21 Zoe & Grizzbolt

As I touched the doors to the tower I felt myself being transported like I would if I used the fast travel points, though instead it felt as though I was sucked inside instead.

Soon enough I reappeared in this new rather strange and futuristic looking arena that I was now standing in as I looked around.

There were pillars all around along with a glowing blue barrier that surrounded the arena to keep one from falling into an unknown abyss.

I walked on down the stairs into the proper arena as I kept looking around, but there was no one to be seen.

"Well, well, what do we have here? Some nobody just came walking up into My Tower?" I hear a voice as I look up and see a balcony above on the opposite side from where I was.

Soon enough a girl wearing what I would consider to be a punk outfit from the looks of it came out to show herself as she leaned over the railing down towards me.

"This Nobody is here to kick your ass and take the power of this Tower for myself." I say as I point up to her, and while she was good looking and all that, I had a job to finish, so unless I have to I won't kill her at least.

"Hah!" She laughs before hoping down from the balcony and landing with ease as she looked back towards me.

"I'd sure as shit like to see you try!" She said before pulling out her own Pal Sphere as she tossed it up towards the sky.

*Boooom!* after a flash of bright light suddenly a huge bear like pal appeared as he landed on the ground before me.

His frame was massive as he stood at least fifteen feet tall before I saw Zoe go and jump onto the back of her pal Grizzbolt.

"I'm Zoe Rayne! And this is Grizzbolt! Now prepare to get your ass kicked by yours truly!" She said in a cocky way as Grizzbolt just looked down on me and smiled with a toothy grin.

"OOOOOOHHHH!!!!" Grizzbolt shouted out before sharpening his claws against eachother as the battle was about to begin.

"Girls! To me! Let's show these two what we got!" I shout out before pulling out all my pal spheres and tossing them out as Liza and the rest joined me in battle.

"Squee!"

"Squee!" (x4)

"You think some bees are going to beat me and Grizzbolt? Fat chance! Grizz! Light them up!" She shouted out before Grizzbolt began to cover his arms in lightning.

"Keep out of his range and keep flying around!" I shout to them as arcs of lighting began to shoot off towards me and then as I ran and they flew to dodge their attacks as I took aim with my crossbow as I took potshots at her.

"Squee squee squeeee!!!"

"Squee! Squee!" (x4)

Liza began to lead the charge with the others as they began to use their grass moves such as leaf storm and poison smoke along with the super effective earth moves such as Rock shower, Earth Spike and sand storm.

"Ahhhh! Fuck off!!!" She shouts out getting pissed with all the attacks that were hurting her best friend as Grizzbolt crossed his arms and began to charge up a massive attack.

My eyes widened seeing this, "Get Back!" I shout out before ducking behind one of the massive Pillars in the nick of time as she-

"LIGHTNING STORM!!!" I heard Zoe scream out as Grizzbolt roared with all of his might before a massive wave of electricity filled up most of the arena.

"Squee!!!" (x2)

Suddenly I saw Fiona and Jenny get caught in the Lightning storm before being thrown and crashing up against the arena barrier before falling to the ground while electricity jolted all across their body.

"Fiona! Jenny! Shit just take a rest for now." I say before pulling out their spheres as I put both away to let them rest and recover from their paralysis.

"Haha! Not so tough no- OH SHIT!" She shouts out as I toss out my back up weapons, a few grenades I had gotten from taking out her syndicate thugs.

*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*

Several explosions rang out that hit Grizzbolt causing him to stumble and hurt him pretty bad as the force of the explosions was able to pierce through his extremely thick skin making him bleed even more.

"Grizzbolt!" She shouted out as she was worried for her best friend as the damage was rapidly beginning to pile up before eventually…

"Grrrrrroooooo….." He groaned out before he finally fell forward and hit the ground hard as he was finally put out of commission signaling the end of the battle.

I was breathing heavily and the girls were hurt as sparks of electricity danced on their skin while only Liza was the most healthy and relatively best condition, so I called the rest back to their spheres while me and Liza approached the down Grizzbolt and the crying Zoe.

"Haaaa, haaaa, haaaaa, it's over Zoe, give up because I don't want to go any further than this…" I say as I aim my gun towards her.

"Grrrroooo….." Grizzbolt, even in his half conscious state, still moved his large hands to try and protect his friend and master.

"Grizzbolt…. Please just stop I…. I give up…. I surrender…." She says with tears in her eyes as she hugs Grizzbolt closely as I put my gun back in its holster along with my crossbow back onto my back.

I hear that familiar sound of my Paldeck makes when I complete objectives, and when I pulled it out suddenly an orb of blue light with what appeared to be a key within before it entered my Paldeck as I went to look at my main quest.

