A single ray of sunlight shone down and pierced through the eyelids of Xu Que who was asleep but was abruptly awoken by it.

He felt an itch on his face and noticed that he was lying in a field of grass.

At this point, Xu Que could hear a series of "dings" in his head, coming from the system.

As he shouted out in fear and surprise, his body reacted instinctively, as he legs slid backwards, avoiding the sword. His finger then seemed to harness the powers of water Qi as he gently tapped on the surface of the incoming sword.

"Bang!"

A vibrating sound rang out as the sword ricocheted away from him.

"How How could it be?"

The girl was temporarily stunned. Apart from the skillful and powerful uncles within her sect, the senior brothers and sisters who could repel this flying sword with such ease would at least have to be of the sixth level of the Foundation Building Stage!

"I am extremely puzzled. I already said that everything that happened earlier was a misunderstanding and youre still confused? You still have the cheek to make an attempt on my life? One of the old women had a sinister and fierce glance etched across her face as she glared at Xu Que. Just this stare alone made Xu Que feel like he was being imprisoned within her eyes. It was almost as if his entire life was hinged at the tips of her fingers, as helpless as an insect.

Crap! These few old people are extremely formidable!"

He could feel the pressure emitted from their bodies, radiating out towards him. Xu Que knew at once that he wouldnt be able to overpower them.

"What boldness! You dare to commit evil acts right under the mountain of our Celestial Sect? Today I shall administer justice."

The old woman cleared her throat as she waved a palm in the air. A fiery snake was conjured as it slithered on her arm and flew towards at Xu Que, emanating a majestic, blazing aura around it.

"Screw this! Old woman, how could you be so evil? How could you attack without speaking a word or giving any warnings?"

Xu Ques face turned, as he hastily invoked earth Qi from the ground and fused it together with his feet as they seemed to become one with the earth. His reflexes and speed increased tremendously as he darted to the side to avoid the blow.

The fire snake missed him on the first strike as it turned its head deftly, mouth wide open to launch a second assault. All of a sudden, it split into two snakes, attempting to block his retreat as the pair of fire snakes charged towards him.

Xu Que inhaled a deep breath of cold air. This old woman was really trying to kill him!

Damn it, who did I offend this time?

Xu Que was extremely unhappy and yet he had no choice but to run. If not, he would have to pay with his dear life.

"Sou!" He had nearly expanded all the earth Qi as he turned back to look at the pair of fiery snakes hot on his heels. "Xue Rou, master shall lend you my Immortal Trapping Rope. Use this to capture him." The old woman instructed as the golden rope floated up into the air and dropped gently before Xue Rou.

Xue Rou was stunned. This was her masters most precious weapon! Once this rope was used, even people who were at the Golden Core stage would fall prey to it quickly. Its just that with masters skills and proficiency, taking this person down would be only too easy. Why didnt she do it herself then?

Not only Tang Xue Rou, but the old woman and the other two elderly people were shocked and their faces fell.

He was in extremely high spirits as he stood up and observed his surroundings.

He noticed many chests large and small, scattered all around. It was giving off a certain fragrance and was an extremely strange sight to behold.

Xu Que was overjoyed. Just as he was about to take a step forward to examine it, he raised his head and looked up. He saw a signboard hung overhead with inscriptions of dragons and phoenixes flying. There seemed to be several words written as well Celestial Sects Treasure Room!

Xu Que was overjoyed. He then operated the system by controlling his mind and opened the inventory before placing the sword into it.

He then opened a second wooden chest. He saw several vials encased within. The vials were labelled as Energy Accumulation Pills.

"Ive struck it rich!"

Xu Que once again kept several vials into the inventory within his system before scooting off to the next chest.

Only after more than half of the chests had been opened its contents taken and stored within his inventory, that he realized there was a limited amount of space within. Every item that was different occupied a square block, signifying a single item slot. Hence he knew that it was impossible to store every item here within his inventory.

"Thats damned embarrassing! There are still so many treasures left. If I dont take them, I would suffer the wrath of heaven!"

"No, I definitely wont waste all these treasures here. I have to think of a way"

Xu Que sat down on the floor in contemplation.

