9 Another Theory About Magic

[Rest Room]

Swoosh*

I raise my hand and wipe away the drops of cold sweats on my forehead.

Fortunately, I released the liquid in my rod before it released itself on my pants.

It isn't good to restrain something like that if it is about to erupt already. It can cause a problem in the future. Cancer is not impossible, not to mention.

Fortunately, the professor let me out without asking for an excuse.

The only thing that pissed me off is the evil smiles that everyone gave me when I was on my way out of the door.

I know they suspect my actions.

Damn it!

It's all that professor's fault.

Why on earth did she have to do something like that? So evil!

Subconsciously, my eyes fall on my currently resting rod...

Sigh*

I shake my head before I steal a deep breath and sigh.

After I calm down a little, I pick up my rod and hide it under my pants.

What a bold professor I have there. First, her outfit, next to her means.

If ever, I don't want such a situation to happen again.

Flash*

With the flash of water, the white liquid disappears.

Afterward, I open the door and come out. I walk towards the mirror, intending to see if anything amiss in my face.

I rested my palm on the fence as I watched myself.

My frustration can tell by my face.

Just a few minutes and I have already got some wrinkles. It feels like I got older by ten years within just that moment.

Just remembering what had happened, makes me turn red and create steam in my head.

Embarrassing.

...

"Sorry for the class interruption"

I didn't stay in the restroom for so long, less someone comes unexpectedly and smells the fishy fragrance.

After saying sorry to the professor, and getting her approval, I bow and walk back to the seat next to Jasmine and take my seat.

As soon as my butt touches the seat, I hear a call from my side.

"Where did you go, eh?" With an expression of "I know where you go and what you did", she has a playful and evil smile on her face. But somehow, I can feel that there is a wave of hidden anger, too.

Weirdo!

I am the one who has to be angry here?

Okay?

I wish I could scold her right now.

I subconsciously smile as her facial expression reminds me of something...

My sister also sometimes has this kind of atmosphere with her.

Snap*

My smile froze as a snap of a finger awakened me from my fantasy.

"What?!"

"You still don't answer my question!" Jasmine moves her head near me and whispers, "You don't need to say it out loud if you are shy. Just share it with me. Where did you go and what did you do?" Her smile turns lewd as she fires questions at me.

"Whatever, no one cares!"

I raise my hand and flick her forehead before I look at the professor, who's now teaching.

I don't want to open a conversation about that embarrassing situation, and I don't want her to dig out more about it. To make this end, instead of denying that would only make her explain everything she knows, I just indirectly agreed with what she's thinking.

Not the smartest move, but not bad.

I could feel the uncomfortable heat.

"Hahaha!"

Jasmine chuckles as she hears my ruffled reply.

"You kno~"

"Enough is enough! If the two of you are just going to talk and laugh, and don't have any intention of studying, please, just get out of the class! "

A sudden angry voice echoes that makes Jasmine halt her words and eat them back towards the depth of her stomach.

With that angry voice, the atmosphere suddenly turns gloomy. A terrifying aura instantly overwhelms the two of us, which causes us to tremble and form drips of sweat on our back.

"You guys are here to study, not to do some Lovey-Dovey! Okay?! How about the singles in this room? What if they died in a cringe?!"

The professor shouts as her brows meet each other while giving us intense eye contact.

Damn...

I am stunned why she acts like this...

I think she's overreacting.

You know, there is no rule in the room or in the whole academy where it states that it is taboo to speak in class.

Actually, it is even said that everything may get done in class.

It is the students' choice if they want to listen and learn, or not.

At least, that is what I can remember.

However, both I and Jasmine don't want more conflict. We looked at each other and shrugged.

"Sorry, Prof.!"

The two of us stand up and bow with an act of 'politeness'.

Although both of us know the rule, we are in our right mind, instead of making a scene; we answer apologetically.

Tsk*

I don't think Jasmine is sincere, though. As soon as she answered, she made a furious chuckle and her lips curled in contempt.

Her eyes are blank as if she's in deep thought.

My guts are telling me she's thinking of a great way to take her revenge.

I reach my hand in front of her and flick my finger on her forehead to wake her up.

Ouch*

She cries as she touches her forehead even though she doesn't look hurt at all; she looks at me and subconsciously gives a warm smile, yet when she realizes it, she hastily alters it into an indifferent face.

The Goddess Of weirdness, I see...

"Go, listen, or we will get a mention from the witch again! "

She rolls her eyes, then sits.

Looking at her, I shrug, then also sit.

Although I didn't know why she changed the word prof. into a witch, I agree with her to listen to the lesson.

...

"Okay, let's continue"

As the two of us sit, the lesson continues again.

