Chapter 1: The Beginning

"Good morning, Your Majesty."

"Ahh... it's too early..." I groan.

"It's 8:30, ma'am, time to start the day."

"It's Saturday, no queen business today," I reply in a drowsy voice.

"Today is actually Tuesday, and you have 'queen business' every day, madam... if you don't get up I will have the royal choir come into your bedroom and begin singing!"

"FINE!" I said as I begin rolling off my bed, bringing most of the pillows and blankets with me.

*FLOP*

"Leave me, Travis, you're dismissed." I say while waving my hand in the air, signaling Travis to leave.

Time to begin my day... man... my bed was really comfortable.

I head to the bathroom and turn the knob to start the shower. After that I make my way to my dressing room.

My dressers have already prepared my clothes for today. Great, they picked out a dress and corset. They always lace up my corset too tight and the dresses are all too poofy, making it hard to use the bathroom. I get dressed, and then, same as every day, I follow the red and gold carpet down the hallway and down the stairs.

*clomp, clomp, clomp*

Dang, my shoes are loud...

Travis is waiting for me downstairs. "How was your slumber, Your Majesty?"

Hehehe, slumber... who says that?

"It was exceptional," I say haughtily, trying not to smile.

"Your breakfast is waiting for you in the dining room." Travis does not smile. Ever.

After breakfast I decide to go spy on the knights' training session.

*clomp, clomp, clomp*

How am I supposed to spy on people in these clunky shoes!

"Ahh, that's better," I say after taking off my shoes.

What? I can spy better in my socks... or as my dressers say... 'stockings.'

"Whooo!"

There are no carpets downstairs in the castle, just highly polished hardwood floors. So I'm free to slide about. Uh-oh...

*CRASH*

*SHATTER*

"Oh no!" I'm in trouble now.

I just broke the last thing my parents left to me before they died: the amber crystal. It was a large, round, orange-ish, gemstone thingy that mostly just stayed on a pedestal under a glass case, taking up room.

"Your Majesty!"

It's General Bruce. My parents left him in charge of me before they died. But I'm old enough to rule, I mean, I'm 18.

General Bruce has dark brown hair that's going silver/gray. Today he's wearing a gray collar shirt with a rhombus patterned brown tie and a dark brown vest. He's also wearing black pants and shiny black shoes.

After Bruce studies what I have done, he orders me to meet him in his study.

I'm in for it now... I put my shoes back on and walk to his study in shame.

"I'm sending you to World Zero."

"What?! Why?!" I exclaim in a frightened voice.

"This behavior is unacceptable!" he shouts.

"It's not just the crystal you broke today, it's the dinner you pulled off the table yesterday, the DeHoyas wedding you crashed last week, as well as the royal horse race you DESTROYED 2 months ago."

"In my defense, no one told me how dynamite works."

"Silence!" he yells. "World Zero has great schools. At least that way you might learn some manners! I will take over the royal duties while you're gone."

"How long will I be there?" I ask quietly.

"You will leave Exorria tomorrow morning. I have a nice house in United States Land. You will leave with my enchanted pouch, which gives you unlimited American money... DON'T ABUSE THE MONEY!"

He opens a drawer and pulls out a red and gold pouch, handing it to me.

"You shall go to your bedroom, and you and your maid are to prepare your trunk."

"How long am I to stay in World Zero?"

"Until the summer lets out... which is about 3 months."

After 2 hours of stuffing big dresses into my trunk, my maid Dawn and I finally finish packing. My trunk is covered in brown leather and the edges are painted in black. The lock is gold, matching the key. The ribbon tied to the key is red. I grab a large handbag and stuff the enchanted pouch and trunk key inside.

I start my nightly routine and then go to sleep.

**Roughly ten hours later...**

"Good morning, Your Majesty."

Great, it's Travis again.

"Today is the day you leave for World Zero."

Oh yeah, I forgot about that...

*FLOP*

Another glorious morning on the floor.

"You're dismissed, Travis," I say as I rub my eyes, trying to fully wake up.

After my bathing, I see my dressers have picked out another dress - this time not so puffy and it's also not so long (about shin length). It's black, too, but I still have that tight-laced corset.

Sigh.

The corset is a light pink color that is laced and worn on the outside of my dress.

After breakfast, General Bruce brings me to the portal pads. The portal pads are round, black mat things on the ground in the forest. We have to hike on a trail to get to them. And hiking with a trunk seems hard, but I'm not carrying it, General Bruce is. Side note, I'm actually very strong. I'm a magical being like my parents. I could carry my trunk myself, but I just like watching him struggle.

"We're ... here," pants General Bruce, sweating.

He takes out a round, purple glowing ball, that is as big as my palm, and throws it on a pad, making a splatter. These purple balls are called "portal keys." Or "portal pods," same thing.

A sorcerer or witch are the only ones who can forge these. Magically forged, that is.

He hands me four portal keys and I immediately put them in my handbag.

After a few seconds, the mat with a splat (hehe, mat with a splat) has a large, levitating, purple portal over it.

"If you need anything, use these keys to come back. Remember to only use them for emergencies. After the school year is over and the summer has ended, I'll send someone over to get you."

He hands me a piece of parchment paper with the address of the house and some tips on how to get to my new school.

"Ummm, thanks... Goodbye..." I say as I cautiously walk through the portal with my trunk.
