2 Escapade

The woods had become Prince Vincent's solitude as he would sneak out each day for one sole purpose- to stumble across the mysterious girl who he had met 6 years ago, he had questions which he wished to ask if he had the chance to meet her again.

He isn't the scared 13 year old boy of the past, and now he wanted the thrill of adventure, but with the tense cloud in the castle he knew he couldn't speak with his parents at the moment.

He looked at the same spot where he stood 6 years ago holding the egg, and as always, he looked ahead as he had done for quite some time replaying those events. He was a little startled to see a figure in the woods where he had seen the girl but this time around, he wasn't going to cower in fear as he approached the figure cautiously.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, sneaking up on someone could get you killed if you are inexperienced" the familiar voice spoke turning towards Prince Vincent.

"Commander Blair?!" Vincent was astounded, "what are you doing here in the woods?, more importantly why are you here?" he asked skeptically.

"First, I lived around these parts before being a Knight; so I have every right to be in these parts, but you! I don't remember your parents giving you permission to leave the castle, unescorted at that" commander Blair countered.

"touché, are you going to inform my parents on my whereabouts now?" Vincent asked trying to search the commander's face for any reaction which could betray.

"It depends though but I was never given that assignment by His and Her Majesty, so just be careful around these parts, I guess you know you just need to follow the straight path-" the commander pointed in the direction of the path.

"How did you know about the straight path?" Vincent's suspicion of the commander only grew, "why do you wear a mask and hood anyways?, what are you hiding?, a scar?, are you a refugee?, a secret enemy? insecurities?".

"Like I said earlier, I lived around these parts so I know a lot about this woods. As for the mask and hood, that's my business and not yours; if you have a problem with, meet your father, and I suggest you head home soon as I wouldn't want to carry out any other assignments other than the one given to me" the commander said abruptly leaving.

The prince had a new mystery to solve, and it all revolved round commander Blair. "I will find out why you cherish your identity so much, I will know who's behind that mask" he vowed to himself.