[Main Quest! Find a Way Home]

[Description: You have some how ended up on the mysterious Palpago's Islands and have no way to get home]

[Objective: Clear all 5 Towers by defeating thier Guardians and gaining their Towers Tokens before the Way to the World Tree is opened and Defeat the Final Challenge that awaits]

I looked at it for a little bit and put it away as I turned to look at the crying Zoe as she kept hugging the heavily injured Grizzbolt.

Seeing this I looked at Liza who looked back at me as I nodded to her before she slowly nodded back.

She then began to float up before she began to dance high in the air above us as she released these green lights that reminded me of fireflies in the middle of the night.

Zoe looked up at this as she wiped the tears from her eyes before she saw Grizzbolts body glow green as all his wounds began to heal up and after Liza was done Grizzbolt began to slowly get up into a sitting position as he looked at himself and seeing he was fully healed.

"Grizz! Your okay!" She cry's out happily as she hold her friend tightly as he just scratches the side of his head while he looks at us.

"Zoe I don't have anything against you or anything, but I needed that Tower Token to help me get home." I say as Liza comes back to my side before I put her back in her sphere as well to rest up.

Zoe looks at me before doing the same for Grizzbolt as she stands up and looks at me, "Get home? What? Your from outside the island or something?" She says patting off the dust from her clothes.

"You could say that, the tokens that all the towers have are the only way to open the path towards the world tree on that island way off in the distance." I decide to tell her as she doesn't seem to be that bad of a person, at least to me if she can cry over the state of her pal unlike the other syndicate members who could give less than two shits about any pals they see.

"Oh that huge tree? Yeah I always wondered about that, I guess the towers get rid of that barrier around that place it seems." (Zoe)

"Barrier? What the kind that's similar to these shield things?" (Me)

"Uhuh, that but it's the size of the island…. It's also the place my dad supposedly disappeared off too…" She said with a sad look.

"Then want to come with me in beating the towers?" I ask but she just shakes her head.

"What? You think we are all buddy buddy with eachother now? I don't know what's going to happen when you leave the tower with that token but I feel like I won't be able to stay here anymore and when the syndicate knows I lost they will want my head on a platter so another person can become the boss of this crew." She says before crossing her arms and turning away from me.

"Well I guess that makes sense, but still I think it would be for the best you'd at least head off to my base at the Plateau of Beginnings and stick nearby there until this all blows over, and hey if you ever feel like it you can help me out with the towers and get to see what that big trees all about and maybe even finding it your dad or at least something about him." I said which she looked over her shoulder at me before looking away.

"…. I'll think about it, now get out of here already…. I want to be left alone for a bit…." She said seeming unsure of what she should do next.

I just scratch my head and do what I say before I begin to be transported out of the tower before I was standing on the very top of it all.

Suddenly the tower began to glow a bright blue light before shooting towards the sky before the light landed off in the distance as it hit the world tree.

And like she said their was a barrier surrounding the island of the world tree as it glowed to protect it as the light hit, the barrier shook but took the beam of light and was able to hold out against it, but if one was close you could see the barrier dim ever so slightly as a result.

This light was noticed by the entire island for everyone to see, from humans to pals, the legendary pals and even the other towers noticed.

"How strange…. I sense things are going to change, and whether it's for the good or bad remains to be seen." A woman wearing ceremonial robes while wielding what appeared to be a ancient looking but powerful spear in her hands as a large female looking pal stood next to her.

"Wooo!! Man this is awesome!! I'm getting inspired to write up a song from this crazy display! You feel the same Orserk?" A tan skinned man wearing what could be called rapper clothes shouted out from atop his tower situated at the top of an active volcano as he looked at his electric bipedal Dragonoid pal.

"Zerk! Zerk!"

"I knew you would agree!" The man said back as they high fived each other.

"Hmph, like hell I'm giving up my control to some upstart." An older man in his mid thirties wearing some rather extravagant clothes said as he looked out from his tower overlooking a vast desert wasteland as his large fire bird like pal kept silent as it stared at its master with a hidden deep seated hatred in its eyes.

"Intriguing…. So the prophecy is about to commence…. I must prepare for their arrival as I will be the one to unlock the secrets of the world tree and no other." A young white haired 'blind' looking man wearing a dark black scientists outfit said before he stepped off from the tower himself without a parachute before he casually began to walk down from the tower as their were steps beneath his feet while the brutal cold of this icy mountain did nothing to him as well.

"No matter, in the end I shall have my way…." He mutters to himself while a large black gryphon pal flys through the sky's around the tower to protect their master.

"One step forward, only four more to go." I say as I stare are the rest of the islands as I prepare to get ready for the next chapter of my journey.

"But I still have a long way to go." I say before taking the fast travel point on top of the Tower before going home to celebrate with the rest of my pals for a job well done.