The lesson today is, as always, connected to magic.

Of course, this is a magic academy.

What should I expect? Math?

Haha!

The lesson for today is about the theory of how magic emerged in the world.

Although it said the Gods gave magic to humans, just like on earth, some individuals don't want to believe in the existence of gods and speculation is being spread from here and there.

Just like how the planet earth has said to be built by God, despite that, don't theories about the creation of the world still exist?

For example, the big bang stated that the world got formed by different substances from a colossal explosion in vast space millions of years ago. I can't remember it clearly as I learned this information when I was still in grade five and grade 10. Almost three years ago, before I got summoned.

Just like how theories appeared in the world, there is also in this world. One of these theories got called "Massive Explosion", just like the big bang just has some minor differences.

The professor opens her book and searches for a certain page, then looks at us as she reads.

"The Massive Explosion Theory is one of the most famous theories of how humans gained the ability to control magic or mana"

She put the book down and continues

"Based on this theory, at the beginning of time and space, even if you are a human, an elf, a beast, or whatever race you are in, everyone doesn't own mana and no one can even barely wield magic."

"Magic doesn't even a thing back then"

The professor halts, then look around.

"Anyone knows about Gods' Theory?"

As the question blurts by the professor, many students raise their hands and silently wait for them to be called.

The professor suddenly looks in our direction and a playful smile cracks on her lips.

"Okay, Rolan, can you explain what you know about Gods' Theory?"

Swoosh*

I just feel my brain freeze.

I didn't even raise my hand.

Damn it...

Seeing that the professor has no plan to call someone but waits for me, I finally give up and just take a deep breath before I stand up.

"The God Theory. This theory speaks about how magic appears in the world with the help of faith and gods."

My voice isn't low, now loud, just enough to be heard by everyone.

"Hundreds of thousands of years ago, a Great World War happened. Humans planned to have a peaceful life, so our ancestors didn't take part."

"However, beasts invade our continent's and our ancestors have left no other choice, but fight for freedom"

"With the damage of that war, with casualties continuing to rise, it said that humans found a new way to survive."

I just stand before my seat, explaining nonstop, looking at the professor while my hands are subconsciously doing a compass as I explain.

"Our ancestors built the largest church in the entire world called Gods' Sanctuary and there, they kneeled, cried, and summoned the gods for them to be given the ability to wield magic and manipulate mana?"

"That's all Prof."

I steal a deep breath and sigh as I think my lungs are about to stop functioning with the continuous explanation.

°Is that really him?°

°Yeah, I too find it quite bizarre°

°Who would have thought. Tsk*°

°Maybe he changed now. Haha°

°I don't know, but maybe. Hahaha°

Murmurs sound in the crowd as I wait for the professor to let me sit.

"Stop muttering, if you guys have something to say, stand up and explain it to everyone."

The small sound suddenly flattens.

"Okay, Rolan, why are you still standing?"

Eh?

Okay?

I have an urge to roll my eyes at her, but because she's a professor, I suppress the annoyance and just take my seat.

"Okay, now that Gods' Theory already explains, I will also explain about the Massive Explosion Theory."

The professor looks at the book before she nods her head. She closes the book, then walks to the middle of the stage.

Waving a stick that I don't know where it comes from, she says;

"To make it easier to understand, I'll show you what happened back then"

She raises one of her hands and opens her palm.

Suddenly, a screen appears above her palm and it shows us a scene that we didn't expect to happen in the vast space.

There are millions of stars that are circulating in outer space. One star accidentally crashed into another star and there, stars crashed into each other and created a massive explosion that could destroy even a world.

Based on the explanation written on the screen, the explosion continued nonstop, until two million and nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand years passed.

When the massive explosion stopped, it was also the time of the start of the magic era.

"Based on what you read on the screen, as this massive explosion stopped, the magic era stars"

The professor gives a serious look.

"However, don't misunderstand it. That doesn't mean, out of a sudden, people learned how to use magic. Nope."

She shakes her head as she explains.

"This only means that the mana enters our world with the debris rain"

"The destroyed stars fell on our planet and the mana or the energy of stars mixed with our atmosphere."

"Every continent, there is debris that fell, but unfortunately, because of the geographic structure of the human continent, there is only a small amount that fell here"

"This is the main reason humans became the weakest in magic"

"Now, why did I ask about the war? Well, let me explain"

"Back then at war, humans didn't rely solely on their prayers. Our ancestors abducted many people of other races and studied them. They made researches about mana and magic with their body"

"In this theory, humans didn't get the ability to wield magic by the Gods, but because of the colossal explosion and research on humans. It caused not devotions but blood, sweat, and life of humans and other certain race"
