10 Rue and The Heavenly AI

In Arlington County, Virginia lay The Pentagon. It was the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense.

This was where all matters concerning National Security and all important issues concerning the country passed through before being forwarded to the President for final approval. On the underground floor, Mezzanine, some officials were seen conducting a meeting while watching several screens in front of them.

The largest screen was showing a live feed from Los Angeles on the situation which was occurring from an aerial view. The other small ones displayed several news channels all showcasing what was happening in the same city.

The Press were very good at what they did considering the breaking news headings that they put up, they would cause a person with High Blood Pressure to be hospitalized as they were hilarious. All causing more panic to the general public.

They were officials representing each of the National Security Departments and were deep in conversation as they agreed and disagree on different aspects and matters that can and will affect the country in general.

Excluding the CIA and DoD. The others just contributed with small information from time to time. No one could blame them as the details of today's meeting enabled them to know some Red and Black Listed and Non Existent governmental operations that even the Army, Navy and Air Force had no knowledge of.

They were aware of certain aspects happening around the world such as the appearances of UFOs and some unexplainable energy fluctuations on different parts of Earth. But the discovery of a capable all scenario engagement squad; The X Force, blew their minds off the charts. And that it was a two-person team after they passed and survived the selection, made them think the government was pulling their legs.

As in how can a two-person team engage in any military operation; they would first be at a disadvantage compared to numbers with the enemy. Even Alpha Team from joint CIA-Army Special Operations Group with top-class armors and equipment were wiped out on their first encounter with the new arrivals with one survivor and two still in ICU. Considering Alpha Team managed to kill only two of their opponents, what could a team so small do?

This thought crossed all the official's minds at some point during the meeting. It was an expensive joke that wasn't laughable given their current location.

"What?!" I asked loudly not even noticing my high-pitched voice.

"Level 5 authorization required." The AI repeated the statement for the second time.

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" I asked losing my patience because of how my body was feeling right now probably reacting to the 'poisoned' state.

"For an amateur like yourself, certain qualities must be attained before you can drive." Replied the AI.

"What the hell. Such a dumb AI we have here." I said while looking at the teenager.

"Hey! Don't you dare call her dumb. She has a name also." Said the teenager looking not so pleased with my remark.

"Then I guess your dad is the one who is dumb enough to even consider spending his money on this kind of crap rather than paying for your tuition." I answered the teenager with a straight face.

"HEY! NEVER INSULT ANY MEMBER OF THE ADAM'S FAMILY EVER AGAIN.! OR ELSE..." The AI retorted back fiercely.

I was shocked as it was like the AI had feelings. How could that even be possible? This was beyond what I had expected to happen this morning.

"It's fine Aya. There's no need for that. We are all friends here." The teenager said back with a smile plastered on her face.

"Don't you dare lie to me, Rue. We talked about honesty. And don't forget I can be anywhere I want to be and I saw him since he came at you. He isn't such a gentleman, is he? Maybe we can play with him for a while before we toss him to the wolves." Replied the AI making me feel like we had an invincible third wheel hanging out with us.

"Rue?! That's a nice name." I said to the teenage girl when I had the AI (Aya) address her.

"STOP MEDDLING IN OUR BUSINESS." Aya said.

"Respect Aya, respect." Rue replied rather not too pleased with AI's responses.

"Seriously Rue, you are taking his side now of all times?! I am disappointed in you. Do you even know who he is?" Aya said with a slightly higher pitched voice comparing that it is a computer-generated voice.

"What?" Asked Rue.

"I have been doing some digging on him and so far... nothing. Is that even possible?.. No. Not for civilians like you. He is everywhere on Earth at the same time nowhere as there are digital traces of him all over the world but someone erases them every time they occurred over the years. Someone is intentionally masking his presence except the past few months." Aya said as the windscreen and all the windows turned from transparent to tinted and a hologram appeared and covered all the windscreen.

The screen showed photos of my partner and I from years back. They were confidential mission photos that even or maybe the government didn't have.

"How!?" I asked flabbergasted.

"Aya don't tell me..." Rue didn't dare to finish her sentence.

"Yes. I had to, he is a mystery that we have to solve."

"But Aya..."

"We don't worry ourselves with puny things. They won't be able to trace it back to us." Replied Aya with her AI voice filled with confidence.

I was speechless, not for the fact that I have been shushed by an AI but the fact that the said AI has actually hacked its way past every firewall in one of the most secure servers in the world. How was that even possible?!

Okay, I can confess that I have done the most unexplainable, impossible and insane things that no human mind would be able to process or believe. And what was the possibility of them happening?! Near zero I believe.

I manage to gather up my wandering thoughts as I had a life-threatening situation on my hands that was gonna blow upon my face pretty soon. I then asked.

"Rue, can it help me with my problem?"

Rue looked at me for a brief moment before answering.

"Maybe. Remind the beautiful lady first and see how they can help you."

I rolled down my windowpane to see Vega who has been banging it since she got up now looking pleased.

"Finally." She said looking delighted.

"The antidote." I said coldly.

"Bravo Team said they don't have any."

"So they can carry poison bullets but no antidote?"

"Poison bullets? Stop being ridiculous." Vega says not believing any word that came out of my mouth.

I laughed at the remark and said dejectedly. "Goodbye Vega, don't forget me as I won't. Kiss her for me."

I rolled the window up before asking Aya to drive us out of there which she did after confirming it with Rue. Just before the car left Aya issued a warning.

"Someone tried to hack his way to the control system. The signal is from one of the three Tristan da Cunha, The Inaccessible Island.

I locked them out and at the same time planted myself in their server."

At the Pentagon, inside a meeting room, two cellphones were seen vibrating and their owners picked them up without hesitation not even concerned about the powerful individuals sitting in the same room with them.

The phone calls were made respectively to the CIA and DoD.

"Director, someone hacked us. We are still looking for what they took and who they are. We will notify you of any developments." Said the person who called who was from Langley.

"Okay." The Director, a middle-aged woman answered.

At the same time, a similar conversation was taking place now addressing the Director of DoD about the same situation. The other officials looked at the two before glancing at one another.
