of culture or maybe he is just want some humor. Elite Warrior Mar said that the Imperial Prison is supposed to be 3 stories, however, due to some break out and increase of criminality, they decided to put an underground cell which goes up to 7 stories below the ground.

"Wait here." My lady commanded to the Escort to stay outside since I alone is enough to protect My Lady inside.

"Princess Mayari, it is very dangerous here in the Imperial prison..."the Escort persisted to stay.

"Fear not. The Imperial prison is a stronghold." My Lady assured him looking straight ahead.

We already came here with him so he should not need to worry. Plus, escorting should be more than enough as an honor!

"I am more than capable to protect My lady." I convinced the Escort to not worry and I can protect My Lady.

After convincing the escort we enter the Prison and when we enter the office of the Warden, he welcome us with flowers and banquet but My Lady ignored it.

"Where is that boy now?" asked her ignoring all the decorated colors inside the obviously masculine looking room.

"Princess Mayari that boy is already in another room next to ours." the Warden answered immediately.

We went to that room to meet the young boy but before going in, My Lady asked everyone, except me to go and leave them as they talk. The Warden was hesitant at first but I assured him not to worry.

The boy is just sitting, arrogantly lookin at the ceiling. Everything about him is brown, his hair, his eyes, and his fair skin. This boy surely not from Viyato, maybe not from Yong nor Mala-Laya. Which land he came from?

"Kneel before My lady." I ordered.

"Why?" the boy asked.

'What do you mean why?'

I got pissed to him and hit him with my sword's sheathe on his head and he take it without a blink in his eyes.

I am amaze with his head, it's so hard, a hard-headed indeed.

"Stop." My lady ordered

My Lady ordered me to stop and after that I went to the door to guard it.

My Lady introduced herself, "Currently I am the Princess of Viyato, and you may call me Mayari."

"My Lady! Calling you by your name, this kid is not worthy!"

"Keep quiet, I wasn't talking to you."

What did My Lady see in this kid, is he somehow special?

"I want you to be my slave."

"I don't want to." he immediately reject.

I was shocked when I heard it. This kid should know his place!

"You don't really want to? Even if I..." the Princess removed her mask in front of this young boy. "Show you my face?" I am even more surprised of how far is My lady willing to achieve what she wants.

The most baffling thing that happen so far is that the boy did not even blink or react over seeing my lady's face. He was even picking his nose! How disrespectful!

"I said I don't want to. How annoying."

"Are you sure? You should look at me again."

He was just ignoring her. This insolent brat!

"I don't want to be a slave, okay? I want to do something else." he kept on rejecting.

My Lady seemed to be shocked and didn't know what's going on. But I am also confused of this situation, the beauty that made all of the beautiful women feel pity of themselves, does not affect the young boy. Maybe he is too young to appreciate and understand what beautiful means.

"Are you really sure you don't want to be my, my slave?" My Lady asked again to confirm pointing at herself.

"Why are you so immature? Are you a kid? I said I don't want to be your slave!"

Is this for real?

After the boy said those words he seemed to want to ask something to My Lady. He tried to resist but I guess he do this because he want to gain the upper hand in this bargain. He doesn't want to be a servant but he want to be the master. How stupid!

"Someone who is stronger than me is also inside the Prison. I want you to take him instead. I think he is stronger than me." He said.

My Lady was confused with his request. My Lady asked about him, "How about you?"

"I will find my own way to escape here, do not worry about me. One month is enough!" but My Lady was too annoyed and ordered me to take the boy by force.

And so I did.

After we went outside the Head Warrior entered the Imperial Prison

"Elite Warrior Mar, this is Ydeo, we will take him to our ship."

"As you already know, your ship was requested to be relocate on one of our own port on a different island. This is requested by the Priest as he doesn't want the Slayer to have any chance of escape."

"That is fine, as long as we get there."
