School life for day one

I woke up 10 mins before my alarm went off like normal. While I was laying out my clothes this morning and I found my favorite lucky shirt that had been missing for a few months now. I was so happy that I decided to wear it today and hope that I will have a great day and my game testing will give me the race I want.

This shirt is amazing it's mainly black with a red square on it and in the square is a black rose with drops of dark red blood dripping from the rose and it falls into a blood puddle just below the square. The puddle then forms into the words Death comes for us all equally so love who you are. I find it uplifting and inspiring with the truth. To me it says he true and love yourself because in the end we all end up dieing and that is the universal equalizer.

I looked for my black pants with what looks like blood splatter on them and after 10 mins I found them to go with my shirt. I was very happy with my outfit today and headed downstairs to get some breakfast. My mom was sitting there reading the newspaper when I came downstairs.

"Good morning Mom! Anything good going on in the news?" I asked.

My mother shrugged and said "The new puzzles were easy and the theater is playing a few decent shows. Other then that it says it's going to rain all day off and on as well as have strong gusts on wind. Nothing else is interesting right now."

"Mom, no new shocking deaths or calls from the other side coming from the paper today?" I asked trting to keep the conversation going to make up for last night.

"Not today other then your aura is happy but shadowed. It tells me you are in a good mood from wearing your favorite outfit and that later today you will be extremely unhappy. I know you don't believe in this stuff though so I will just say good luck today and I hope you have a good day at school. Make sure you take your umbrella today." She replied as she was getting up from the table.

"I love you Mom" I said loudly.

"I love you too Onyx, don't be late for school." I vaguely heard her reply.

Looking at the time I rushed to make my breakfast smoothie with oatmeal, coconut, pineapple, banana, avacado and a protein and multivitamin powder. It is really good as well as filling and healthy. People dont get why I wear and look the way I do and then also eat so healthy. But what can I say I am who I am and won't change for the world. I drank my smoothie on the way to school today.

At school I put my stuff in my locker number 666 and proceeded to my Math class. I love math and easily get 100% or higher if there are bonus questions. After that I headed to the gym along the way I saw a sign that said supernatural creatures are real to find out more visit room 6 in the woodworking area next Thursday right after classes. I laughed a bit at it and thought about attending for a good laugh. We played dodgeball today and I had a lot of fun hitting people with the ball as well as catching the balls. Finally lunch came around and I sat down at my usual table but my friends today but no one joined me today. I texted them and found out that they weren't feeling well today. I headed to choir after lunch and we were practicing an a capella soing by the famous Peter Hollens. It just happened to be his original song called December Song. Afterwards I got to go to my hands down favorite class which is Fantasy 101. It is the one elective that took me 3 years to get into as the waiting list took a long time to get through. In this class we learn all sorts of things that help writers, video game designers, graphic designers and the like do better with supernatural creatures, landscapes, history of fantasy books and much more. Today we started do the bad blood between vampires and werewolves.

My Professor Jones started off class with, "Today we will discuss vampires and werewolves and why they could hate each other. Many modern vampire and werewolf stories, the vampire and the werewolf are natural enemies. In some stories it has to do with competition for prey, in some the werewolves exist to protect humans from vampires, and in others there is an ancient feud between the two factions that has continued through the centuries. There's no right or wrong way to tell a story when it comes to vampire and werewolf story. These two make really great enemies because they are both powerful creatures (especially at night), who are not known to have any other natural predators. Who better to stop a vampire than a werewolf, or vice versa? Also a lot of stories have one or the other cursed and natural born. Pay attention to the way you want them to be. As with vampires who are cursed may or may not be able to walk in the sun, they could be forced to drink animal blood vs human blood due to the nature of the curse. You could have them forced into an animal form except on certain situations be in nights they are human like or you can make up whatever senario that you might want for them. The same can be said about cursed werewolves. They could be forced to be a wolf until full moons or forced to change each night or even can only shift during a new moon vs a full moon or maybe even both new and full. Natural born vampires and werewolves tend to be more straightforward and all the more deadly. Natural born vampires could be more powerful and able to walk in the sunlight. Born werewolves could have to be more careful as they could shift at will day or night or have more power or strength. So you really have to pay attention to how you portray them. If you make one too weak and the other two strong it will cause issues in your writing or game play and people wont like it unless that is your goal for the event. Like a pack of werewolves are on the run from some overpowerful vampires and they find help in an unlikely place and with some shocking allies or what not. You have to make sure you find a way to, in the readers or game players mind to balance them out. Any questions with this?"

I raised my hand and asked, " What about maybe taking a master slave relationship with them like a vampire became indebted to a werewolf and swore their kid will serve the other person to repay the deed and what not?"

Professor Jones smiled at me and said, "Onyx one of the reasons I like having you in class is you challenge the standard notions. You can indeed have the races be allies vs enemies or a master slave relationship in a variety of different ways. Just remember if you make them a team... Who will you have as their enemies? What would make the readers or game players want to play or read the game or book? Will there just be drama between them? Will you have a different set of fantasy creatures like say elves and dragon oppose them or something. Werewolves and vampires are the perfect predators for each other. Dragons could be a decent one but it tends to be harder to do to make them enemies. So its up to you as the writer or game designer to decide which way you want to take your supernatural creatures just make sure you find a way that the people outside of you can make sense of the dynamics for your creation.
