The Desired Way

It was neither a tower, spawner or anything else the wretch could muster, what hit the Abyss Eaten before he could think of dodging was a compoud mass of flesh and rock, everything the wretch could produce had been merged together.

A construct that had no usage other than to be thrown at an opponent, a construct that had required countless minutes to be ready to shoot and a construct that was visibly taking a toll on Axio.

A move that couldn't see much usage other than it this particular situation, only in such an enclosed space did Axiolypito require high fire power, the Abyss Eaten was a formidable opponent but not fast like Sir Solitar.

His mantle of Abyss prevented him from being swarmed and worn down too, Axio's usual strategies couldn't function on him.

So for once, he had to put in the work himself.

When using his abilities too much or bending their properties, he bled and damaged himself but as long as the Abyss Eaten went down, the experience his death would grant Axio healing.

The corrupted man shielded his chest with his broken arm, a violent vertigo overtook him as it felt like had been taken away from his spot instantly, he barely registered hitting the wall behind him, focused on the sight of his broken arms being blown to pieces, now truly rendered useless.

His blighted, dark blue blood covered his face as he felt the overwhelming might of the attack dig into his chest, he tried to strike the mound of debris and flesh with his free arm.

It was useless, it was constantly moving forward like a cascade, exploding on him and leaving space for what was coming next.

His arm and hand bounced back powerlessly, unable to stop his organs from being crushed, his bones from being ground to dust.

He was choking on pieces of his own organs, blood coming from his mouth, not because he was coughing it but because it was being forced in all directions by the endless pillar ravaging him.

Still holding on, the hunter didn't call quite on the hunt just yet, unleashing all of the Abyss he could toward the wretch, who was currently immobile, unable to move while he was still unleashing the torrent from in between his two hands.

'Why?' this was a genuine question on the part of the Abyss Eaten, he couldn't comprehend why this monster seemed to unbothered by the Abyss, it should corrode his flesh, corrupt him into something he wasn't.

The abject might of the dark shouldn't make exceptions, even the creatures of the Abyss needed to be careful, lest they were swallowed whole, if even the beings born from it weren't safe, then why was this one unaffected?

Was the Abyss treating him differently?

As this thought went through the dying man's mind, he finally connected the dots, only now did he realise what the creature currently killing him was.

He had delved deep to find the Abyss, all in hopes of a glorious hunt against The Lord Of The Hunt, one of the apostles of Mov, the great being revealed to him through the crystals him and his cohort of nameless fools had discovered.

He had found a breach down there, that was being watched by a man of great power, he had convinced him that using the crystal on the still sealed rift would accomplish what he desired.

It had been a lie, but the nameless hunter had never felt it above himself to deceive others.

Next thing he knew, a peculiarly dressed man and a venerer suddenly came, he didn't pay any mind to the former, ready to get straight to the hunt, however, the faceless abomination was no prey for him.

The abyssal matter from the breach manifested in a physical form, tackling him instantly, he had been at his peak at the time and he hadn't been able to do anything.

Battered down without a chance to even swing once, he lost a leg and had an arm shattered, he was left to be corrupted and slowly consumed by the Abyss, which had weakened at some point, for a reason he didn't know.

Remembering all of this, he now realised that this wasn't simply a great hunt, he had an apostle of Mov right in front of him!

The Abyss didn't harm him because the Abyss was vassal to The Lord Of The Hunt, he had the blessing of connection shielding him!

But that was only because the abyssal matter was under the sovereignity of another apostle...

Convincing himself, the Abyss Eaten's last red eye turned dark blue as well, consumed whole by the Abyss that was harmless to his opponent, he was going to lose.

By his own assumptions, he had shot himself in the foot.

Axiolypito's body trembled for a moment, as the terrible vision of that damned orbiting rock appeared in his mind for an instant, a sure sign that he was nearing too closely with death.

The dark blue eyes shined deeply and in their center, the red shine appeared once more, the Abyss sticking to the corrupted man was sucked into him.

With a swing of his remaining hand, the man put a stop to the wretch's most powerful attack, tentacles of Abyssal matter growing out from his stumps and onto his back, a distinct red in the dark blue around the pure darkness.

Before his very eyes, Axio had witnessed something great, even he would be forced to concede to this fact, the wretch's eyes shot wide open, blood vessels had popped in his dark eyes, turning his vision nearly completely red.

The man's hand was reaching for his face, without hesitation, he forced his aching body to move to its limit, him and his adversary stared one another down for what seemed an eternity.

In truth, it was barely more than a glance.

Axiolypito was bearing witness to the extraordinary might of mankind, even putting everything in the cosmos together, no being had ever truly adapted to the Abyss from scratch, even the original venerer hadn't done it, for his birth place had bore aspect of the most terrible of Abyss.

Thus, the corrupted man was the first true entity foreign to the dark to have overcome the corruption and become one with the Abyss.

The abyssal matter within him was his to control and such, without any risks of repercussions on him, he could be as reckless as he wished with it.

The Abyss Eaten was no more.

In the end, it was the Abyss that had been devoured!
