7 Chapter 6

RAIN

"WHAT are you going to do after the class?" Lu whispered to me as she looked at Kyle

whose busy lecturing about the chief gods.

I stopped taking down notes the looked at her.

I shrugged. I had nothing to much anyway after class. "Eat my lunch at my place?"

I heard Erin laughed who's busy writing on her notes. "Of course. What other things would she be doing after this but eating?"

The person next to me looked and glared at me. "What I meant was after the class and after eating your freaking lunch."

"Sleep perhaps?" I answered, clueless at what she was trying to point out.

She breathed hard. "Bitch, I don't know if you are just being sarcastic or just because you are so innocent. But, your life is very boring. Come with us later to the dorm. You’ll be sleeping and eating there. Then we’ll watch movies then play cards as well. We could also play and train there."

I would not have accepted her invitation but I heard his voice in my mind.

'Say yes.'

I secretly frowned. "Okay."

There’s really something about his voice that made me not to disobey him. It's as if his voice or rather his personality was made to command.

"Yes!"

What she said made some of our classmates look at our place.

Lu just rolled her eyes at them then as if nothing happened, she began listening to the lecture.

When the class was over, she literally dragged me to their dorm. I didn't even bring my belongings and I hope Erin would do the honor to bring them. Or else everyone would make fun of my things.

When we arrived at our destination, she smiled at me widely. "I just made sure you would not change your mind. And you woudn't do that anymore. We are here! Welcome to the elites'humble abode." She said and she let me go then left me in the living room.

The Elites' place is really spacious and more modern than the rest of the dorms. Only their dorm was contained in one door. Like a house. Five bedrooms on the left and five bedrooms on the right. Then there's a hallway to the kitchen and dining table.

"So she dragged you to come here."

I turned to the source of the voice. Panther- the prince of the demon world.

I smiled thriftily at him as well as the others who had just arrived. Luckily, Erin had brought my bag with her. She handed it to me with a smile when she got near.

When Sere saw me, her face lit up in happiness.

"Rain! You're here!" She squeaked happily and hugged me.

The others also hugged me, including Nero who was still clapping.

"Yey! The more the merrier! Welcome to the family!"

Lu kicked him and Nero winced in pain. "Stupid! She'll just eat with us."

Diego frowned. "Who's cooking by the way?"

Reya, who had just arrived from the kitchen, answered. "Storm."

After he said that, the whole living room fell silent.

I could see the shock faces of the seven people in front of me.

Nero's and Diego's eyes were round with shock and the girls’ mouths were open.

"T-tell me Rey. Did I hear you r-right?" Diego stammered.

Sereya tsked and crossed her arms on her chest. "See for yourselves."

They ran to the kitchen leaving me and Sereya behind.

"Welcome to the elite's dorm. Feel free to wander. But don't open the door with the black and rep paints on the frame."

I smiled at her. "Thank you. I’ll take note of that."

She looked straight at me. "Good thing you don't stutter anymore."

I laughed. "Yeah. I learned to trust you guys. You know, I have trust issues."

For the first time, I saw my sister smiled.

"Welcome to our dorm. Please feel free at home."

DERENE

"What did you talk to the faculty about, Storm?" I asked Storm as we ate.

Yum! Storm really was a very good cook. But I could just only count on my fingers the times he cooked. Sere and Diego usually cooked for us.

"The upcoming Campus Challenge."

We all had an interest in what he said except for Rain who frowned. I alomost forgot she was just new in the academy.

"What's that?" She asked in curiosity as she looked at Storm.

I noticed lately that when they were together, they often talk to each other as if they were just alone in the place. As if they're the only creatures in the world. And even if they just looked at each other’s eyes, they already seemed to be talking.

Storm took some rice and simply put it on Rain's plate while he took the chicken from the woman's plate and put it on his own plate and replaced it with vegetables that surprised us all.

Storm had never been this attentive before! He was always serious and uncaring.

"They said we can join the challenge. Provided that we're ten in the group."

Another thing I noticed about Storm was his long answers every time we asked. He rarely talked and his answers would only be few.

"What is that challenge?" Rain asked again.

The man sighed and looked into her eyes as if speaking.

After a while, Rain then nodded and turned her attention back to the food.

Nero, who was next to me, nudged my shoulder. "Did they just talk using telepathy?"

I shrugged. "Probably. You know Storm. He doesn't want a lot of questions."

He nodded and ate.

Then Reya spoke. "Did you guys see what happened a while ago?"

We frowned at her but she just looked at Storm. "Storm, I hope my eyes just toyed with me earlier."

Storm’s eyebrows met. "What?"

Rey frowned. "You putting rice and removing the chicken on Rain's plate."

Rain's face was completely red with no cloth covered while Storm's eyebrows still met.

"I did."

Spoons and forks splattered on our plates as we stared gaping at him.

"What the f--"

Lu could not continue what she was about to say because Sere had already covered her mouth.

"But I saw you strangling her neck a week ago," Erin exclaimed in shock.

'Let's just say it was my sign of apology to her. Now eat. Or I'll burn your plates.‘ We heard him say that in our minds.

Because of fear he would do as what he said, we all returned our attention on the food.

I then secretly smiled.

Seems like our beast has found his beauty at last.
