4 Untold Armistice

Commander Blair stood before the King, his advisors and the council ready to give an account on the conditions placed to the mysterious truce.

The commander bowed slightly in respect to the King, the King nodded in acknowledgement, "You may speak".

"King Rodriguez wants to form a marriage alliance, he has personally recommended his daughter, princess Amelia and has arranged for her arrival to the castle as of tomorrow. He wants her to get better acquainted with the prince before the marriage" Commander Blair responded through gritted teeth. "I would like to speak with my King in private later on, if that is alright with you" he concluded.

"Hmm, we would evaluate her" the King looked over at his wife, "and when we deem her fit for our son, we would accept her into our family, but no one should mention the reason for the princess visit" the King pointed out to his advisors, council and cast a worried look at the Queen who wore the same expression.

"Yes Sire" they all chorused before leaving the throne room except Commander Blair.

"What do you wish to discuss with me that is of great importance?" the King's gaze fell on Blair.

"My King, I have a feeling something terrible might happen and my guts tell me there are traitors in the castle as I overheard some guards in Tycan speak of an egg which holds great power in our castle, do you by chance know what they mean by that?" Commander Blair looked at the King whose demeanor changed instantly as did his wife.

"That can't be!, how would anyone know about it?, I'll take my leave now" Queen Milana excused herself heading towards her son's chamber, she had to have a word with him.

"The egg is something my son found 6 years ago, we thought it'll be better if it was kept with my son as he held onto it as a memento, he kept talking about a girl it led him to" the King said taking a trip back through his memory lane. "I want you to protect my son, can you please do that for me?" the King waited for Blair's response.

As the King related a bit of the past about the egg, Blair's body froze for a moment, "If it's what my King wants, so be it" Blair responded turning to leave.

"Be safe" was the King's only response as Blair paused for a fleet second before walking out the door.
