85 To Live Or To Die...

"What was that?" Andrei asked as he watch Larson leave. He then turned to Charmaine. "How did you know the Clemonte sisters? And how did you know Chatherine Clemonte will be paired to Vince Ji? Someone told you?" Andrei asked.

Charmaine shrugged her shoulders. "Instead of that, let's talk about you and Larson. Do you like him?" She asked frankly. It's a good way to distract Andrei from the previous topic and seeing as Drei's face just started to change color: becoming a bit red, it seemed to be working.

"Nonsense! He's a bit interesting but I don't have a crush on him." he denied. Charmaine just chuckled at his reply. Even if he say no, his expression says otherwise.

"Luke!" Charmaine called when she finally found the boy standing in front of a room in the third floor. He was staring at the door as if he was seeing something she couldn't. "What is it?"

Luke turned to her for a second before glancing at the door once more. "Do you know whose room this is, mommy?" he asked.

Charmaine walked closer and stopped in front of the room. She too locked her eyes on it for while. "I don't think anyone is using it right now. But the one in your right is your daddy's room." she replied. "What's the matter?"

Luke shook his little head. "I don't know. It just feels like I have been to this room before." he replied with his eyes still glued to the wall. Charmaine remained silent and just stood there with Luke for a minute or so, thinking about something. The room before them was supposed to be Luke's room if he was to grow up in the Ji mansion. Charmaine have done many things that changed the child's course of fate, but could it be that this is the child's rightful place? Is it calling for him; his place as the Ji family heir? Sounds silly but the things that she subconsciously taken away from the child.... she only thought about it now.

Charmaine sighed and turned to Luke. "Baby, your great grandpa was asking me if we could stay here with him for a while. What do you think? Do you want to stay?"

Luke nodded but didn't say anything. Sometimes, she really find the child's actions very weird. Usually quiet, it's hard to tell what has been running in the kid's little mind. Just like that very minute as Luke stood there like a statue, trying to figure out if he really was in that room before. For a child like him who remembers everything in his life, those that he seemed to fail to recall about.... it really fascinates him.

How many days has it been? Jun Ji frowned in boredom but didn't say anything. The days has even become longer since Bianca stopped visiting him. Now, he's just annoyed and exhausted of living his life more than ever. If only he could see, he would have the means to end his miserable and tiring life. How pathetic.

"Mr. Ji. Someone is here to see you." Suddenly, he heard the nurse looking after him announce. Jun Ji paused before nodding his head. He wondered who that someone is. Could it be... Bianca?

"Who is it?" he asked with a frown. His voice was colder than before.

"It's just me, brother. I'm here to check on you." a woman's voice replied next to him.

Laura. It was Laura. He was a bit disappointed but he didn't show it. He just sneered. "Really? You're not here to see the doctor instead?" he uttered as if mocking her.

"Huh? That doctor you're talking about is my boyfriend. I don't need an excuse to him." she replied. "Why is it so hard for you to believe that I'm trying to help you here?"

Jun Ji pursed his lips. So it's like that? The doctor threating him was Laura's boyfriend? So it was just Laura trying to help him? The old man at home really didn't care for him? Anyway, what more does he expect? That old bag of bones only cared about Leo Ji from the very start. He's not even a Ji anymore, so what does he really expects from them? He's such a fool.

Jun Ji lifted a corner of his lips to a snicker. "Heh... Why are you even wasting your time on me, Laura? I wasn't kidding when I told you I'll get rid of you if you stand in my way... Why not just do both of us a favor and give me a bottle of sleeping pills so I can sleep forever. Or a knife so I can cut my wrist."

"If it's that easy to convince me to let you die, I wouldn't have kept you in this hospital for so many days. Why would I let you die after paying an enormous amount for your hospital bills?" Well, technically, it's her grandfather's money. But whatever. She's the one constantly visiting Jun Ji. She spent so much effort to just be swayed by Jun's provocation.

"Do you think you can get your money back? I'm a trash now. You're just wasting your fortune. You know it'll benefit everyone if I just disappear." Jun Ji replied.

Laura raised her brows. "Why are you so eager to die? Can't you man-up and face these hurdles bravely? There are some people who wants you to get better. Although you don't need them? They need you."

Jun Ji's mocking smile remained. "Like who? Can you name a few?"

"Like Bianca... " Laura replied. Jun shook his head when he heard that name. He knew Laura would mention her but he froze when she continued. "And your child. He will need a father someday." she added.

A father. Laura just confirmed that Bianca was pregnant with his child, didn't she? Why? Why does she have to carry the child of a useless person like him? He really hates what he was feeling at that very moment.

Laura Ji watched as her brother fall into silence. She didn't know that she will regret saying those words that very night. Her words will be haunting her for the next months to come as Jun Ji, a few hours after their conversation had a seizure and had to fight for his life for the next hours. That was the last time she saw him.

Two days later, she came back to the hospital looking for Liam. She has been unable to reach him for a whole day and so she was worried. But Liam wasn't there anymore. "Doctor West? I think he went back to US last night. He wasn't needed anymore after he lost his patient." the nurse told her.

"Lost? What happened to Jun? Where is he?" she asked, panicked. How? Why? Jun Ji just.... died like that? And Liam... he didn't even called to tell her anything?

Laura's hands were shaking. What's happening? She just can't understand anymore.