Xu Que thought to himself and knew that such pills cannot be taken rashly. He decided to try a single pill of each before deciding.

Thus, he opened the Energy Accumulation Pills and poured out a single black pill. He then shoved it into his mouth. He chewed on it like a candy but couldnt detect the faintest trace of flavour or taste.

"Gulp!" He swallowed down the remnants of chewed up pill and furrowed his eyebrows. "Strange. Not only does it not have any taste but I dont feel anything different as well. Could it be that its past its expiration date?"

"Maybe I should eat another"

In between his own mumblings, he opened the second vial of Energy Accumulation Pill

All the way up to the tenth pill, the only feeling experienced by Xu Que was that he was slightly full and yet he still couldnt feel anything different about his body.

The youth with a sword by his side frowned as the corners of his lips twitched.

He swept a glance at the empty treasure room before turning his gaze to this unfamiliar face standing in front of him. In a short while, his expression started to change into one of intense rage. Zheng! He drew out his sword and pointed it at Xu Que and asked ferociously, "Who are you? How dare you trespass into my sects treasure room!"

Xu Que turned to look at the system interface screen and noticed the last remaining Divine Escape Emblem left in the item slot. He then started laughing out loud.

"Brother, you dont even know who I am and you dare to point your sword at me? Dont you know? In this entire life, the one thing I hate the most is for someone to point a gun Oh, for someone to point a sword at my face?"

"Ding! Congratulations host Xu Que for successfully acting tough. The reward is one act tough point."

The sword wielding youth paused, a confused look could be seen on his face, "But, I didnt point it at your head!"

He then realized what hed just said and snapped back into anger, "Cut the crap! You dare to enter our sacred treasure room. Youre clearly looking for death."

The minute his last word was spoken, the youth swung his sword with a whoosh. The deadly flash of the sword could almost be heard as bright red light reflected across to the four corners of the room. A stream of ember flames spilled out and charged towards Xu Que, causing him to feel an intense heat.

His mother, this kid is really unkind! And much more powerful than that immortal girl from earlier. At the very least, hes at the Foundation Building Stage! Why do all these cultivation people so fierce and violent. They always attack to kill without giving any warning or speaking and their opening attacks are always so powerful.

Xu Que cursed out aloud as he charged some energy from within his body to defend himself. However, he felt something wasnt quite right.

Xu Que clutched at his lower abdomen, just above the navel, where the dantian was. The dantian was the region where Qi was stored and it felt like the immense energy was about to force its way out. It was so intense that he knew the amount of energy trying to escape would surely kill him and shatter his body.

Why was this happening?

Xu Que then recalled the number of pills he gulped down recklessly as his face turned pale.

Im finished. Im really finished.

With so many pills in my stomach Im done for. So it wasnt that the pills werent taking effect but that I had to rotate all the Qi around for me to feel it.

After consuming all those pills, he didnt think to rotate the Qi around his body and thus didnt feel the effects of it. Only after he was forced to utilize some energy to defend himself from the youth did he rotate his Qi.

"How dare you thief! What tricks are you trying to pull off this time?"

Zhang Su Liang glared at Xu Que, trying to size him up. Seeing him clutch his belly and all the empty vials around him. He finally understood the situation. With a face full of shock and fear, he sputtered, "You... Did you consume all those pills?"

At this point, Xu Que had no energy to reply him. His entire face was contorted as he grimaced in agony, his cheeks becoming paler by the second.

Even with five different spiritual roots, he was completely unable to assimilate such copious amounts of Qi.

He had consumed far too many pills and his body which was festered with impurities couldnt handle the pureness of the Qi.

"Since youre in so much pain, why dont I put you out of your misery!"

Zhang Su Liang couldnt bear to hear his screams any longer as he clutched the hilt of his sword and decided to end his sufferings.

Seeing the present situation, he mustered the remnants of his energy and gritted his teeth, "Dont bother about me. Everyone has to die sooner or later in spite of how severe or easy their deaths would be. If I dont enter hell, who else shall? Ah!!!"

The minute his last word echoed out, there was a whoosh as Xu Que disappeared from sight. It did seem like he had really died then and his soul vanished from the spot. Even his body had been utterly destroyed as well.

