5 The Religious Mutant!

Two days had gone by since Shiva's first day of school. Not much has happened in the short span of time, though that wasn't much to go off on. During these few days Shiva managed to make quite a few friends, of course his closest ones were the ones he had class with the most including Cessily, Evan genesis, Santo, Victor, Indra, Broo, and Ruth. Though to the words of the other students his closest friend, was the one he fought with the most, Prince Kubark. In three short days the two boys had been known as the school's heavyweight brawlers. The reasoning being that on the second day School tough guy, Julian Keller, used his powers to make Shiva drop his food. The result ended up sending Julian to the medical wing with multiple cracked ribs.

As far as his teachings go, Shiva excelled in most of his classes, something that surprised a few of his teachers. He felt on top of the world, that is until he had to learn the hard way, that despite having superstrength, you do not take the legendary Wolverine lightly. On his first day of class with Wolverine, Shiva was handed a definitive loss. His straightforward and narrow Brawling style was no match for the hundreds of years' worth of experience and technique that Logan had amassed. This was a lesson that Shiva was currently learning right now.

Logan grabbed one of Shiva's arms and swept the boy's leg out from under him causing him to land on the back of his head * THud! " Again!" Logan shouted.

Shiva rolled onto his stomach and got to his feet. ' Damn.' Shiva cursed in his mind. He observed how Logan moved and rushed him again.

Though the result was all the same, Logan spent the better half of their five-minute sparring session, tossing Shiva around the room, his classmates snickering at the boy's unfortunate luck.

*BRRRRRRRRRRR1 The sound of the school bell alerted the students to the end of the class.

" All right, class is over, your homework will be in your email, make sure to check it. If you don't then expect tomorrow's class to be ten times worse." Logan told the students.

Shiva hopped up off the ground and grabbed his things and got ready to leave.

" Damn dude, you got your ass kicked again." Santo told the boy.

Shiva turned and laughed. " Yeah, well it won't happen again." Shiva replied

Santa chuckled and rubbed his eyes. " Yeah, okay." Santo stated causing Shiva to roll his eyes. So, where ya heading too next?" Santo asked.

" Nowhere, I'm done for the day man. I'm gonna go get some food and then I'm gonna hit the gym again." Shiva told the boy.

" Sounds like a good time. I got psychic defense with Ms. Rachel next." Santo stated.

" Dude that class sucks so much. That woman is a damn demon. But she is pretty hot." Shiva told the boy.

" Yeah, well I have to go deal with the demon. I'll see you later man." Santo replied.

" Yeah, see ya." Shiva waved to Santo and walked off down the school hall.

Shiva shuffled through his bag as he walked the halls, his thoughts going back and forth to what he went through in the class, trying to understand what Logan was teaching. He was quick on his feet, and he did have the basics to fighting, but Logan was just something else. Everything he threw at him; Logan had the perfect counter for.

" Heh! Guess that's why he's the teacher. At least I got a reason to look forward to the next class." Shiva exclaimed

As he walked through the halls, he overheard a situation involving one of his friends, Ruth.

" Excuse me. I'm sorry, do you know..." Ruth was asking

Her classmates all turned towards the girl with a look on their faces that shouted terror.

" No!!" One of the girls shouted at Ruth. " I mean, I don't want to know, okay? Just don't tell me."

" Nothing personal, Ruth." Victor told the girl. " But, like, when you say things, they have a nasty habit of coming true, and some of the kids think you're not predicting them. They think you're making them happen. So, just keep it to yourself, all right?" Victor explained to the girl.

Although Ruth wouldn't admit it, hearing how others thought so negatively of her did hurt her feelings.

" No, yes. I'm sorry. I just wanted to know the math assignment." Ruth stated.

Off to the side, having heard everything Shiva stepped forward in a bit of a rage. " HEY!" Shiva shouted. The others turned their attention to the boy, and a few shrank in their boots. " What the hell is wrong with all of you?" Shiva asked. " All she wanted was to know the damn math assignment. You should be ashamed of yourselves for the way you all just treated her." He then turned to Ruth. " Forget those jerks, Ruth. I had the same class earlier. How about we do the assignment together?" Shiva asked the girl.

" No, yes. Thank you very much." Ruth replied.

Shiva chuckled and then wrapped two of his arms around Ruth's shoulder as they walked.

" You know, Ruth you don't have to let others talk about you like that." Shiva told the girl.

