107 Turning Tables

The Abyss Eater hadn't grown any faster than before, but Axio had definitely grown slower from over exerting himself.

It was a wonder whether or not he still had blood coursing through his veins.

'Illusion's won't work again... The Abyss around him is too strong for him to be touched by any of my spawned animals... No matter how much I compress it, which I can't do any longer...' the wretch weighed his options, his state of mind oddly calm and relaxed.

Unknowingly, as he felt truly threatened by the formerly Abyss Eaten, he had entered a deep state of focus, also called, the zone.

He had gone above and beyond to try and crush the corrupted man, now, he would be barely able to manage the production of any spawner or seed of challenge.

His needle possession was ineffective against anything other than monsters.

His size manipulation was also straining to use, even as he attempt the slighest of changes, it felt like his very self refused to follow through, his body was too damaged to handle it.

The man had already seen through his best of illusions, so it was no use to think of it.

His monster bait and flare served no purpose here either.

All of his special abilities were now useless.

The Abyss Eater prepared to strike but flinched back, surprised by the wretch's next move.

The man had deduced one fact about the monster and it was that he was physically weak, he didn't know that Axiolypito could no longer use any of his special tricks, nor did he know that he had no other abilities to pull.

Axio grew a single needle claw on his index finger and carefully took it off, before suddenly plunging it into his own nape.

This power may be useless directly against the corrupted man, but he was a monster.

His body had refused to move at its best.

Why?

Simply because he was bleeding out? Just because his muscles twitched uncontrollably? Because his mind seemed split in half?

That was no good, however, the monster's Axiolypito extended his will over could ignore all of such things, because those that were needled only answered to Axio's commands, if he told them to die, they would drop dead without thought.

As such, the wretch reasoned that if he use his needle on himself, then he would overcome the whinning of his body and mind, responding to his orders like it should.

Like everything and everyone should.

Growing claws on his hands, Axio moved into a peculiar position coming from him, his arms extended to the side and slightly up, his feet moved in position for him to move forward.

'Is he... Going to come at me like this?' the one who devoured the Abyss didn't know how to react, he knew that Axio was a non-threat physically, however.

He also knew that no prey was more dangerous than a cornered one.

His knowledge of the enemy and his experience clashed against one another, he would have taken time to think of both things, were it not for the wretch disappearing from his spot, moving at his best speed again.

With a gruesome howl, the Abyss Eater caused the tendrils on his back to grow to higher proportions as additional tentacles appeared, these ones bearing eyes at the very tip.

He could the blurs signifying the passage of the monster, however, there were so many of them, it was impossible to guess Axiolypito's current position.

It wasn't necessary though, even with his right leg and left arm missing, the corrupted hunter had never had so many limbs to work with.

He would simply strike everywhere at once!

Brushing against his tendrils, Axio weaved through the attacks and clawed at every single opportunity, feeling the Abyss under the enemy's control melting his claws and burning his skin, he simply replaced each claw that was damaged without stopping.

It sounded like coins were raining from the sky all around the Abyss Eater as Axiolypito didn't stop moving and swinging.

The eyes on some of the tendrils were soft enough to be damaged.

Needing them no more, they were retracted.

'As I thought' indeed, Axio was still stupidly weak.

Despite the monstruous momentum he should be accumulating, he dealt next to no damage, deying the laws of physics to move faster was one thing but it came with the severe drawback of completely ruining the inertia he should have.

Were he not a freaky little creature that ignored fundamental laws, he would have simply been able to run through the corrupted man to reduce him to a mist of blood.

The Abyss eater felt assured of his victory now, he felt confident that this hunt would end with a jolly triumph on his part, he had had to sacrifice his old self to gain powers of the Abyss but it was worth it, everything was worth it to end his life on a good hunt.

As a simple human, he had demonstrated the endless potential and adaptability of humanity throughout all of his life, always by himself, coming on top of various creatures and beasts that should have been able to throw him directly to his coffin in a single strike.

Even forcing the Abyss to become his.

Humans were truly capable of everything.

The man's gaze met that of Axiolypito, his eyes were wide open, so utterly focused that it seemed like nothing but this fight existed for him at the moment.

But his eyes weren't what took the man aback, it was something else.

'Impossible... This- This is incredible' he could only be shocked and give out a praise as he saw the wretch clearly again.

Humans could accomplish anything, in any way, it was pretty much a fact.

But then, what of the wretched little beings that sometime bursted out of their corpses?

What did they inherit of their bloody shells?

It was twisted, but the mithridate ability wretches were born with, the ability that sentenced them to death whatever they did, it was their inheritance.

Adaptability and potential.

The Abyss Eater felt the monster's hand touch his face and the Abyss he had tamed was partly sucked out, having found a new sovereign.