Zhang Su Liangs mouth was gaping wide as he struggled to believe what he saw. It took him a long time before he regained his senses. It was as if he was taken aback by the sagely words spoken by Xue Que.

He licked his cracked up lips before sitting up to pour himself some water to drink.

At the same time, he sucked in a breath of cold, fresh air. Pain coursed through his entire body agonizingly as he fell back down onto the bed helplessly.

Following the sounds, he had ripped apart the bandages on his body as it fell to the ground.

At this point the finally composed Xiao Rou pushed open the door once again and entered.

At this point, her gaze fell upon Xu Ques. Her pupils dilated as her smile turned into one of extreme horror as she let out a loud shriek. Her entire face turned a deep shade of red as she ran out of the door.

Xu Que paused for sometime, his expression was suspicious as he looked down at himself. What he saw caused his face to turn as red as a pigs liver.

With the removal of the bandages, Xu Ques body revealed to be smooth with only a layer of sticky ointment left on the surface of his skin.

"The condition of your injury is still severe and the physician advised that medication should not be stopped within a month. Why did you remove your medicinal bandages?"

Xiao Rou reprimanded from outside, but was afraid to come in.

Xu Que quickly grabbed hold of his patch-filled blanket from his bed and wrapped it around himself. He then coughed and said, "Xiao Rou, Im fine, its only a superficial injury. Could you get me a set of clothes?

Furthermore, since Xiao Rou was there too, it is a must to go. He could also "act tough", if the situation allowed to earn some acting tough points.

Xu Que was so quick that the blanket he donned fluttered with the wind. The red cloth he wrapped around his lower body made him look like a beggar version of a superhero of some sort.

In a split second, Xu Que overtook those villagers, flashing past them and giving them a scare.

"What the, how is this little doll running so quickly? He doesnt even look like he is injured!"

The sounds of anger were from the people and the roars were seemingly from the wild beast.

Xu Ques vision switched away from the crowd and in sight was a few able-bodied men and a wild beast.

The wild beasts frame was gigantic, akin to the size of a black ox, looking very strong and ferocious. However, it had a tigers head. Its roar was accompanied by sharp fangs and it was utterly terrifying and overwhelming.

Despite it, the few men did not retreat holding the hoes while standing at the front of the crowd, confronting with the wild beast.

Xu Que witnessed all these and shouted, "Let go of that beast!"

In a moment, everybodys attention was on him.

Busy adjusting his blanket, Xu Que added, "Let me handle this!"

"Ah! Why are you here?", a shocked voice traveled from the crowd. It was Xiao Rou.

The rest of the villagers knew Xu Que too. With a change in tone, they exclaimed, "Kid, hurry back. If you move any closer, you will get hurt by the wild beast again."

"Right! You are injured. Hurry back!"

Before Xu Ques acting tough was completed, everybody gathered and blocked his way. Xu Que urgently responded, "Fellow villagers and elders, I do not have time to explain. Please let me handle this wild beast."

However, the villagers did not understand and were determined to block his path, insistently disallowing him to walk into his own death.

An elderly, leaning against his walking stick then walked out from the crowd. He sincerely advised, "Little doll! We all know that you have a kind heart but with your tiny frame and your injury, how could you stand a chance against the wild beast? Be good and dont force yourself. Look! The men are all already hurt by the wild beast."

Sand and dust filled the air at the village entrance. The countless gathered men flew and within the dust, hints of blood could be seen under the light.

The villagers in the midst of persuading Xu Que were shocked by the sound. Their face changed when they turned around.

Within the gradually subsiding sand dust, an enormous pitch-black figure emerged abruptly, roaring and dashing towards them!

The roar sent an intimidating and terrifying atmosphere and everything seemed to momentarily come to a standstill.

Xiao Rou who was standing at the front of the crowd, turned white. Within her pupils, a pair of talons was increasingly becoming bigger...

A strong gust of wind swept the sand dust away, similar to a severe and harsh winter winds revealing the icy cold floor, about to rip Xiao Rous weak figure to shreds.

"Its over!"

The surrounding villagers cried out in alarm one after another as if they had already witnessed her impending bloody doom.
