24 Preparation For The Ordeal: Part 4

For my first time ever having a spell cast by the very woe of my existence, I decided for it to be the test to see what kind of limit I possessed.

And so, I decided to create a living and breathing humanoid organism!

"GYAAAAAA! Who is this pretty mistress!??" Micca exclaimed with her one hand covering her eyes, albeit without enough gap to peek through the blind. "Why is she wearing that skimpy clothing!??"

What had unfolded in our sight was the appearance of a rather petite golden-haired kitsune wearing the kind of cheongsam where it was only a sheet of fabric that covers everything from the front.

I don't know if it's within my intention, but she possessed a rather wide hip and bountiful thighs, along with the natural promiscuous smug that was etched on her face.

"Ah, that's me," I casually proclaimed.

"That's what!??"

I extended my blobby steel limb to raise it, only for my memory failing me on what I was about to create. "Actually, I don't really know. All I can confirm is that, this lady here is me, just slightly modified in terms of some assets here and there.

"Ah now that I remember it, this is a character from a game."

"Her face is so pretty," Micca said while trying to avoid the rest of the scenery as possible. "Can I call her mommy?"

"It took me sweat and tears to acquire the father title, and she just got them immediately!? That aside, I can assure you that the face was mine before I came here."

"Can I call you mommy?"

"Aren't I your father?"

The kitsune-goddess-creation of mine barely moved an inch even with me caressing her tails.

"So you're a pervert who cosplays as these kinds of game characters?"

"Maybe I am, although I don't remember having cosplayed as anyone."

"You must have grown senile then, you pervert."

This big hole in my memory, I wonder what caused it.

Is this the effect of the attack from the Unruly One? If so, wouldn't the Calamity of the Void actually be more terrifying than my presumption??

Or the worst kind of theory…

That every permanent damage I took would also erase some part of my memory.

I confirmed that I felt lighter than before. Recapping the event of the Unruly One back then, I also assured that the holes formed on our bodies were also directly erasing our molecules, basically annihilating our flesh and bones with nothing remained

If I were to connect this even further, this might also be the effect of having my soul location overlapping with my physical body…

"Still, just what kind of magic you constructed in your mind?" Micca said, with her gaining interest and courage for the kitsune lady with every passing second.

"Ah, that. I'm just constructing a living and breathing imitation of a character as a realistic human anatomy."

"Ah, I see," Micca said, unable to digest what she just heard.

Though, I still wondered why the kitsune I created didn't react to anything. I think I managed to emulate a human's structure completely except for the brain where I just jammed my own interpretation on how a human brain works, considering that even modern technology couldn't fully comprehend the technicality of a functioning brain.

The kitsune still stood upright, and I could sense a periodic breathing and blinking. I also crammed its needed knowledge and personality within my spell construction.

Ah! It didn't possess a soul.

"Micca, do any sentient beings automatically possess a soul when they were born into this world?"

"They do, except maybe for the imitation vessel of those sentient beings. Like this beautiful mommy, for example––"

"You still called her mommy."

"Things like statues or homunculus won't possess a soul when made or born. It needs to be inserted to the vessel manually. Or you could just let them be for a very long time as the essence of consciousness being latched and forming a natural soul within them. This phenomenon can happen to all kinds of inanimate objects."

Ah, basically Tsukumogami.

"Can we theoretically create a soul from nothing."

"Well, the existence of the soul itself is still shrouded with mystery. Recreating them would need you to comprehend the fundamental strings and gears on how the soul supports itself to exist.

"Anchoring them to a physical vessel would also be an arduous task, as not only you need to know how these anchors actually work, but you also need to provide a unique dimension of space to place the store lest it becomes unstable and just simply, exit out of the body. Of course, you're a special exception to this, father."

"Will an imitation of a soul work?"

"You can certainly try?"

Hearing the anxious confirmation of my daughter filled me with a neverending excitement, but just before I could gather enough energy to perform the spell I constructed in my mind, the Blooming was forced to come to a halt before I could actualize my vision.

And just like the usual procedure, I needed to vent out all of the energy and ENE I gathered lest I want to implode my soul due to the amount of foreign.

"I'm tired…" I said as my steely jello body incessantly flatten in dejection.

"That's what happened after doing twenty minutes Blooming for your first ever spell." Micca sighed.

"Weeeeee... Though, is it possible to procure a soul somewhere or another?"

"Well, there is usually an abundant amount of wandering spirit in a forest. Though, we need a spirit that derives from an intelligent life with better knowledge and history instead of those who came from animals and bugs. Most of the time, this kind of spirits usually possess a projection similar to that of their former physical vessel, while lowly spirits from animals will appear as a ball of bluish flame that flutter and afloat.

"How does one see spirit?"

"Spirit is basically a soul that's lost within the mortal plane for all sorts of reasons, so you can just use your spiritual sense to see them."

"Like that one?" I stretched my stubby blob, pointing out the spirit I saw.

"... Yep, that one."

There was a wandering spirit with the projection of an elf-like race with sharp ears and decently beautiful figure.

That spirit noticed us who had just noticed her.

It was a pretty casual standoff of noticing one another.
