Xi Lian : Queen's Path of Life

"I want to go to school!"

"What?!?" The old man staggered back with eyes wide.

"That's right! I want to go to high school!"

"Nonsense! Why would you want to go to high school?" The old man harrumphed and thumped his cane on the wooden floor, creating a huge hole on the tile.

"Well...Haven't I been taking all types of courses here?" She started counting with her fingers. "Like shooting, flower arrangement, coroner, bungee-jumping, knife handling courses, and even how to hide a dead man's body!"

With a proud smile, the old man grinned. Chest and cane high up in the air, "Well of course! You are my granddaughter! The Xi family's precious jewel! All persons here must learn assassination to protect themselves and all other courses to be well rounded and talented."

He continued, "You should know by now that we aren't a normal family. All those elite families that commoners know about are just our servants, all those in the underground world are only fit to polish our feet. Normal people don't even know about us. They only know that there are even bigger families that control the elites."

"But that's so boring! I can rarely go out and meet normal people. I've already researched thoroughly on the internet, I want to go to a normal school. They teach things only like math and English there."

"What are you spouting about? You already learned math to the college level. Your knowledge could contend against the masters. And you already know English! You learned twelve languages, didn't you?"

"Grandpa, this is my wish! You don't intend to go back on your promise, do you?"

SEVEN YEARS BACK

"My little Xi family's precious jewel, what do you want most in this world?"

The little six year old girl, with puffy cheeks and sparkling eyes looked up at her grandpa and exclaimed with a bright smile, "I want mommy and daddy!"

Sadness touched the flecks of the old man's eyes. With a melancholy smile he said, "Your mommy and daddy are gone from this world. Unfortunately, I can give you anything but that."

"My dear Xi Lian, how about I make you a deal? If one day you beat all three of your older brothers in a duel one-on-one I will grant you a wish."

"Really? Okay! Then I'll beat them up until you can no longer recognize them!"

PRESENT DAY

Chuckling, the old man Xi Yi was reminded of this scene seven years ago. His granddaughter was really able to triumph his three grandsons, all three of them beaten black and blue!

"Alright, alright then. I don't intend to go back on my promise. I'll let you do what you want alright."

Xi Lian glanced at him suspiciously, when did her grandpa become to easy to convince?

Noticing her suspicious stare, he laughed heartedly "What? Don't trust your own grandpa now? Don't worry, I'll let you go to school. However, I have some conditions."

"State your conditions! I can't guarantee that I'll follow them."

"Number one, you aren't allowed to get too close with boys, you understand? This is the most important!"

Xi Lian rolled her eyes.

"Number two, I will send some people to keep you safe in emergencies. Don't worry, don't worry, I'll only send two people to pretend to be your classmates."

Xi Lian understood the importance of her going to a normal school. It was dangerous. Even if she were in the Xi family, there were still enemies that couldn't wait to have her dead. And those that didn't have the fortune to know about her family would be blind dogs that carelessly offended her. The elites of the elites often hid themselves and controlled the rich in the dark. "That's it? Pick my school then. But high school is starting in a few days so you must hurry and choose."

Old man Xi Yi shook his head, "Xi Lian, I have already chosen your school. This school is the best of the best in City A. Even the rich elites may not be accepted. All students there are geniuses just like you. Some may even be on equal footing or better than you. I heard that Old Mu's and Old Liu's family's children will study there starting this year."

"Old man, I said normal! Normal! Can't I just go to a normal school?"

Xi Lian's eyes grew wide. To gain such a long complimentary speech from her powerful grandpa was an accomplishment! So amazing! She really wanted to fight against those other geniuses...everyone in her family was already beaten up by her, how boring..

But she wanted to try being normal... Agh! Never mind normal, this was too exciting to pass up!

Alas, the temptation of going head on with the mighty wasn't something she could resist.

With confidence, she declared "Grandpa! I will go to this school and beat up all my classmates until you can no longer recognize them! They will all grovel on the ground and have no choice but to follow my commands!"

Hearing this passionate declaration made grandpa Xi Yi's heart proud and warm. His blood boiled. Because this was the same declaration made by Xi Lian seven years ago!

"Hey grandpa, since this school is trustworthy can you not send bodyguards then? I don't need anyone pretending to be my classmate."

"...You were just waiting for this right?"

Beaming grin, "Yeah!"

Grandpa Xi Yi was speechless, "...Alright, alright then...No bodyguards.."

Hearing that, Xi Lian jumped away to prepare her things for school excitedly.

Staring at her figure, the old man's eyebrows creased and he shouted after her "Aye! Remember condition one! Remember condition one, you hear me? Don't get close to boys!"