" Yes, no. I'm sorry." Ruth replied.

" Don't be sorry, Ruth. You did nothing wrong. Why are they afraid of you like that anyway?" Shiva asked.

" Yes, No. I'm sorry, they believe I am responsible for the things I see." Ruth explained.

" You mean your visions?" Shiva asked and Ruth nodded. " Well, screw them. If you ever want to talk to someone about anything including your visions, then I'll be there for you. At any time on any day."

Ruth smiled and nodded. " No, yes. Thank you very much."

" Great." Shiva exclaimed. " Now, maybe you can help me with the assignment, because I'm not the greatest in math." Shiva told the girl.

An hour later, Shiva and Ruth were sitting in the cafeteria finishing up the homework assignment that their teacher, Bobby Drake, had given them.

" God, I'm glad we're finally done." Shiva exclaimed. " Ruth, you saint. Thank you so much for this. I never would have been able to make it past the first question."

" No, yes. Excuse me, but it is very easy, I can help you with it more if you need." Ruth replied.

" I'd love it. I'll take all the help I can get in this class." Shiva replied.

*BRRRRRRRR!

" No, yes. I'm sorry it looks like my free time is up. I need to go now." Ruth told the boy.

" Oh, that's okay. I'm done for the rest of the day. You want me to walk you to class?" Shiva asked the girl.

" No, yes. It's okay, I need to use the girl's room." Ruth told the boy.

" Oh, okay. I'll see you later then, Ruth. You have a good day." Shiva told the girl

Ruth nodded and grabbed her things and then walked out of the cafeteria.

Shiva grabbed his things as well and then looked out of the cafeteria window. ' You know, it's really beautiful outside.' " I think I'll go for a walk." Shiva stated. He grabbed his things and then strode out into the school's backyard and into the surrounding forest.

Ruth, however, was walking down the hall and after having had a fun time tutoring Shiva, was feeling really happy, but before she could get to her class, she had one of her visions.

" Oh." Was all Ruth said as she saw a vision of a man who looked like an Angel of death heading towards the school. Ruth ran as fast as she could to the nearest teachers, Rachel and Rogue, and told them what she saw. " Hello." Ruth spoke drawing the two's attention.

Rogue and Rachel both stopped their conversation and turned towards the girl.

" Yes, no. Someone is coming. He brings our salvation. Excuse me. I'm sorry, destruction." Ruth told the two women.

Rogue went immediately into Danger mode and along with Rachel, began gathering the other teachers, including Wolverine, Beast, Iceman, Cannonball, Frenzy, and Gambit and began preparing for an attack.

' All students immediately report to safe rooms immediately. Do not stop to gather belongings.' Rachel sent out a telepathic message to the entire student body.

Shiva who had wandered into the forest heard the message and wondered what was happening back at the school. ' Oh, well. Guess it's time to go.' Shiva thought as he made his way back to the school.

" Blindfold, what can you tell me about this guy?" Logan asked Ruth as they all walked through the hallways.

" He looks like an angel, a mad, scary angel." Ruth told the man.

" Do you see his powers?" Rogue asked the girl. " What can he do?"

" Anything he wants." Ruth replied.

Logan heard this and went straight to def con one. " We're at Def con one. All defenses on high alert." Logan told the two female teachers. " She keeps saying he's gonna destroy us. I want everyone set to strike on my signal. We're guns with safeties off and triggers cocked." Logan told Rachel.

" Copy. Everyone's been briefed." Rachel told the man.

" How long we got?" Logan asked.

" She has trouble with time." Rogue replied. " Best I can tell is soon."

" Excuse me." Ruth spoke up. " I can be more clear." Ruth told the two she then pointed out the window causing the teachers to see a trail of energy fly by the school. " Now." Ruth told the teachers.

Logan, Rachel, Rogue, Gambit, Beast, Iceman, Cannonball, and Frenzy all ran out of the school as fast as possible to confront the coming threat.

When they got outside, they looked upon their foe in shock and awe.

" Hellfire and Damnation!" Rogue cursed. " EXODUS!!!"

The man floating in the air, had a volume of authority and power to him. In fact, he was an old foe of the X-men. An Omega level telepath far stronger than Rachel Summers and Emma Frost. The great Bennet Du Paris Aka EXODUS. " Greetings X-Men. The fact you still live should prove that I am not here as an enemy." Exodus told the group as he gazed down on them from the air.
