1 Charybdis The Worm...
'Where in gods name am I' As i attempt to look around i realise my limbs are missing, and not just my arms and legs but my eyes as well. Once i realised this i wondered if this was the afterlife, after all when i was a kid mom always told me that when we die there is nothing, no rebirth, no heaven, nothing. Once i realised my mom was right i started panicing a little, after all if your going to spend an eternity in eternal darkness it would be nice to at least have a TV.
Luckily in my 99 years of life i have found many ways of staving off bordem. like imagining the results of a 3rd world war, or mabey what would happen if there was a zombie apocalypse. But fate seemed to have other plans because i got hungry. I'm gonna be honest this scared me. I was just barely able to keep my mind within eternal darkness, but if im gonna be hungry as well, I might as well try searching for food, to be honest i didn't have much hope.
Before i started moving i felt a strange compulsion to say the word 'status', and i complied with the compulsion by trying to say status. Sadly no words came out of my mouth. However a strange screen did appear inside my mind, it had the shape of a rectangle, was completely white, and had black text on it.

'Ok' that was my only thought. After about 5 minutes everything that i had just read finally sunk in. 'What do you mean my race is 'Earthworm' i am human, HUMAN i tell you, and what the is up with this starnge screen? why can i see it? Can other people see it?' After ranting and raving for over an hour i was finally able to disect everything that i had just read.
Apperently my abilitys are catagorised in a way similar to RPG's i played when i was younger. The only problem is that i am a earthworm. However it says i can evolve so its not the end of the world. I assume i will be able to increase my stats upon level up, and mabey if i evolve enough i may be able to see, or if im lucky i could even hear. Of course that is assumeing that i can make it to my first evolution without dying. But 1 question remains, how do i level up? If this was a normal RPG i would have to slay monsters but... I am the monster. Mabey anything i kill could give me exp?
While i was thinking about this i suddenly remembered that i was hungy, so me being the hungry worm that i am tried moving to the surface in the search of food. It seems my burrow skill really helped me out. Luckily it didn't take me long to reach the surface. Upon arriving at the surface it didnt take me long to find a nice fallen leaf for me to munch on. Although it was a strange feeling it didn't take me long to get used to it. However as i was eating i got a stange notification.

To say i was shocked was an under statement. I innitially thought you could only gain skills upon level up, or mabey there was some kind of skill tree, but it seems i was wrong and all i really needed to do was reapeat a specific action. Once i finished reading the notification i went back to eating, however as i took another bite i was once again interrupted.

Seeing this notification i was over joyed for a few seconds, then i was in pain. A lot of pain, I had never personally eaten so much before, especially not on earth. 'My stomach feels like its on fire, OW, OW, OWWW.' After a few minutes of searing pain, the pain finally subsided. 'Well at leat i have found a way to level up, even if it is somewhat masochistic.' With that thought i retreated underground and waited to be hungry again. When i was finally hungry i returned to the surface and once again searched for something to eat. After repeating this process 10 times i was finally blessed with a level up notification as well as some other good notifications.

Seeing the flood of text i couldn't help but be exited at the thought of being one step closer to evolution. Without wasting a second i opened up my status window and viewed the changes.

After thinking for a while i eventually decided to put 2 points into strength, 2 points into speed, and 1 point into perception. The reason i decided to allocate my points this way is because 1) i have no plans on becomeing a mage, and 2) I need survivability, because sadly i could easily die if a bird spots me and decides i would make a good snack. So speed and strength should allow me to dig faster if they are combined together, and perception is useful because seeing by only sensing heat is difficult, to say the least.
Although i dont know how much time had passed since i became a worm, i assume it had only been around 3 days. With that thought i went underground and waited to get hungry again, and just like that the cycle repeated although there were some slight differences. Like how pain resistance really helped out with bearing with the pain of over eating, and how the [Over Eating: E] Skill now gave me 1.5 EXP, and how i needed 15 EXP to level up.
And with that another 3 days had passed, sadly [Over Eating: E] Skill did not increase in rank however [Pain Resistance: F] Skill did Increase in rank.

Similar to last time i placed 2 points into strength and speed, and i placed 1 point into perception. However due to not increasing the rank of my [Over Eating: E] Skill it took longer and longer for me to level up. Until finally after 2 months i got the notification that would signify the start of my journey to the top.
