17 Rui

A week after the incident:

Inside Yu's small library, there was a little boy seated in a chair while a beautiful rose-haired girl is instructing him.

"We can't proceed further than this without acquiring a solid base; herb knowledge is critical for an alchemist; you should memorize the content of this book this month."

A massive book slammed in the table, as its weight was heavier than the fellow trying to study it.

...

Looking at the endless words inside the book. I thought, 'This will require a normal person, at least one year to finish!'

Furthermore, I'm only five years old.

As I glanced at my strict teacher with a pitful look, using one of my many weapons;

However, she wasn't like my mother, Yu, getting fazed by one look; her stare only held disappointment.

"Ok, I will try," I said, deciding that I should at least attempt to memorize some words; after all, I might discover some genius abilities, but my brain wondered about the possibility of having a special system function.

Excitedly I asked, 'System, Can you make my brain memorize the content of this book? With some kind of cheat.'

<No, the system doesn't possess such ability>

The dry answer shattered my hopes, feeling hopeless about the tremendous load of work I need to go through.

Nevertheless, an unexpected notification hit his head.

<Ping>

<Quest 1 is available>

< Understand the effect of your law over living people>

I already knew that the missions would be without any additional rewards, but the nature of the quest confused me, so I asked, 'How Am I supposed to discern something like that?'

<You have a lively environment filled with test subjects; the first thing you should do is to take random actions and see how the people react, eventually compiling them into a collective set of behaviors; which will help you extensively comprehend specific applications of your power>

Raising my brow in approval, I nodded my head, 'I see.'

Therefore, I didn't waste any time and started to build a plan, dividing my work into two parts, the physical aspect, where I will test how a plant or a body reacts to my touch. At the same time, the other was situated at the emotional side of the equation, which means I need to become a phycologist.

And, of course, nothing beats someone who's under your order.

As I glanced toward Rui, my eyes shone with a red light.

Noticing my surly mannered glimpse, she said, "What's wrong young master? is everything alright?"

"Yes, but I have a question for you," my childish voice rang in the small room.

Rui thought that I still have some kind of problem with the earlier subject and replied, "What is it?"

I smiled and leisurely raised the question, "How do you feel about me?" my words didn't have any underhanded motives.

However, they sounded like bombs in the robotic maid's ears, making her legs shook.

She was terrified of such thoughts, and before she knew it, her brain was crammed by unnerving concerns, 'Did he know that I stalk him while he takes his meals and naps?' In a lower and lower voice, 'and shower, and strolls, and even playtime?'

She continued feeling her heart rapidly flutter, babbling for a long time before she internally shouted, "and EVERYWHERE?"

Her eyes were wide open from terror; she didn't fear getting hurt by her master.

Contrary, it was part of her work, but, indeed, she was doing it excessively, to the point of being obsessed to pay attention to whatever I'm doing, but for some reason, the only thing that crossed her mind right now is her young master's opinion; she utterly couldn't stomach the idea of me disliking her.

"Hm? Everywhere? What do you mean?" I only heard the last part, so I couldn't understand what her brain was currently stuck with.

She cleared her throat, and in a soft tone, actively trembling, she asked, "W-what do you mean by that?"

"Oh, I just want to know what people think about me; you see, all the kids like to improve their image while they still young," I rang, shrugging my shoulder.

Hearing me, silence filled her soul as she listened to the best phrase in her life. Then, she maniacally laughed, sweating and breathing roughly, 'So it's just that!'

Composing herself, she mixed lies with facts, "You are a very charming boy, in fact, the most lovely child I ever met, as I hate dealing with kids, but if it's you, I'd gladly serve with all my effort."

Her mind kept escaping to the words precious instead of lovely, and steal instead of serve.

"Oh! Charming and lovely! Thanks, Rui," I mentally noted her words, asking more questions, "Hmm, What do you think special about me?"

Subconsciously her mouth won the race over her mind, mumbling again, "Everything." followed by a blush, as her blank robotic expression faded. And An overly interested complexion replaced it.

I chuckled, feeling pleased, yet I didn't take it to heart too much.

'Well, this is not going anywhere! I think I should ask her another time.'

Ending the conversation with a compliment

On my part, too, I said, "I like everything in you too," chuckling, while not understanding the number of emotions I loaded inside of her with my "kind" words.

After that, the girl couldn't stay longer, and horrifiedly ran out of the room, hiding her face with both her hands.

I caught glimpses of her tomatoes like a face on the way out, 'My words were nothing special, isn't it?' I knew a little bit about my powers, but there's no way in hell I could think that such a simple gesture of rallying a compliment will have such tremendous effects on her.

Staying in the room, I.commenced my painstaking study, putting the matter aside at once.
