6 Your Chambers

The people of Xandia all rushed towards the sound of the distant drumming, the trumpets and singing and elaborate displays, lots of attendants and guards who surrounded a carriage approaching the Kingdom.

The news about the princess of Tycan visiting the kingdom circulated. Everyone wanted a glimpse of the beautiful princess; to their disappointment, the carriage was covered preventing anyone from getting a glimpse of the princess.

Once the entourage and the carriage had reached the castle doors, the herald blew his trumpet announcing their presence. The doors slowly opened allowing passage for the carriage and it's entourage.

Princess Amelia along with her maidservants curtseyed before the King and Queen. " it is my pleasure to be welcomed to your humble abode, Your Majesties" she smiled.

The King and Queen were a little surprised seeing the elegant blue dress she wore, her hair in a twisted, sides swept chignon as she bowed, "it's our pleasure, how was the trip from Tycan" the King tried starting a conversation.

"it was eventful Sire, and peaceful" she calmly replied, she looked around the throne room for awhile, "May I ask a question Sire?" she looked up waiting for a sign of acknowledgement, to which he did by nodding his head.

"It seems the prince is not present here, could it be perhaps he doesn't want to welcome me?" the princess looked at the King and Queen looking for any slip-ups she could use to her advantage.

"No, he's not feeling well, that's all" the Queen said a little too quickly, "what she meant to say was he is busy at the moment, but will officially welcome you at the banquet" the King countered which earned him a glare from the Queen.

Princess Amelia could see they were having a silent battle, "Please do feel comfortable, your needs will be taken care of to the best of her ability" the King called in Emma the lady-in-waiting, who came in taking her position beside the princess bowing slightly in respect to the royal family with a smile.

"She will show you to your Chambers" he replied

"Thank you for your kind gesture, I plan to use it to the fullest" the princess curtseyed once more, the Queen felt a bad aura at her last ambiguous statement, something didn't feel right but she decided to keep it to herself for the time being.

"it's a great pleasure to meet you, Your Highness" Emma squealed in delight.

"I'm sure you are" she rolled her eyes, she tried not to say something spiteful, the pretense she put on was on the verge of falling.

Emma felt the change in princess Amelia's tone as she stopped abruptly. "I hope this dreaded place is not my Chambers?" princess Amelia asked.

"No, actually this is the-" she was cut off midsentence.

"Why did we stop?" Amelia yelled looking ready to throw a fit as she balled her fingers into fists beside her. The wall of pretense crumbling.

She was startled by the sudden outburst of the princess, she reconsidered the innocent question she had wanted to ask when she noticed a change in the princess tone ~is anything wrong? "I thought you needed to rest before we continued" she lied.

Emma swiftly made a u-turn as she headed straight for the princess Chambers, "Here's your room, Your Highness" she bowed slightly, opening the door.

"Now this is what I'm talking about" the princess marveled at the magnificent room with furnished vinyl floors, a Ruby colored Queen-size bed with gold embroidery, the pastel blue on the walls, the beautiful diamond chandelier which was suspended at the center of the golden stencil design on the ceiling, the view from the room was breathtaking, she could see the castle garden from her window.

It took a moment for the princess to realise Emma was still at the door, "Is there anything else you are good for?" she sneered.

Emma flinched at her words, "Your luggage will arrive soon, the King will glad if you could make it to the banquet when you're fully settled".

"Of course he would, who wouldn't be?" princess Amelia replied proudly.

"If you would need anything, I'm at your beck and call, I'll take my leave now, Your Highness" Emma reluctantly said.

"Sure, I will when I see fit but for now, my maidservants do a good job at taking orders well, thanks for the suggestion" she gave a big fake smile before slamming the doors.

"Pathetic" Emma could hear the princess mutter through closed doors, as she was transfixed to the spot due to shock, she wished so dearly for the princess to make her job a lot easier by not needing her services like she had said.

Prince Vincent in his Chambers was fully aware of what transpired, starting from when he heard a sudden pause at his doorstep and an unfamiliar voice saying:"I hope this dreaded place is not my Chambers?".

"No, actually this is the-" he was glad Emma was interrupted, he didn't need this feisty, more or less pompous and bickering person raining on his sunshine.

Curiosity got the best of him as he slowly opened his door as the footsteps could be heard at a distance. "So that's the princess!, uh! just like the others" he retreated to his room not sparing more than a look at her, he just wished Emma would be alright in her new assignment to the princess, she is a royal pain from his little assessment.
