13 Something's Off

Commander Blair's hand lingered as it almost came in contact with the door as she contemplated knocking on the door. Is this a good idea walking into an unknown Chamber?

The door slightly opened as the Queen peered out, confused at commander Blair's strange position, "were you ever going to knock?" She studied his features.

"My apologies, I must have mixed up the numbers of the room, I'll be lea-" Blair was interrupted as she was pulled in by the Queen before she firmly shut the door behind them.

"I'm sorry I had to meet with you under these circumstances" she whispered clearly anxious, she took a seat, "I'm sure you're probably wondering why I am the one you met" all traces of her once anxious features gone, replaced with a composed expression.

"Apparently, yes" Blair said with arms crossed. "What's the connection between Your Majesty and M-" realization dawned on her, M stands for Milana, the Queen's name.

She nodded her head in confirmation, "since we're over that, since you've spoken with the King of Tycan, from what you could see-" she looked up to meet Blair's gaze, "do you think we could be in danger?, Is allowing princess Amelia stay in the castle a good idea?".

"My Queen, I do not really understand where you're driving at" Blair pretended to be oblivious.

"What I am trying to say is, do you think my son would eventually be close to the princess, you do know of the deal proposed by her father" she replied, a glint of sadness engulfing her as she imagined it ever happening.

"I can't be certain" Blair replied, "princess Amelia seems alright" Blair ended through gritted teeth. The mere thought of interrupting them the previous day made her blood boil, something was off about the princess but how could she say this to the Queen without proof?.

"Alright?, That's definitely not what I want to hear" Queen Milana shook her head slightly, "I have to be honest, there is something unsettling about her".

Blair's curiosity sparked up at her last statement, Blair felt relieved, she was not the only who felt the same way, "My Queen, what do you mean?".

"First of all, I don't like her character, second, I can tell she's pretending, there's more to her bashful persona" she replied.

"You'll be in charge of looking out for my son, and find out what you can about princess Amelia" like the King, Blair was given yet a similar assignment.

"I'm not sure I would be able to carry this out successfully" Blair was nervous remembering the last time she had met the prince, it didn't end well.

"Which part do you mean?, Looking out for my son or closely watching Amelia?" She examined Blair's features, nervousness clearly present.

"Well, I don't really know if the prince would be comfortable in my presence" Blair looked anywhere but the Queen.

"What do you mean by that?" Queen Milana suspiciously queried Blair.

I can't tell her about being in the prince's room yesterday

"I happened to stumble on prince Vincent and princess Amelia's..." Blair closed her eyes, internally refusing to believe it, "moment" she finally said, hoping this would throw he off any prying questions which could point to her being with the prince the previous day.

*Gasp* "that can't be possible, my son wouldn't do that" Queen Milana refused to believe what she just heard, "it must be her.. she must have forced herself on him, yes that's it".

"You really think it's a possibility I saw wrong?" Blair was quite hopeful she saw wrong.

"It's not a possibility!, It's certain, he-" Queen Milana paused, she had wanted to say Vincent had clearly stated he disliked the princess.

"Your Majesty!" Blair observed the Queen was lost in her thoughts, "I hope everything is well?, You zoned out for a bit".

"Oh it's nothing, this makes it paramount you closely watch the princess, she's up to something, please try to get closer with my son, he doesn't have friends he can trust" the Queen finally replied.

Then again, does he have friends? "I'll give it my best shot, I might not be considered as a friend to him, but I will try to look out for him" Blair bowed slightly.

"I know you will, under your mysterious outlook, I feel I can trust you, I hope I am not mistaken?" Queen Milana hoped for a positive answer from Blair.

"I would never" Blair assured.

Who I am after is in his castle, scheming as always!!

"That will be all for now" Queen Milana waved her hand.

"I will be taking my leave now" Blair walked towards the door, closing it behind her, she heaved a sigh of relief that she didn't know she was holding.

"This is going to be a long day" Blair muttered to herself.

Meanwhile...

"What are you keeping a secret?" Princess Amelia muttered to herself as she stalked commander Blair.

She waited until he had gone, determined to know who he was with. Few minutes later, The Queen opened the the same door to the Chambers that Blair had been in.

*Gasp* "no way!" She said as silent as possible, pinching herself in case it was a dream.

The Queen cautiously stepped out of the room as moved in the direction of her Chambers, clearly oblivious to the prying eyes of the princess.

"So it isn't just commander Blair but the Queen?, I wonder what the King would have to say about this" princess Amelia said to no one in particular. "This castle just got a lot more interesting!".
